5 Crafts You Can Sell This Holiday Season [You’re not too late!]

spending Trends with 90% of marketers saying that it makes a huge difference to their profitability right Kimberly says who doesn't want to make a little extra money right me too too gosh y'all know I probably have seven or 10 different income streams but I'm telling y'all when I see that Etsy pays me like y'all I have an Etsy shop that makes money I I make a I make a good amount of money doing what I do but there's just something so special that I love when our Etsy Shop makes money it is so fun right even if you have a day job making money through your Creations so special so important I love it okay I just want to invite you personalization if you are ready to get your hands dirty make some amazing projects you're willing to sell personalization will help you sell so much better right everybody wants their kids name on stuff amen all right so let's go ahead and dive into some of the things that you could sell number one why is my page doing this should not do this number one personalize ornaments so you might be saying Tanner okay you should do I should do something personal right personalized is in personalized is in what should I do well my friends I think you should start with some ornaments and here is the thing here's what I want you to understand when you work with me when you really apply what I teach when you apply the philosophy apply the principles when you take the projects that are on my membership maker is going to learn when you take our YouTube Channel videos when you take the amazing high quality projects y'all we spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in staff to come up with these ideas so that you don't have to we spend lots of money developing files so you don't have to we give you commercial license so you don't have to go out and like buy it or like go other places right so if you're a member um it is just so important to be aware of that right but here's what I want you to understand um you need to charge what you are worth and a lot of you wonder what you're worth and that's why I have passive earner system Society to help you really figure out your pricing okay and we're going to talk about price for every single Project tonight but I just want to offer personalized ornaments is such a great way to quickly easily make some amazing projects and sell them and the project on the right is silhouette of my son Carson and it has his name and it has the year all right it has this beautiful frame I have a full project tutorial you know for this coming out you'll be able to see exactly how we did it exactly how we made it um there's just not a good reason not to use this there's not a good reason not to promote this and make one and then just start selling them all right another super simple one is to the left the Griffiths which I adore this is more of like a resiny project uh it is super super fun this resiny project again you've got the resin ornament you've got a little glitter action you um you know you've got your vinyl super super easy project to do right either of these projects could be created in 45 minutes to let's say an hour and 10 to 20 minutes all right so you can 45 minutes to an hour and a half all right the material for each of these would be very minimal right not much at all all right now here's what I want you to see do you guys see the pricing down here I'm just go zoom in so you can really see this um $30 is what someone is uh uh here and you know is charging for $30 some people in this room would be like why would someone pay and charge $30 how how is somebody charging $30 for this here's what I want you to understand they're not you they are not you and what why I want you to like really sit with this and like consider it is because guess what they're not you and when they are not you here's what I want you to understand people that are going pay this are not a crafter right people that are go pay this are not Crafters so notice that like if you feel like your price is too expensive that you would never pay this you are not the person we're trying to sell to my friend right Diane just said I was would be saying that too why would people pay this amount who would pay to have their baby's face on a silhouette ornament this is priceless to me this is priceless to me because um it is so special and it's from a picture and we turn it into a silhouette and we added the year and we added the name and it's beautiful right you and I look at this this and be like why would I pay $30 well you wouldn't pay this right you wouldn't pay this because you know how to make it and I think this is a really big important disclaimer your price would not be something that you would buy because you already have the tools you already have the knowledge you already have the information you know how how to make this and even if you didn't know you know how to find figure it out you know how to come to people like me and learn from it right so notice that if you have been hesitant to charge truly what you feel like you're worth is probably because you wouldn't pay for it and I invite you to be okay with knowing you wouldn't pay for it because you are a crafter remember the people that are going to pay you are the people that's like I have no idea what a cricket is I I like have no interest in learning what a cricket is I have no desire to know what a cricket is like all of those reasons are the reasons that you would just pay someone like these are the people they're different than us they're not us like I'm I'm not trying to sell any of this right here right I wouldn't try to sell you on this live stream wouldn't be like oh would you want me to make you a personalized ornament for $30 or like $40 send me a picture of your kit because you'd be like why would I have pay Tanner to do that no I'm not paying Tanner who we're looking for are non craptors and I really want you to hit that home a lot of my passive earners students can't believe that um we here charge $40 for a sweatshirt that we could make and it would be like the quickest shirt we ever made and we get paid $40 $38 for a sweatshirt with like one line of text one beautiful line of text and people are what like that's the crazy thing like simple celles because the people that are buying it aren't crafters and I just want you all to really hit home with that so personalized ornaments such a fantastic thing to be offering this year Susan says there are people that pay $5,000 for a pair of shoes $30 is nothing for them okay can we just have this conversation real fast I am a fan of Lululemon if you've never been to Lululemon don't go I accidentally went once when I needed a pair of shorts and the brand I wore they stopped making them so this was in 2019 I walked into that store and the Lululemon so they got me in y'all they got me all right I got like four items and it was like $600 what I was like this I walked out I was like what have I done should I go get a refund and I recently went to Lululemon on like two days ago and got some items and after I left I went directly to Target which I went to the clothing section I felt like all the clothes there was like free it was so awesome it was so awesome I was like oh my gosh this shirt's only $10 this this was a lulon shirt um but I was like oh my gosh this is like only $10 what like you can choose your price and it will call in different people now if you're like my wife she will get really excited to go to a thrift store and come home and show me the bags of things she got and she like Tanner guess how much I spent and I'm like I don't know how much and she's like $26 like she gets really excited over that so there's a demographic and there is demand for everything there is a demand to be really expensive in the market and there's demand to be very affordable and there's demand to be really cheap and I will tell you that you get a different experience at every level and I appreciate every single level I appreciate buying used stuff off Facebook marketplace right we just got the boys you know like the remote not the remote control but like the uh big cars that they get to drive with the battery we didn't buy those new we bought them on Facebook right we bought an Airbnb in Florida and we weren't going to buy our kids brand new toys Courtney bought them all on Facebook and it was so fun like we love that and I love expensive things who don't it's a balance so yes people will pay you what you want to charge if you are willing to show up and give them that experience right one thing I'll say about Lulu Lemon the reason why I go back there even though they charge astronomical is that the pair of shorts I bought from them in 2019 when I put them on it feels like I we putting them on for the first time people will pay for quality and now more than ever people want a a unique experience people want to support handmade people want custom and people love it right if you think about why people you know are there's this huge movement to eat like really clean food and to support makers and all of that the people that are doing this it's not want to save money it cost so much more to buy organic it cost so much more I ordered some local like meat like chicken meat it was like $20 it was almost $20 per pound I'm like I could buy chicken at Walmart for like four or five dollars a pound I think like maybe $6 like people that are supporting you and wanting to support Artisans and people that are doing handmade items they want to support you right very very important so if you are not getting the price you want make sure you're marketing to the right people make sure you're letting people know what they're actually getting right super super important you can charge $5,000 or $50 right so important love it okay personalized ornaments so fun next up custom Christmas p J's here's what I want to say about this number one super quick number two super easy to make and Timeless but the most important part I want you to hear me in this discussion is that guess what they're not going to buy just one they're going to buy and as a seller you should Market this as a set you should should Market this as a set so that you will be able to see that um you know you're marketing it as like you're going get three or four however many people are in the family group right you can easily take pajamas and add someone's name to it to make a really fun set and help people have a really really awesome handmade holiday right that's what I love love love about this idea when it comes to um pajamas is that you can do this for uh you know really really quick cash INF Fusion really a great way to just add you know words onto a set of pajamas they could provide the pajamas you could already like Market the pajamas that you want to offer and just add the names on it it is super super fun yes I love it love it love it so good Cara you'll have to look and see what type of pajamas they offer on print on demand um I was offering this as like a really easy way to get like a cash infusion um and like start getting sales like right away so I was thinking more of like what crafts you might just want to start selling locally or anything like that to make cash for the holidays sometimes when we are um going to go ahead and do print on demand we know it takes a little bit time to get ranked and search so it's kind of like a twart you know strategy here so love it Kathy I would not order the pajamas until the order came in and they paid some sort of deposit so like a 50% deposit I would say and then Mark this up enough to where you're making like 50% 40 to 50% after the you know after your supplies so they have a good profit margin super super important um yeah I I love it you know there's ways that you can sell your crafts and make a lot locally like doy inside our community she makes I don't want to say so much I mean I'll brag on her doy if you're watching she makes so much money selling crafts having fun fulfilling orders and here's the thing she loves it she not only works a full-time job she run she has a side gig and if you count working with us she has another side gig so she has like four different things going on she runs it out of a Facebook group and she sublimates and makes all sorts of amazing projects locally so you can have literally whatever type of business you want to have right so so good love it love it love it Kathy you can go wherever like if it was me I don't know if you've got Christmas pajamas lately but Old Navy is the place to be when it comes to Christmas pajama sets usually so uh check your email I'm sure there's a discount if you're an Old Navy Shopper again I love a good deal I love a good deal so anyway super super fun Christmas pajamas do not skimp out next up y'all this is crazy crazy crazy crazy where's my sublimator at where is my sublimator at this one's for you sublimation name boards sublimation name boards when we designed this project I was like holy cow this is my favorite sublimation projects I ever seen will my kids learn to write their name can they write their name it too like that's how I was feeling okay I was like they have to they have to have to have to these are selling y'all you're going flip out these are selling for $25 a pop $25 boom look at this $25 super super good um and this was on a little sale just 10% off so it's not much okay I love these I think they're so special you could sell so many of these like so good we actually made this one we have a video on it um so adorable he Carson loves his excavators and is like all all the different things so um super fun such a great way to make money such a great way to you know offer these to your community um in your your network whether it's on Etsy or locally such a great thing you can profit $15 per board or let's say you're not a sublim I have something for you too say you don't sublimate all right say you don't sublimate you could sell this as a digital file this is just a whiteboard yes it's a sublimation ready whiteboard if you do not sublimate you could design this you could design this and offer it as an SVG did you know that our very own Alicia Griffith has an Etsy shop with over two 200 Sales selling svgs her svgs are dang good too I love that um uh super super good yeah you would have to order the boards to sublimate on um we have a video on it so you can check that out too but uh yeah super super fun and then I wanted to brag on our very own stie Lewis stie louw has a shop and she talks about and designs posters just designs them and sells the file it's your responsibility to send it to the burner what she she came into the office like week before last I was like Tanner I made $90 yesterday I was like what she's like I made $90 yesterday just on my Etsy shop from strangers I was like this is crazy and then we both at the same time was like wait until you do that every day I was like you won't even want to work for me anymore you'll just want to work on your Etsy Shop like I don't like this super super fun so I love it and no matter if you like whatever your circumstances this holiday season if you're too busy to make these Crafts sell digital if you're too busy to make these crafts do print on demand if you don't know which one you want to do like do whatever you can do right don't think that you're excluded someone told me like um recently they were like oh I'm not selling a lot so I'm not ready for print on demand that's you're missing the point you want to use print on demand so that you get a promotion to work on designing more and if you're curious about print on demand I am on fire more than ever for print on demand and I'll I'll share more about it at the end um but is the quickest way to get you started making money which I love to help people do to tap fishing what an interesting username here's your shout out congratulations you got it so anyway love it love it love it next up is embroidered items our print on demand providers also just started offering uh some amazing amazing embroidered items so we just kind of wanted to give a little shout out here for embroidery for embroidered items you can see the trending inspiration dat of girls you can see the version that we designed really quickly um such a great idea for you guys to be able to do look at this look at this so we looked at some data you can see you know we there's some really good stuff happening about $30 you know retail price 26 profit is right at 11 with a profit margin of 40 y'all this is what I want you to understand your profit margin needs to be 40% and if you just cannot fathom that people would be able to pay you enough to where you can make a 40% margin you need to work on your thoughts around this can I tell you that if you are not making money if you are not making a profit when you are selling something you are just doing it for free right like that's serious stuff like you have to make a profit do not feel guilty about making a profit notice how you feel when you think about making 40% profit right so exciting it's so important and maybe you don't think it's possible because um you haven't made a profit yet and what I want to invite you to do is to stop thinking of yourself as the Dollar Tree clientele and move your business to I won't even say it has to be like Lululemon level let's just move it up to like a Target level like you want a high quality buyer all right you you want a highquality buyer like Here's my thought when I launched my membership in 2017 there was no other craft membership out there at my price point now my price point for my craft membership if you want to learn how to use your craft machines your diecutting machines get all of my 15,000 plus pieces of art commercial license y y y back then it was $19 month no one had done it it was double it was double what other craft memberships like it were and what that did was it called up a new level of buyer that was more serious more committed and more ready to craft it was so good I loved being that in the marketplace I was a luxury you paid for it and when you pay you pay attention period and we were super successful but I got to help people explain why that why it is why am I more expensive why am I not $7 a month why am I not $9 a month well because I offer a lot more than those that are seven or $9 a month easy as that um super important Victoria I want to be Nordstrom level okay if you want to be Nordstrom level are you willing to show up and not only charge the price but you have to not just talk the talk you got to walk the walk what would Nordstrom quality B the craftsmanship is perfect the return um the return policies are perfect the shipping is perfect the packaging is perfect it's white glove across the board right so so important so so important Cheryl you want to look that up I'm not entirely sure um I'd have to go back so yes love it okay bspoke says thank you for giving me the confidence to start my own business in January listen if you're waiting for the new year to on a huge uptick all right embroidery is on a ginormous uptick embroidery uh Trends I wanted to see if there was any like data that I could quickly pull embroidery is booming okay people want to wear embroidery people love it people are dying for it um yeah so that's why they've added embroidery for print on demand and it is just so so fun um but yeah it just makes it scream handmade to me which I adore all right so if you're wanting to consider doing some embroidered items I think holiday embroidered items would be so fun like this Holly Jolly shirt like guys you need the Holly Jolly shirt you need it I need it you need it like we all need it okay so again make sure there's a good profit margin uh make sure you're doing some really fun stuff look up and see what things people are doing so like you could go to Etsy um and you can see on here all the different embroidered options I'm just go top in Christmas embroidery designs okay let's see what they got oh my gosh hold on let me exit out of this so look this is I think just a download oh my gosh this is just embroidered downloadable this is the little turkey the chickens with the lot o so fun super super fun so let's T in shirts or hoodies or sweatshirts I know I'm always talking about sweatshirts oh my gosh the doggy super super fun Mary that's loadable um all the all the love all the fun all the fun okay so anyway super great super super great um okay the last one that I want to just inspire you with okay the last one I want inspire you with is baby swaddles we just got a sample of these in and oh my goodness oh my goodness this one's really good you guys do not want to miss out on this it is so fantastic so exciting to be able to um make these swaddles with these swaddles and I know you guys will be too all right I know it for a fact that you guys will be in love with these two um they're great quality everyone needs it yeah we got ours from um printify so yeah we actually like the Henry one like we we have like this is in our office now I'll tell you I have a note here from The Amazing Alicia graet she's saying that on here $25 is closer to the average price that they had from our research but it's only an 18% profit margin now if you want to do a 40% profit margin you would have to sell it at $35 if you're willing to meet in the middle if you're willing to lower if you're willing to do any of that um stuff right here you could sell it at $25 it's just only an 18% profit so you'd have to sell a lot more so essentially you would have to sell you know almost three to one so you might be like Tanner do I sell it for the higher price do I you know what do I do if it was me I would design one of these compete to be the best design out there right I would make it unique somehow so that people would pay the additional money to buy mine right and that's what I'm saying because I would rather have one person buy it and pay $35 then have to get three to only essentially pay me $5 all right so in this scenario where we're like we got we we're we're at a standstill like the research shows you know most people are selling it for cheaper and I want to get the most money well look you would have to sell it like three times to get the profit pretty much right or two you know two or three times over to make the same profit as just selling it for what you could at 40% what I would stop looking at here is like no I have to make at least 30 to 40% or it's not worth it for me to even list it that's that could be option one but I want to give you another option here's what I want to tell you you could say money Asad how do I design mine to be the best period how do I design mine to be the best period people will pay $10 more for mine that's the question you solve for that's the question because sometimes again you want to be the Nordstrom when everybody else is trying to be or you want to be Target when everyone else trying to be Dollar Tree and be okay with it I like being a little more expensive I think when you pay you like it more I think when you pay you show up I you know I think it's so I think it's so important for you to really consider for your client how can you make it better how can they spend 10 more dollars and get a way better product like that's what I want you to think about from your designing right when other ones in the market are cheaper or you can say no I don't want to do that right super super good so those are the ideas I have here is what I want to tell you if you have been considering joining passive earners Society our lifetime tier if you go lifetime you lock in the lowest renewal price so um the lowest renewal price so you have the option to renew but if let's say you just go monthly for a couple months it's like Netflix like our membership is like Netflix when you cancel you lose everything going lifetime you get the Core Curriculum and then as you continue through the program to year two um you lock in the lowest price
