Ladies and gentlemen, it's lesson time. It's about the impact of four single strokes. It's very easy, but very effective
Hey everybody, what's up Simon here
Welcome back to Tomann's drum bash. And today I want to talk about the impact of four single strokes
It's very easy
Everyone can play it. It's just right left right left
Or if you're left-handed start with your left hand left right left, right?
It's for beginners
Intermediate everyone can take something out of this lesson. There are four topics that I want to talk about
its
orchestration
displacement dynamics and
Subdivisions. Yeah, let's start with orchestration
Orchestration means you take the four single strokes and play it on a different kind of drum or cymbal
Maybe you start with maybe you start very easy and play every stroke on the snare
Or you be more creative and use your hi-hats or and and your cymbals and drums
So that's that's what I mean with orchestration. So let me show you my four
favorite
Orchestrations. I'm just using
snare
toms and
The kick drum. All right number one four single strokes on the snare very easy, but very effective
number two is
snare high tom low tom snare
One more time
number three is
snare high tom low tom low tom
one more time and
number four is
The bass drum as the second stroke, so it's right bass drum right left
one more time
Let me show you how that sounds when I play it in a context like with a groove or maybe in a different tempo
