Sportsline to Robertson.
What a challenge from the Everton captain, Tarkovsky.
Here's Calvert-Lewin, around as he's signed Tommy!
Has a penalty after five minutes.
Now this is going to be controversial.
Yellow card for Alisson.
Dick Couret didn't challenge for the ball here,
but will he be deemed to be active?
Is it the same for Calvert-Lewin?
Is he also in an offside position?
And if so, they might take it back
and not bring the penalty that was awarded into play.
Penalty has not been rubber stamped yet.
If it is judged offside, then that yellow card will be rescinded.
Everton were hoping that they were going to get a glorious start here.
Big sigh of relief for Liverpool.
It looks like a correct decision.
McAllister, looking for Salah, in around the back, and Mikalenko!
Away from the corner, so close to Liverpool taking the lead at Goodison.
Ben Godfrey, absolutely fantastic defending from him.
This is an absolutely delicious little ball over the top to find Mo Salah.
Mikalenko was like a statue, but Godfrey covered the ground
and dealt with it, and it is absolutely brilliant
because it looked like a certain Liverpool goal.
McAllister, Everton smothering space in the midfield.
McAllister tries to rectify for losing the ball,
but he gives away a free kick,
and it's another set-piece opportunity for Everton.
He certainly went down quite easily, Harrison, to get the decision from the referee.
Flooded in by McNeil, Tarkovsky, Calvert-Lewin!
Harrison, point-blank save for the Brazilian keeper.
And another reminder of how dangerous Everton are from free kicks like that.
Well, I'm just surprised because Tarkovsky just nudged Van Dijk
to enable him to get his head to it first,
and Van Dijk didn't really show enough aggression to resist.
April has been a solid month for Everton so far.
Seven points taken from four games.
Before that, Sean Dyche's team had only picked up five points
I mean, Everton are being clever here as well
because they're using any contact to hit the floor,
and they know that it gives them a chance of getting a set-piece into the box.
Brantwaite, McAllister, time and again Everton are winning those first balls.
This is Harrison, Godfrey!
Blocked again by Robertson, Brantwaite!
I mean, initially he actually misheads it.
He doesn't get good contact on it,
but he picks himself up and hangs around on the far post.
And with the ricochets, I think it's his goal
because it spins off Alisson onto the post,
and it just carries it over the line before Calvert-Lewin can follow it up.
And on this occasion, it certainly looks like Everton do have definitely a 1-0 lead.
We'll wait for this game to restart to be absolutely sure.
This is the concern.
With the initial ball in, this tortured wait for Evertonians.
This season, it's taken the roof off Gunnarsson.
Now we see what Liverpool's title hopes are made of.
Diaz tries his luck on the right wing.
The hunger is still there from the Everton defence though.
McAllister, Salah, Darwin Nunes!
It was straight at the goalkeeper.
In the Premier League, in a derby, that's as clear-cut as you get.
It is, and when you consider, you know,
when he does finish well, he usually finds the corner.
I mean, that's at the goalkeeper, and he has a lot of room to pick for his right.
Lovely little touch from Salah as well to set him up.
Liverpool trailing in a game they need to win for the title race,
and Everton delighted to be in front in their bid to remain in the Premier League.
Darwin Nunes, Luis Diaz!
Again, straight at Pickford.
Another huge chance for Liverpool.
Yeah, listen, Pickford getting in the way is very important,
but Liverpool are making it that bit more easy for him.
And again, there was room either side,
and it's just gone down the middle at the keeper.
Picks out McNeil, good accuracy for Everton.
It's a cruise in space on the far side,
hovering across Virgil van Dijk.
Salah can't hold on to it again.
Young to Amundsen.
Everton, their belief growing all the time here.
Still a long way to go.
McNeil, urge to shoot!
Oh, he put some welly into that!
That's just drummed up the Goodison enthusiasm another notch.
Certainly got more height on that.
That wasn't dissimilar to the position he was in
when he scored against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
This is the first time Everton have had a corner tonight.
Some pieces have been problematic
for Liverpool's defence so far this evening.
Calvin Lewin's going to leap.
Great header!
One-stroke Everton have been tonight,
and it's now three goals in his last four games
for Dominic Calvin Lewin
on a simply huge night at Goodison Park.
Well, the problem is really for Calvin Lewin
is that nobody's even challenged him.
He's had a free run, he's just eased in round the back.
Alexander-Arnold hasn't even attempted to challenge him.
And he does the absolute textbook thing and headed down,
and there's nothing Alisson is going to do about it.
And that could be a set-piece sinker for Liverpool.
Everton are doing what they need to do for now.
I mean, I think if Liverpool come up with three goals to win this,
I think it will probably eclipse
what they managed against Barcelona that night
and Borussia Dortmund.
San Etienne.
Here's Diaz!
Oh, it comes back off the post!
That is as close as Liverpool have been.
Yeah, well, I remember kind of saying things like
it's not their day when they play Palace,
and it would seem as if
the same might be happening again here at Goodison.
...begin to make the shrill whistles.
They want to hear the final blow of that whistle from the referee.
Diaz, Salah!
Saved by Pickford!
That's been the cleanest strike from Mo Salah tonight.
Champagne on ice.
Lost a game here at Goodison.
The Everton celebrations will be long,
and they will be loud.
Everton have beaten Liverpool by two goals to nil at Goodison.
