After having spent years trapped on the island of the nymph Calypso,
Ulysses, guided by the stars, took the boat to return to Ithaca.
But Ulysses would not have succeeded in traversing Poseidon's kingdom without stirring his wrath.
Because he still had much resentment for the hero,
He had not attended the divine assembly that had ordered the return of King Ithac to his home.
The sea began to stir,
And Ulysses had to use all his sailing skills to face the waves.
The terrible ordeal imposed by Poseidon on Ulysses had made him jealous of the heroes dead at the gates of Troy.
If he had fallen there, he would have been celebrated by his men and not suffered the death without glory that awaited him.
A great wave submerged the boat, throwing Ulysses into the water.
He fought to rise above the waves, but everything indicated that this would be his end.
He was about to give up when a female figure appeared and his desire to live was renewed.
Ulysses emerged to the surface and managed to fill his lungs with air while re-challenging the salt water he had swallowed.
And over the wreckage of his boat, he saw a beautiful woman who could only be a goddess.
This goddess of the seas was Leucothée, a divinity who had once been a mortal.
That is why she understood the suffering of men.
She told Ulysses to remove his tougher, which made swimming more difficult, and also offered him her handkerchief.
Leucothée assures him that this handkerchief will help him reach his destination safely.
Ulysses dyed the handkerchief against his chest, as the goddess had advised, then swam to the Pheasians' Berge.
Poseidon was delighted, this man had already suffered too much torment in the past.
The time had come to make sure that the will stated by the council of the gods became a reality.
Poseidon could no longer hunt the king of Ithaca.
Ulysses used all his strength to reach the beach and almost died when he was thrown from the sea against the rock.
But finally, he was protected by a land of hospitality.
His first act, when he returned to the land, was to hand over the handkerchief of the goddess Leucothée to the sea.
She had saved her from certain death.
The hero slept on a bed of branches in the forest, gathering strength before going to seek help in these unknown lands.
The next morning, he woke up to the sound of a female voice.
She seemed to evoke the pleasure of games.
Between the trees, Ulysses spotted a group of young girls playing with a ball.
One of them stood out from the others.
The hero realized that she must be the oldest among them.
And that she could certainly tell him on what land he was.
But the fact that he wasn't stopped him from approaching her.
Ulysses advances towards the young girls, using a leafy branch to hide his masculine attributes.
The girls were surprised by the scene they witnessed.
Only the young woman with the noble and beautiful appearance was not.
Ulysses kneels before the young woman and says,
I don't know if you're a goddess or a mortal.
If you are a goddess, you could be Artemis,
Who stands out for her beauty and beauty among all the beautiful nymphs in her suite.
If you are a mortal, then your parents are blessed to have brought into the world a daughter who has become so ravishing.
Flattée, the young woman told him that her name was Nausicaa.
She decided to help the man, demanding his servants give him a toga.
Dressed in a beautiful robe, Ulysses resembled another man.
He was different from the pariah the young girls had seen when he arrived.
Nausicaa was captivated by this elegant and seductive man.
She wished to present him to her father, the king Alcinous des Féassiens,
Thinking he might act there as his future husband.
The princess pointed to Ulysses the way to the city of the Fessians,
But don't accompany her, because it would be bad for her to appear in town with a man.
At the gates of the city, Ulysses prayed for the gods to protect him.
And don't let any other barbarians take him away from his son.
With Athena's protection, the hero could enter the palace without being bothered because he was a stranger.
On arrival at the palace, he kneels before the Queen Arrêtée, asking her for help to return home.
Touched, the queen asked the king to offer all his hospitality to the visitors, as Zeus demanded.
The king decided to grant her request.
On the day of Ulysses's death, and the next day, great festivities were held in honor of the gods.
Athletic games were organized to demonstrate the strength and talent of the Féassiens.
Ulysse also uses his own dispositions in participating in the lance de disques.
At the banquet held to honor the guest, the haite sang the great achievements of the Greeks during the Trojan War.
Ulysses listened to the poet with admiration, his inspiration having been breathed into him by the muses.
He celebrates the deeds of great heroes in such a profound way that it seems he was there during the war.
Ulysses wept, remembering the war that he had kept away from his land and his beloved family for so long.
King Alcinos, who did not know until then that his guest was one of the heroes celebrated by the hatred,
I asked him why his stories moved him so much.
Ulysses replied to the king that he would explain everything, but that he didn't know where to begin.
The hero took a great inspiration and finally revealed his identity.
He told him his name was Ulysses, king of Ithaca,
who had fought for ten years alongside the bravest men, before the great walls of Troy.
Everyone was amazed by his revelation.
