Hey, I'm Milo, a four-year-old Corgi.
Today, I'm taking you on a tour of some amazing spots in Los Angeles, The Grove, Old Chinatown,
and Pasadena.
If you're curious about exploring these iconic locations and learning a bit about their history,
this video is perfect for you.
Los Angeles, often known as La-La-La Land, or the City of Angels, is a bustling metropolis
with a rich history and diverse culture.
Founded in 1781, it's the entertainment capital of the world, home to Hollywood and numerous
film studios.
Los Angeles is the second largest city in the USA, with a population of nearly 4 million
people.
This represents about 1.2% of the total U.S. population.
Geographically, LA is bigger in square miles, but smaller in population than NYC.
Walking through LA, I feel the vibrant energy of its people and places.
There's always something exciting happening here.
They have dog-friendly cafes, too.
Next, let's visit The Grove.
Opened in 2002, The Grove is a popular shopping and entertainment complex in Los Angeles.
It's designed to resemble a small town, with beautiful architecture, a charming trolley,
and a dancing fountain at its center.
I love exploring the various shops and enjoying the lively atmosphere.
The Farmer's Market next door, which dates back to 1934, adds a touch of history with
its fresh produce and local vendors.
When I visited there, so many people were eating lunch and talking a lot.
I met super nice people and they pet me.
Now, let's hop over to Old Chinatown.
Established in 1938, this historic area is known for its vibrant culture and delicious
cuisine.
The streets are filled with traditional Chinese architecture, colorful lanterns, and unique
shops.
However, many shops are closed now, reflecting a challenging history and economic struggles.
Despite this, Old Chinatown remains a significant cultural hub, showcasing the resilience and
rich heritage of the Chinese community and law.
I visited and saw the iconic Bruce Lee statue, which is a popular landmark in Chinatown.
Lastly, let's explore Pasadena.
Incorporated in 1886, Pasadena is known for its beautiful homes, historic sites, and cultural
institutions.
One highlight is Arlington Garden, located on the site of a former staging ground for
the 710 Freeway.
The freeway project was halted due to community opposition, and the empty lot was transformed
into a garden in 2005.
The garden promotes urban wildlife habitat and uses regenerative gardening techniques
without herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers.
It's a beautiful example of how a well-planned, water-wise garden can thrive in Southern California's
Mediterranean climate.
I also visited City Hall and saw people getting married.
Wow!
