Mike Whitaker, head of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), announced Thursday that he would be stepping down from his position on Jan. 20. He was confirmed to a five-year term in October 2023 and has spent much of his short tenure addressing Boeing safety issues.
Aviation analyst Jay Ratliff told NTD that the FAA is facing growing challenges and needs more permanence in its leadership to streamline performance and results.
