Kenshi Yonezu
Song: Azalea
(Netflix Drama "Beyond Goodbye" Theme Song)

...

The theme song of the Netflix series "Beyond Goodbye" (さよならのつづき) is "Geun Ja Aw Kham La" (Too Much to Say Goodbye). Many people have probably seen it already.

It's an unexpected song. I was really surprised when it was announced because I didn't think a new song would come this fast. The album was just released in August.

The jacket cover was drawn by Yonezu himself, as usual. It's a white azalea with a blue background. Gives a nice winter mood.

The MV will be uploaded on YouTube tonight at 8pm (6pm in Thailand).

In addition to the lyrics and melody composed by Yone-san as usual, this song also features Yaffle (Yuki Kojima) san as an arrangement.

Yaffle-san is a very experienced producer in the Japanese music industry. If you are a fan of Fujii Kaze, you should be familiar with him because he is the one who helped produce almost every song of Kaze-san.

This is the second collaboration between Yone-san and Yaffle-san. The first was the song Mainichi.

What I like most about this song, besides Yone-san's singing and the winter atmosphere, is the lyrics. So I would like to talk about the lyrics a bit.

I liked it since I heard the preview. Because just the first part of the lyrics gives me goosebumps. I like how Yone-san compares a heart transplant to a plant cutting.

The cut flower (Yusuke's heart) is the only thing Yusuke has left. This song is told from Saeko's perspective.

Another part I like is the last part, "Like soda whose bubbles are gone..." It compares something that has been lost and cannot be brought back. No matter what you do, the soda will never be as fizzy as before.

The part "Like a Klimt painting" probably comes from Gustav Klimt's most famous work, The Kiss.

The other parts of the lyrics are based on the content of the series. This is another song by Yone-san with fairly straightforward content that is not difficult to interpret.

Next year's "JUNK" live tour in Japan will start in January and end at the end of February (the final show will be at the Tokyo Dome).

The world tour of the same name will start in March and last until April. (Last show at LA YouTube Theater)

Most of the songs in the setlist are likely to come from the LOST CORNER album. Of course, Azalea will be included, as it's a new song.

Let's wait and see for more updates.
