Card Sleights by Shin Lim

Welcome back to the vault. Happy New Year. This time around we're taking a look at one of Shin Lim's go-to card routines when somebody hands him a deck of cards. And of course, you need to learn that. So Sky Member Presents and Shin Lim got together and brought out this incredible download. It's fast, quick, visual, effective card magic at its finest. Enjoy. Go ahead. Mix it up. Now, it doesn't matter that you're shuffling it actually because what I'm going to do is I'm going to find three cards. They're not very important right now. Get back to them later. Just make sure I don't touch them. Okay. So you know you put the sharpie right on top. Just keep your eye on that. And my hands. And my face. Okay. So that's a lot of things to look forward to. Now as you can see, every single card is different. Yes. Well, you shuffled the deck. Yes. I'm going to riffle down like this. And you're just going to say stop whenever you want. Okay? There? All right. Take a look at the card. Make sure there's a camera. I don't want to look. All right. Now, the cool thing about magic is that you can actually move the card wherever you want. So let's say I have the card right over here. It's about, I think, 25 cards into the deck. What did you say? Halfway? Something like that. Move it right down to the bottom. Wait, wait, no. But what if I move it to the top? I can just go up. No! And it's not on the bottom. You checked? Fine, fine. I'm going to check, I'm going to check. This is a hard spectator. Wow, okay. Yeah, I'll do it one more time. One more time, one more time. Like I said, it's all about moving the ink. Moving the ink. Yeah, because cards are made out of ink. So I'll show you what I mean. We take a random card. All right. So this is obviously not the card. We can actually change it. One, two, three. Watch, I take the queen, I place it into the deck. Can you shuffle the cards again? Can you shuffle it? Give it a mix. Actually, no, I have to make it appear underneath this box right here like this. The queen again. Is it in here? Check again if you want to check. Is it in here? I don't know. Why is it not in here? Because I'm really good. Okay, so... Did I touch those cards? No. You kept an eye on it, right? Yes. You promise? Yes, I did. The entire way. How many queens are there in a deck? One. I mean, four. Yeah. One queen of spades. There's one queen of spades, but there's four queens, right? Yeah. Remember, we can move anything we want. And you picked any card. That's why on the table I have one. I could have sworn I sorted queens inside. I know. But you know what? And you don't have to clap yet because I'm not done yet. Okay. I told you, we can move the queen anywhere we want. So watch. I can take the queen. Remember, it's made out of ink, right? Yeah. You pick any card you wanted to. If I chose any place, I could put the queen. I think on my chest would be a pretty good place to put it. Right over there. You can touch it if you want. But it's $60 if you touch those. Oh no! Can I touch it again? No, that's another $60. Watch. Wait. I can take the ten of spades, which is obviously not the queen. I rub it on the queen, and it changes back on the queen. The tattoo's still there, though. But don't worry about it. Watch. We'll take the one last time. Okay, can the camera see that? Yeah. Okay, cool. It's about halfway into the deck, as you can see. Now, I'm going to be as fair as possible. Your card's on the bottom. It's not on top. So it's obviously somewhere in the middle. All right. Now, you probably think I'm using my sleeves or whatever. So I'm going to rub it on. Uh-huh. Wait. What? Okay. Don't touch it. That's disgusting. So we'll just leave it like that. Wow. You don't want to touch my hand? That's okay. Wow, okay. That was really good.
