Is the Highway 20 Ride in Nebraska worth it? I decided to take my Harley-Davidson Road Glide out of the way to go and ride Highway 20. I wanted to see if the State of Nebraska had anything other than flat roads to ride a motorcycle.

This channel covers a lot of motorcycle vlog type of content. We talk about all things motorcycles, product review, video editing, and cinematic type of sequences. I ride a 2020 Harley Davidson Road Glide Special and we travel to as many motorcycle rallies and other events throughout the year.
All right, so we're just packing up right now. It is day 11 of the 12 Days Behind Bars series.
We're here in Nebraska, and we're going to check out that Highway 20 ride to see if it's worth it,
and I will give you my final thoughts when it's through. If it's pretty enough, we're going to
throw the drone in the air so you guys get a first-hand view. This is Nebraska, but let's
grab our stuff from the room and let's get on the road. All right, I am just grabbing stuff from the
no-tell motel that I stayed in last night. I'm pretty sure at one point in time somebody was
offed in this room because there's a very mysterious stain. I don't even want to know.
I don't know. Maybe I've watched too many movies. Let's get going. But hey, I didn't get offed last
night, so that's a good start to the day. After yesterday's debauchery with fuel, I don't care
that I'm three-quarters of a tank, I'm topping off. Not today, Nebraska. Not today. Well, it is
absolutely a gorgeous day in Nebraska, I will tell you that. Temperature is currently 71.6 degrees
and we're moving quite along. So we're currently on the beginning stretches of Highway 20 from
leaving Ballantyne, and we are now going to see if my initial thought process was right. So sit
back, relax, I'll catch up with you guys in just a few minutes after some B-roll shots. You know
how it goes. Let's crush some miles. Okay, so let me go ahead and just provide some initial thoughts.
I mean, we've only gone about 20 miles on this road. I'm glad to see it's got some minor, minor
changes of elevation, and there were some, you know, fast sweeping turns. I mean, that's a good start.
We're not even into what supposedly is the twisty part or the beautiful part just yet, but I'm
staying optimistic, as I said I would, trying to stay positive, open-minded. Let's just see where
Highway 20 takes us. You know, and if you've ever been through Nebraska, typically it's these
very long, like this is considered just a very short straightaway, because Nebraska, you almost
can see across the whole dang state when you go to the southern, you know, central southern parts of
So it's a good start. It's a good start. Those are my initial thoughts. All right, let's continue to crush those miles.
Yeah, I have no idea what is up over that ridge there, but I bet the drone can find out for me.
Let's get her up in the air. So I will tell you, and I don't know if it's just the cooler weather
or what, but this ride is actually pretty enjoyable. I mean, it's all nice and green
and, you know, you have these straightaways that are not too long. There's always some type of
sweeper going on. So again, so far I'm okay with this. I'm okay with this two-lane highway
just out here. I mean, it's just me. I don't see anybody around for a long ways.
There's nobody out here. It's just me. Before I get too far into this, I just want to let you guys know
that this is the 11th day in a row that I've put together and added, and I will say I'm proud of
myself. I'm doing way better than I thought I did. I thought I was going to be throwing in the
towel. It was going to be too much, but with that being said, I want you guys to know that day 12
is actually going to be delayed by probably two days, all because I have an idea for
that Dutton Ranch being day 12 and how I'm going to end this series.
So I am purposely going to delay day 12. So day 11, it'll be 11 videos straight,
and then we'll finish it up in a couple days. Quit 12 once I get the proper footage,
and then I'll have some additional bonus stuff on this trip going down PCH, and I'll probably get
to that maybe next week or something. I don't know, but getting these videos done on the road
has increased my workflow to the point where I'm able to do it a lot faster now and just start
crushing these out. So now I know for the future, and you can just expect to see probably a lot more
content on my channel when I get back home. But that's it. Let's continue on down the road.
We only have 87 octane. That ain't gonna work. It's legit getting cold. I had to put my hoodie on.
All right, we found some 91 octane, and now we're going to get up on the road.
So I just got some refreshments, and the clerk says no hail yet. I'm like, what? She said
somewhere around here it always hails. I'm hoping that what we're going towards is not hail.
She had to go and jinx it. Now I got to get into rain gear.
All right, so we're officially completed with Highway 20. So I'm just going to give you my
thoughts on it. One, it was better than I expected, and it definitely beat taking the 90 freeway. I
can tell you that much right now. If you're in the southern part of South Dakota or the northern part
of Nebraska and you need to go east to west or west to east, definitely think about taking the 20
versus the 90, because this is way better. On difficulty level, it was not that difficult at
all. I would put it on the easy category. Relatively smooth speeds. Pavement seems to be in
fairly decent shape, and up until this rain I was planning on getting some more drone shots for it,
but it's kind of out of the window. So we're going to continue on. I've got 272 more miles
to my destination, so let's get after it. There ain't no cars coming. We've all been there.
All right, so I'm going to get the rain jacket at least and get a little bit more comfortable,
but I need a cup of coffee, so we're taking a quick break. I just updated you guys on Instagram
with a live, had a cup of coffee, and now it's back on, and I think we're 247 miles away, and we're
going to be in Buffalo, Wyoming. Okay, time for my daily talking point here. You know, I look at all
these cars and people that are on these road trips, and I've passed cars. I've got families and what
have you, and I like driving a car too, and I like taking road trips, but doing it on a motorcycle
hits you completely different because I have not been bored once. There's not a moment on this trip
that I've actually been bored, and I'm approaching 4,000 miles. It's just there's something about it
that is completely different. I have a feeling that if I did the same trip in a car,
there would be moments of boredom for sure, but on a motorcycle it just doesn't happen.
You're just taking in the scenery. You know, just being in that environment, as I said before,
just helps you enjoy the road, in my opinion. We are 57 miles away from our final destination today,
which is going to be Buffalo, Wyoming, but we're going to get a hotel room so that we can get into
Bozeman, Montana tomorrow. Well, that looks wet, and I think what I'm going to do is I'm going to
stop earlier rather than later, and let's just get our rain gear on now. So we actually just
missed the bad weather, but I found a place to stay here in Buffalo, Wyoming, so I'm going to
unload, and that's going to do it for today. This is day 11 of the 12 Days Behind Bars series. Guys,
I hope you guys are enjoying this series. This officially ends my consecutive streak,
so 11. 11 videos in a row. Not bad. All right, guys. Until next time, I hope you ride safe,
you be safe, and I'll catch you on the next one.
