Reacting to MOST INSANE climbing videos of 2024 -ft Erik, Emil, Nikken and - Magnus Midtbø
Alright guys, you ready to watch some videos?
Yep.
I'm psyched.
I haven't seen any of these before, so it's going to be the first time for all of us.
It's so good.
That could be you naked.
No, I'm not going to throw it into the fire.
He uses those all the time, every chance he gets.
That or without texture.
I'm known within Stockholm because I said everything with no text.
Like, no text feed and no text hands.
Okay.
And people can come to the gym and they're like, that's your problem.
That's your problem.
You're like...
I mean, Burner memes, they have stepped up their game as well.
Yeah, that's what I mean.
They're top tier.
There's a lot of really good Magnus memes.
Yeah.
Yeah, I know.
They're helping my career.
Always good.
You know, when you're a meme, that's when you made it.
We haven't even started the video.
My choice.
It's so insane.
And there's no ropes or anything.
How tall is it?
I mean...
I saw this the other week and it is messed up.
That looks so dangerous.
So the most impressive was the down way, not up.
Yeah, because I think they compete both ways.
So they stop the time when you land back on the floor.
Okay.
But that looks super dangerous.
That must be like 20 meters or something, right?
Would you guys do that?
No.
No, no, no.
I think I'd be psyched on going up.
But going down looks terrifying.
Oh, this is going to be a fail.
I've not seen this video before, but...
And the guy chowing on the powder already.
You can see it all.
Is he playing barefoot, though?
It looks like it.
Is it Charles?
No, no.
No, I'm just kidding.
He is barefoot.
Oh, no.
He falls on the slab again.
He scrapes his feet on the floor.
That is the best case scenario.
He goes straight to looking at the camera.
You see him wandering ever so slightly.
There's so much pressure there.
Who is your favorite climber to climb with?
Why do you think that is?
Is it because you're pushing each other well?
Oh, no.
Oh, poor Adam.
I love the slow build-up.
You're like, nothing is going to happen.
That's the perfect edit.
One of the craziest and most annoying things about climbing
is that good climbing looks so easy.
It makes you go, oh, I can do that.
And often, the better the climber, the more simple they make it look.
Magnus did this climb in rental shoes
while pretending to be a beginner
and still made it look easy.
So we had to try it for ourselves.
And it turns out it's actually really fucking difficult.
None of us could do it.
Manapaldi got the closest.
He made the first move, perhaps.
I found that I didn't have the mobility
to keep my toes hooked onto that volume
and still reach my hand around.
My fingers were given out, too.
But he made it look so simple.
I was convinced that this was like a V5 or a V6.
But trying it, it's got to be at least like a V8.
We tried this about 10 times,
and these were our best attempts.
And he finishes off the boulder without any problems.
Just goes to show,
the professional climber is actually really good at climbing.
Not a professional anymore, though.
But I still call myself in titles and stuff.
I mean, you're still freakishly strong.
Yeah.
I mean, in certain things.
But I don't know.
Especially the last year,
I felt like I hadn't had that much time.
And it's also like things have started to hurt,
and I'm not used to that.
So last year, I haven't felt that strong.
But I have periods where I feel OK.
It looks like a toe pole, or it's a 3D...
Oh, yeah.
3D toe poles.
I've heard about this.
I've seen this somewhere.
Yeah?
This could be potentially the future?
I think it is already, I think.
Oh, OK.
They're like working on an app.
I think it'd be very good.
Because when you're outside,
sometimes it can be really tricky to find the exact route.
I think this is so accurate.
It's quite far.
What?
You dry-fired.
That's really cool.
Two times, yeah.
What?
What the hell?
And he still managed.
That's nice.
That's world-class right there.
He must have had bad skin that day or something.
That's crazy.
Barefoot Charles.
We were just discussing this one.
Yeah.
It's crazy how strong he is.
You've climbed with him, right?
Well, not climbed,
but I've seen him climb in real life and talked to him,
and it's just mind-boggling.
The things he's going to do in this video are mind-boggling.
Have you seen this video?
I've seen this climb.
I've seen him on it.
Oh, you've seen him in real life.
Yeah, yeah.
We either won't film this.
I think I might be at the end of this video,
in the background, actually.
So how hard is this boy, then?
Literally impossible.
I mean, he's actually done the moves.
Yeah.
I think he's working on it right now,
and he's finally done all the moves,
and this is him starting to red-point it, maybe.
It said 2023, so I guess last year.
And when I met him, yeah.
Strong people have tried it as well.
I think so.
I think it's just one of the big historic projects in ACP,
one of the big areas in Fontainebleau.
Yeah, exactly.
This is when I met him.
Do you know how long he's worked on it?
I have no idea.
But he probably has this elephant skin,
just like the Tarzan guy I climbed with.
Oh, right, yeah.
Probably okay.
I think you need that thick skin,
because otherwise, I know when I climb Barefoot,
I sweat a lot, so it's just really greasy.
I would have to chalk up,
but I think he has such thick skin that he doesn't sweat a lot.
It's like a backup shoe.
Yeah, so you have to build that up.
Yeah, he's on a rampage, that guy.
I think he might be the...
Do you think he's the strongest boulderer in the world right now?
It doesn't really mean by stronger, but...
Or not stronger, but best boulderer in the world.
I think so, yeah.
Looks like he's setting up for a dyno.
Judging by the thumbnail.
I do like a big dyno.
What do you think he's going to do?
He's going to go there and then straight into the undercling?
Yeah, I think he's going to do a front flip on it or something.
And then he's going to fall.
I think he's going to face plant.
So that's okay.
Oh, I have seen this one.
Oh, fashion.
I'm just waiting for the face plant.
And he rolls out.
I don't think it's that hard, though, once you get into the rhythm.
I've done similar stuff where you're just like...
It feels hard in the beginning and you just get into the rhythm,
and it's not that bad.
It's always nice when you're expecting a fail,
and then they succeed.
You're like, nice, good on you.
And the opposite is also fun sometimes.
Whoa, what's happening with the fingers?
That happens to me sometimes.
Is it a cramp?
Not that they bend backwards, but I think it's a cramp.
Because I have cramps in my fingers sometimes
where they just do all these weird things
and it starts going in weird directions.
Really? I've had cramps, but then they go this way.
Yeah, yeah.
When you hyperextend it, it just goes the other way.
Usually, actually, if I drink too much coffee,
then it happens, because I think then it's just dehydrated.
Yeah, exactly.
It's definitely red rock.
It looked like they broke a little bit.
Oh, is that what happened?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Crumbles.
Straight to the back.
You can see how the pads are, too.
There's a rock under there.
What's he got?
Did you see the brush?
Yeah, yeah, I'm wondering.
Is he going to do the whole thing with a brush?
Is this the challenge?
That is crazy impressive, actually.
I think he's using it as a helicopter.
Yeah, but if that's a brush, can you do that?
Wait, you don't think it's stuck to it?
No, no, no.
It's just a brush.
I thought it was just something he was spinning around.
How is that even possible?
Yeah, just doing that in itself and then climbing with it.
Do we have a brush?
I genuinely want to try that.
Do we have a brush here?
He thought it was something stuck to his finger.
I thought he just had something stuck and he just pretended it was a propeller.
First try.
Yeah, no.
Yeah, I might as well just go in.
That is so much more impressive than climbing game to game.
How is that possible?
Are you sure it's one finger?
Yeah, it's one finger.
Yeah, it's for sure one finger.
So what would we grade this?
9C Boulder.
But I mean, he has the helicopter effect, so it's a little bit of aid climbing in there as well.
Exactly, yeah.
But I mean, the dino is crazy right there.
Is it possible to zoom in on it?
He will, he will in a second.
But how can he do it with one finger?
I genuinely don't get this.
Can someone explain this?
How does this physically work?
I mean, you have to use this part as a stop for it to rotate.
But even so.
Yeah, I know.
I think I would have to practice this for years just to be able to do that.
Holy cow.
Almost, I believe for a second.
That was good.
It was good that it was the leg and not the knee.
It was so stiff though.
What did he bounce off of?
That's like a classic setting taboo right there.
Alright, that was the last of it.
Thank you guys for watching.
Check these guys out on YouTube and everything and I'll see you next time.
