Exploring Brazil’s Best Colonial Town & Its Bizarre Carnival Museum of Giant Heads...

Today I'm exploring a little town called Olinda. Welcome to a little mini vlog of my day visiting a famous little town in Brazil. And like usual, I ran into a few little hiccups. Like the cobblestone streets being so steep that it knocked off my top case. But more on that later. This place was so beautiful and so interesting, you're going to love it. First, I apologize ahead of time that I'm not much of a tour guide or historian. But what I can share is all the beautiful and wonderful things that I encounter that make a place so different. Like Exhibit A. So many people ride barefoot here, it's amazing. Things like this make me weirdly happy. Look, these two guys, both barefoot, riding a motorcycle. So we've arrived in Olinda. Already the architecture and colors are so beautiful. And in a minute, I'll tell you a little bit more about this place. That's a lot of equipment. Oh, yeah, well. Yes. Oh, wow. So you deliver or what do you do? No, I travel. I travel. Oh, cool. This is only half the stuff I have. Wow. And you have a Honda, huh? Yes. Yeah, smooth? Yeah. Yeah, it's great. It's a great little bike. Yeah, it's perfect. Where are you from? Colorado. Oh, cool. How about you? New York. Oh, wow. Yeah. Look at you, man. You got everything. Conversations like these happen all the time. And I always enjoy people saying hi. Next, I'm about to turn up that street on the right and get myself into a little pickle. I've hit this dead end here. This is why Google Maps is always with a little bit of mindful using Google Maps. But I'm going to turn around on this steep hill. And this is when it's so much easier having a smaller bike and a bike that my feet can reach. Here comes another extremely steep hill. Pippa struggled a bit, but it was thrilling. That was so steep. I wish I could show you how steep this is. The camera won't ever show it, but it's really steep. We just came up that. It was pretty fun and daunting. Pippa is famous for not only being a gorgeous colonial town, but being a place where Carnaval is celebrated and they do the big head things here. And so they have like museums of them. So let's check it out. Olinda is said to be one of the top five best places to experience Carnaval in Brazil. It's basically a giant street party with lots of music, singing and dancing. And this museum displays all the best costumes from the previous years. Wow, look at this amazing view over here. Well, all the red tile is Olinda. And that city all the way in the back, that's Recife. There's some food stalls here that I'm sure come alive in the evening. Do you want to take a picture on the side of the bike? On the road? I don't think so. My battery died on my 360 camera, but boom, top box. Third time it's fallen off. Trying to come down this really, really steep street. You cannot see how steep this is, but it's very, very steep. And my top box has fallen off three times. It's just... I don't... I don't know. This is just how it goes.
