Storyline:
As the opening of chapter nine of Shadow of the Eagle reveals, the carnival owner, Gregory, is merely knocked unconscious. Craig points a finger at a very suspicious Major Evans, but the wily director instead accuses Green, another member of the board. Through trickery and deception, the bill of sale that may reveal the identity of The Eagle is passed back and forth between Evans, Green, and Craig with the latter emerging the victor. Unfortunately, The Eagle's henchmen are hiding in the getaway car and during a furious struggle for possession of the slip, Craig is thrown right in the path of an oncoming automobile.
