Why Is Your Cat Always Hungry?

Hey Murray, I know what you want. Murray is always hungry. What do you want fat cat? Food? You see down there by the fridge, I see Murray. Fridge. Murray. Fridge. Murray. Clearly you're hungry. Even though I'm sure you ate about two hours ago. If your cat is always hungry, it's a great idea to rule out some of the bigger veterinary issues. Say you've got an older cat, past the age of 10, starting to lose weight, but always hungry. You know, get him or her checked to make sure he's not hyperthyroid. What? Hungry cat. Say you have a younger cat, a bit of a pot-bellied appearance, he or she may have parasites. That could explain the cause of it always being hungry. What is it Murray? Are you hungry? Yeah, meow. Diabetes mellitus, where your pancreas is either not producing enough insulin or the cells of the body are no longer responding to the insulin. You feel hungry all the time. Are you saying something to me? Do you want food? Again? Murray was a diabetic. He was darn hungry. It's just now his diabetes is treated. He has no other underlying medical causes. And Murray, he is always hungry. Hmm. There's something else going on. Murray. Okay, come here. I will feed you. Murray loves food. And Murray gets his emotional needs met with eating. As far as I can figure out. He just loves it. He just he can't bear not feeling full. He's like if he can choose between being petted and food. And I'm sure like 50% of the time Murray is choosing food. He just loves it. It's so hard to turn him down. If you have a cat like Murray that is always hungry, here are some of the specific steps that you can do. Number one, we're starting with changing the food. One I made a switch to eliminating the carb. So Murray is no longer on kibble. He's only on high protein canned cat food. When he eats the animal protein, he feels more filled up. He doesn't have to eat it often. Next, consider some form of scheduled feeding that you're feeding measured amounts, you know, three to four times throughout the day. Hi, kitty. Murray. Oh, hi, kitty cat. Good morning, Murray. I think you're something for me. Then last but not least, it's me. I'm the one that he go he goes around the house, but he knows if he meows at me, I'm like, okay, Murray, I'll give you another snack. What? What? You're like the most persistent cat I know. Yes. Oh, how could I not feed you? It's so hard to say no to you. Like, how can you say no to this face? Thanks for watching this video. I'm not sure if Murray is going to be super thankful for it.
