#machine#Equipment#HeavyMachinery"Welcome to my channel! We’re back again with more epic heavy machines and smart tech. These beasts are known for their size and power. But what about if they’re not designed for our usual worksite conditions? Well that’s the machines in: The Most COOL SNOW & ICE Heavy MACHINES. (Don’t pretend you don’t want one of these!)
From search and rescue ATV dream machines and lighting fast snow ploughs to polar expedition trucks, remote control snow kats and much more. As winter draws in and snow & ice make society a dangerous place, it’s these machines who step up to make it as accessible and useable as possible.
This epic heavy weather tech showcases some seriously smart designs and hugely satisfying machines. As well as the engineering and operation it takes to tame these beasts.
These things truly are on another freezing cold level."
Welcome back to Monster Machines. Today we're diving into a world where heavy machines meet
winter's relentless ice and snow. These things are built for extremes, and that includes risks.
Let's kick things off with one of our favorites, the Yvonne Martin MTT 136 electric sled. Designed
by French-Canadian engineer Yvonne Martel, this remarkable vehicle is unlike anything else on our
list today. A fascinating blend of snowmobile combined with elements from dog sleds and tanks.
Weighing approximately 280 pounds makes it lightweight yet robust enough for
traversing snowy terrains efficiently without compromising on performance or agility.
The MTT 136 features motorized tank treads equipped with handlebars that allow operators
full control over their movements even when navigating through challenging environments
like deep powder or icy trails. Priced around $15,000 makes this electric powerhouse accessible
compared to other heavy-duty winter machines. Though as exciting as riding one may be,
it of course also comes with risk. There was a reported incident where an operator lost control
while descending steep slopes near Quebec City, causing themselves multiple injuries from the
improper handling techniques they used, and these accidents are all too common.
Next up is another heavyweight contender, the Caterpillar motor grater. Renowned globally for
their construction equipment prowess, Caterpillar has designed these graters specifically tailored
towards efficient snow removal tasks. When equipped with specialized snowplow attachments,
v-plow designs, these graters become essential tools capable of managing significant snowfall
accumulation across roads or large open areas effectively. With prices ranging anywhere from
$44,000 to $275,000 depending on specifications chosen by buyers, it's clear why cities rely
heavily upon them during harsh winters. But don't let their size fool you, safety risks remain
present even when using such powerful machines. In fact, in January 2020, a Caterpillar grater was
involved in a collision while clearing highways amidst severe winter storms across Michigan.

tons more content. Now let's shift gears towards something more agile, the Volvo L90H loader.
This versatile piece transforms into an absolute workhorse once fitted properly with appropriate
attachments like snow blades, enabling it to clear paths quickly at impressive speeds, reaching up to
31 miles per hour. Its fuel efficiency combined alongside high productivity levels make it
indispensable, especially during peak snowfall seasons where time matters most. Typically averaging
costs around $150,000, the L90H has proven itself invaluable within urban settings too, but even here
accidents happen. During a usual freezing cold February, an operator lost control whilst attempting
street clearing operations, which resulted in multiple injuries among pedestrians caught unaware.
Let's take things up another notch, now introducing none other than PistonBully 600W,
the creme de la creme when it comes sustainable slope management tech. Designed primarily to groom
ski slopes without harming the delicate ecosystems surrounding them, it boasts impressive specs,
including 400 horsepower output coupled alongside low deadweight ensuring optimal power-to-weight
ratios which allows for easier climb up steep inclines. Starting prices sit around a reasonable
$56,000, but don't let affordability fool you into thinking this isn't serious business here.
The risks are everywhere. In fact, back in March 2018, an accident occurred involving a PistonBully
at ski resort in Vermont where the operator lost control of the machine, the result of which was
injuries sustained amongst themselves and other nearby staff members. Moving on to something truly
unique now, the How and How Ripsaw EV2. It's not just about luxury, it's built purely for raw power
and boasting unparalleled off-road performance capabilities designed to tackle the toughest
terrains imaginable. Each unit is handcrafted and takes upwards of six months, but the build time
reflects the bespoke nature of the machine itself. The additional customizations can send the prices
north of $500,000 depending on what upgrades and toys the buyer wants. However, as exciting riding
one may sound, it does come with inherent dangers, especially associated with its speed capabilities.
Reported rollovers occurring under extreme weather conditions are common and hopefully remind
everyone to exercise caution whenever pushing these things to their limit. Still watching? Then you
should definitely be a subscriber by now. Next up we have something particularly suited to polar
expeditions, the Burlak ATV 6x6. Built specifically to navigate rugged terrains where conventional
vehicles struggle, this six-wheeled configuration provides enhanced stability, which is crucial for
traversing through ice and snow effectively. The price for one of these is around $275,000.
And here's a cool fact, researchers utilized these ATVs when they transported equipment across
Antarctica, which really shows the versatility these monster machines have. But even robust
designs aren't immune to mishaps. Reports have surfaced that detail instances of rollover
accidents occurring under severe environmental stressors. Now let's shift gears again towards
specialized airport operations featuring none other than the Overrassen Klem Flare snowplow.
Designed to handle the heaviest snowfall and ensure runways remain fully operational even
amidst the worst storms possible is quite the challenge. Originating from Norway and famed for
their durability and effectiveness under extreme conditions, it's no surprise the cost can be
upwards of $300,000 depending on the configuration. However, operating such specialized
equipment poses major challenges too. During February of 2019, miscommunication between ground
crews led to a collision involving aircraft and an overrosten plow, resulting in costly repairs.
Luckily this time, the only damage was to the machines. Let's not forget about innovative
solutions either. Meet the Spiker Workshop Snowcat 2x. Combining traditional power with remote
controlled agility seamlessly, creating a two-stage RC snowblower capable of handling depths 14 inches
wide and speeds reaching 31 miles per hour, as it effortlessly clears urban spaces effectively
without disturbing surroundings too much. While compact design is ideal for settings where larger
machines cannot operate effectively, there have been challenges noted. Often improper handling
which leads to accidents and operators losing control in heavy snowfall. Which is why utilizing
the remote operated vehicles whenever possible is a priority. Next on our list represents a
significant advancement within the industry. The Arctic Machine AM4600LPC and SHJ222J,
designed efficiently to clear two lanes simultaneously thanks to a combination of
frontside plows. This increases the overall efficiency and reduces the time required to
maintain safe roads in snowy conditions. This is significant when you consider the dramatically
improved response times emergency services are capable of where they have safe access routes
available all year round. However, even best laid plans sometimes go awry. Reports have been made
that details instances of misjudged clearances that resulted in collisions occurring on busy
roadways during stormy weather. Finally, we arrive at classic example of specialized snow and ice
vehicles. The legendary Tucker Snowcat Type 743 Double Drive, known to reliability handle the
extreme conditions found within Arctic expeditions. Since its inception decades ago, it has boasted
enhanced traction systems that allow it to traverse icy landscapes safely. However, there are major
challenges too. Breakdowns reported during critical missions due to the harsh environmental factors
are encountered regularly. And that's a wrap. Which ice warrior did you think was the coolest?
