This channel covers a lot of motorcycle vlog type of content. We talk about all things motorcycles, product review, video editing, and cinematic type of sequences. I ride a 2020 Harley Davidson Road Glide Special and we travel to as many motorcycle rallies and other events throughout the year
Definitely insane. One of the top roads I've ever been on.
Hello and welcome back to another video. We'll call it a bonus video. I know the 12 Days Behind
Bar series is over but I thought I would just bring you one more bonus as we are going to go
through Highway 12 through Lolo Pass. It's 200 miles of scenic twisty road. Let's get started.
The City Center Motel. I will tell you, I was highly impressed. You know, I was a bit skeptical
after my last motel experience but that was actually really really nice. Staff was great,
room was great, like no problems. So we do have a couple things we have to address this morning.
I'm gonna ride the bike for, I don't know, 10 minutes or so and I gotta check the oil.
If you guys have been following this channel you know that this bike and some of the M8s,
they eat oil on these longer trips. We were in 101 degree temperatures yesterday,
you know, maintaining somewhat high revs and usually when I'm doing different elevation
changes and temperature changes like that, this bike needs to probably get a quart of oil.
Oil looks good. It's a little dirty but the level looks all right. I've only had to put
one quart in almost 5,000 miles. That's better than I was doing before.
It's a little brisk this morning. I had to put on my hoodie. Okay, seriously y'all,
I've made it all about, I don't know, four miles into this this route and I had to
already stop and tell you that this is absolutely breathtaking.
This is unbelievable. Just the green and just how thick that brush actually is,
is amazing. And we have many more miles to go.
This is gonna go down definitely in my top three roads of all time.
Beartooth Pass is amazing. I love Beartooth Pass. This is like Spearfish Canyon on steroids.
Absolutely amazing. Some of these b-roll sequences are going to be a little bit longer just because
I want to show more of this to you guys and I'll try to just fill you in on my thoughts as we go
along. But I mean, I want you to look at how thick all this greenery is and just imagine the smells
right now. Just think about the senses that you would smell right here. Because whatever you're
thinking about, it's probably not even doing it justice. It is amazing. All right, let's continue
on. I mean the wildlife, if I was a deer or pretty much any animal, this is where I would want to live.
And the deer, I mean you just saw that deer was just standing right there in the middle of the
roadway just chilling. I mean it's a good thing I was just paying attention and just taking in
the views and not trying to whip it around turns because that dude was just hanging out in the
middle of the roadway. I mean you got this river. I just want to take a fly rod and go fly fishing
right in here. Oh my gosh. I wish, I hope that the camera is going to do it some type of justice
because this is absolutely gorgeous and I just want to spend all day here. I mean I'm pretty
much ham. I still got several hundred miles to go through this but it is absolutely insane. I just
want to stop and fly the drone and take photos and just do a whole bunch of stuff here. I don't
have the time but I'm about ready to say forget the time. I'll play catch up a little bit later
but this is insane. Definitely insane. One of the top roads I've ever been on. Oh boy, so rad.
All right. Seriously if this is not picture perfect, I don't know what is. I'm grabbing my
camera and I just want to get just a rad portrait. So I know I just, I have no words right now.
I really don't have, you know, I don't have a way of explaining this
that would make sense. There is a little bit of haze from the fires. I believe it's the Canada
fires that's causing all this but it is absolutely amazing. This area right here has all just been
freshly repaved which is really nice but the entire road so far, I mean the grip has been
great. The road conditions, I mean you can imagine this place gets covered in snow
and they do a fantastic job of maintaining these roads.
They are smooth as butter and sticky and grippy. So holy smokes, I would have been so heartbroken
if I didn't take the 12. Like I'm almost, I'm not done technically at the time of shooting this
video with day 12 of the 12 Days Behind Bars and I just want to hurry up and get that done so I can
edit this video and get this out here because you guys just need to see this.
Man oh man oh man. Yeah, the wife and I are definitely coming back here. She has to see
this road. We have to make that happen. That's almost top priority right now. Unbelievable.
Well, this is not a bad way to spend your day. I can tell you that much right now.
Just unbelievable. Alright, there's a bridge right here. I'm in, I'm in heaven right now.
We're gonna go get some photographs. Okay, I'm taking you guys with me on a
small little adventure hike to this bridge that I saw that I have to get photos of.
This is how you just get those bangers. I mean, this is not going to be a photograph of the
motorcycle by any means, but it's going to be rad. Unless I get eaten by a bear.
This is freaking cool. Look at that. Oh man.
You guys, this is crazy. Alright, let's get back to the bike before we actually really do get eaten
by a bear. I seriously can't wait to edit these photos. So you're gonna have to just trust me when
I tell you that this is consistent. It does not change for several hundred miles. I think it's
200 miles total. It stays just like this. There is not going to be frames that I use more than
once at all. This is just how it is. And it's unbelievable. So if there's one road you need to
ride, put this on the top of your list. Like no doubt, this is the road you need to ride. And we
hit it at the perfect time. We hit it right at like 7 30 in the morning. It was just perfect. The sun
was perfect. Lighting is perfect. But I could take photos all day just right here. So cool.
You guys can let me know in the comments if you've been on this road because I'd be curious.
I may have driven this road when I was a kid with my dad, but I'll have to check with him if we ever
actually drove this road. Because when you're a kid you don't appreciate this stuff. But on a motorcycle
as an adult, man. Look at this.
All right. So I know I said it several times. An absolute incredible ride. So fantastic. Let me see
what town I'm in. I am in Kamiya and I'm gonna grab some food and then we'll continue west.
We might make it all the way to Seal Rock and start Pacific Coast Highway tomorrow. I don't know.
This is awesome. All right. So it's warming up now. I'm just gonna continue on the 12. I'm not
sure if I'll make it all the way to Portland, but we'll just continue pushing on down the road and
taking the scenery. Let's go. All right. So on that last stretch of road on the 12,
one of the things that I will tell you is that I did, let's count it because I've only got one,
I did 187 miles on that road and it was all consistent. And for 187 miles I did not have
music on once. And that's crazy. You guys know me and my music. Love it. But it was just so
beautiful that I thought that music might even take away from that experience. So we're gonna
continue on the 12. I have no idea where it goes from here, but we're not even a mile out of town
I felt something crawling around and I went to go shake my head and boom, got me right in the ear.
That sucks. All right, let's get something to drink. It's bloody hot. All right. So I've been
on this route for 35 miles. It's been all the same, right against this river here. It's been
nice except for the temperature has increased dramatically. And I'm looking at 99.6 degrees. So
that is pretty warm. Gonna break triple digits here. So this has a different feel than the first
one that I was doing as there was a lot more trees on both sides. And now this one has this
open area. It's still beautiful, still gorgeous. I'm sure it'd be absolutely amazing if I did at
the exact same time. But this heat makes me want to pull the bike over and jump in the river.
But yeah, I can see why we went from really green to really, really brown because it is freaking
boiling. Even my phone is acting up. At the beginning it started saying unable to charge,
has to wait to cool down. Now like apps won't load. It's kind of fidgeting all around. It's
overheating for sure. All right, I'm going to keep moving on here. I'm going to get out of this
area right now because it's terrible. And then we'll get right back to the regularly scheduled
programming. Now, of course, as soon as I just said that, we just crossed the state line into
Washington. So I can now check that box for Washington as a place the motorcycle has been.
We are just knocking out the states. This is actually going to circle us back around to the
12. So let's get back on the 12, which has been nice to us all day long. And then we'll continue
pushing on. Here we go.
In seven miles, we're actually going to be done with Highway 12, which means that we were on
Highway 12 for 360 miles. And I would say out of the 360 miles, 300 of it was the most amazing
riding that I've ever had. It was just constant, as you guys saw. And if you made it this far along
in the video and you haven't subscribed yet, what are you waiting for? I mean, you made it all this
way and give yourself a pat on the back. I thank you. We still have a few miles left to get to
Salem, which is my goal now all of a sudden. And I think I'm going to try to hit that.
It'll depend on lighting and what have you. But we went through four states, four states today, so.
So this is really pretty through here. However, I'm going to tell you, it smells like feet.
It's not a good smell. And the humidity is pretty strong, but I'll take it because the temperatures
have cooled down dramatically. But yeah, the smell, just imagine dirty feet. That's what I'm
smelling right now. I think I can almost taste it. I need to apologize to the waterway and
everything that I just said, because it doesn't smell like feet because of the water. I'm following
a rig full of pigs, and I'm pretty sure that's going to be the culprit.
So they were kind of out of sight for a little bit, but I've just been
sucking in this trailer that's filled with wildlife. We're going to get around them.
Yeah, those are pigs. It's amazing. It smells better already. All right, guys, I'm going to go
ahead and just end this right here. I want to thank you for watching this series. Thank you
for watching this bonus video. Leave a comment down below. You can start the series at episode
one by clicking on this link right over here, or you can check out Every Mile a Memory down below.
Folks, until next time, you ride safe, you be safe, and I'll catch you on the next one.
