I can't believe that we're coming up on 10 years since that one summer we spent together. My life up until that summer lacked meaning. So much so that I still have a hard time remembering much of it. But then I met you and I couldn't believe that someone like you could exist. That's when I realized that I was never really disappointed by life. I was just disappointed in myself. That summer I wasn't ready for you. You were worthy of much more than I was capable of giving. I couldn't do it at that time. I'm sorry. We never caught ourselves And in the waves of revelation We tried to keep our heads above Pains, the pain, the breeze again We cut the ropes that tied us down And I always was Before that summer, I couldn't see the color in anything. After that summer, I was a man with a mission. Despite the distance and the years, I wanted to become a man that you would be proud of.
