We love you all so much!
DALLIN AND BELLA
#dellavlogs #dallinandbella
We might as well be eating Thanksgiving dinner right now because we're going to Turkey.
Bella's been wanting to say that on live.
I've been waiting to say that.
We're headed to Turkey, which is a new country for myself, Bella, and obviously, Story.
We're currently in Houston, Texas right now.
We had a two-hour flight here, and then in a couple of hours, we are boarding our long flight.
11 hours, 50 minutes.
Pretty much, might as well be 12 hours.
Thank you so much. Wow.
This is dinner.
Yum.
That is so good.
Anytime music comes on, Story has to dance.
She's begging us to get her out of her seat so she can run around and dance.
We're about to board our flight right now.
I think it's our first time ever flying Turkish Airlines, too.
Yeah, this is our very first time.
I mean, yeah, this is going to be awesome.
I'm excited to fly Turkish Airlines, excited to go to Turkey.
I feel like I don't know what to expect.
12 hours.
We'll see how this all goes.
Luckily, it's overnight because I feel like Story's going to do really well.
She sleeps good on the planes when it's at night, so let's see how it goes.
I love seeing three passports.
Why does that make me happy?
It's not just two of us anymore.
I want to see four.
I didn't come prepared to walk the red carpet today.
Apparently, you walk a red carpet.
Story, what are you going to have?
Have you made your decision yet?
Me either.
I was thinking the same thing.
Really?
She acts like she can read it.
Why is that so funny?
You want the lemon?
Say yes.
Here you go.
They gave us fuzzy socks.
A hair tie.
I got socks, too.
Is it weird to be excited for a 12-hour flight?
I feel excited for this flight.
I have a TV in front of me.
I have a lay-down seat, and I have my family here.
That's all I ever want in life.
And a new place.
And a new place, a new country to check off.
I feel like we've gone to a lot of the same places over and over,
and so for us to be going to a new country feels like Christmas Eve.
I'm so excited.
We just woke up.
She says I slept for a little bit less than two hours.
Dallin said it's been a long night.
I think one of the biggest is you just kind of expect that you're not going to get good sleep.
And if you go in with that expectation, then everything's great.
So I feel like we're kind of used to this, but we're an hour away from Turkey.
We're almost there, and I can't wait.
Travel hack.
We're off our 12-hour flight, and we made it to Istanbul, Turkey.
I'm so excited to be here.
You're so, like, this just feels so surreal.
I'll tell you, like, my favorite part of traveling is landing
and just, like, that feeling of, like, the energy of a new place
and just, like, knowing that you get to explore.
I can't wait.
Especially since this is a new country for all of us.
It's going to be fun.
We're all experiencing this together, the three of us.
We're going to spend, I think, the next five days here.
What time is it?
It's 930 at night.
So now we'll see how the night goes.
We've got to adjust to this jet lag.
We'll see how it goes.
Hang in there, crib.
You silly girl.
Look, your food came.
Our food is here.
We all ordered chicken tenders, and so we got some butter noodles.
Best kind of dinner.
It's 3 o'clock in the morning, 3.15, and we're all jet lagged.
Really?
Are you starting to get tired finally?
How are you doing over there?
Bella's in bed.
And we went from not sleeping on the plane to not sleeping at night
to not sleeping at all.
Story's plugging in here.
So we ordered room service at, like, 2.30 in the morning
because that's technically dinner time back home in Arizona,
and Story was getting tired.
We've been watching our own travel videos.
Story loves watching them.
It keeps her entertained.
You can actually see right here the reflection of the TV of our video.
Look, Story, this is when we were in Dubai.
Literally in that part of the video, we had jet lag.
It was probably 3 in the morning in Dubai.
Just why do we do this to ourselves, Bella?
It's all part of it.
It's part of the adventure.
You'd think we would learn after.
No, day 1, everybody's a little jet lagged.
Day 2, you're still a little bit.
Day 3, that's when things get fun.
It's going to be a good day.
I convinced them to give me a box of to-go food at the breakfast buffet
for Story for the ride.
Got some pancakes and some pastries and some apples.
Here, see if she wants a pancake right now.
Want a pancake?
It's day 2 in Turkey.
Day 1, we were recovering from some jet lag, and we didn't really have much planned.
But today, we have a busy day.
We're going to be going out on the town and checking it out.
I'm excited to see what Turkey has to offer.
I've heard so many good things.
I am extremely tired, but we're going to push through.
We have a boat tour this morning.
Hopefully, we make it on time.
Been a little bit behind schedule, but it'll be great.
You ready, Story?
Let's go explore Turkey.
Okay, so right now, we're about to go on a boat tour.
Story is finding all the kitty cats in this restaurant.
She's looking everywhere for the kitty cats.
If you saw our Greece vlog, you know she is a huge cat lover.
And if there is a kitty cat within a mile radius, she will find it.
Where is it going?
He's eating something.
Is he going to be nice?
Story, say kitty cat.
Kitty cat.
He's eating the plant.
Hi, kitty cat.
We're currently on a boat tour, and this is like the most beautiful view.
There's so many mosques that we keep seeing, and I love seeing the big Turkish flags everywhere.
They're everywhere.
It's like the coolest skyline ever.
Oh, no.
Story keeps finding, there's like a little dog on here.
Of course, she keeps chasing the little dog around.
She's living her best life.
We made it off the boat, and this is the view right when we get off.
Like, what is even life right now?
This is so cool.
I feel like the camera just does not even do it justice.
Like, it's just the most beautiful mosque ever.
This is cool.
We are entering the spice market.
Like, there's all these spices.
Apparently, there's like Indian and Egyptian influence here.
So, we're going to check it out.
It smells really good in here.
Okay, we just saw a bunch of cool gummy candy, so I'm going to come make a bag.
We have to come back with something.
I want to try something I've never tried before.
Who knows what it is, but we're about to find out.
This is my bag.
It looks good.
It looks delicious, actually.
I'm excited to try this.
Mama's getting candy.
I got some candy.
Oh, you want to see it?
We'll open it when I pay for it, okay?
Mama has to pay for it.
Okay, well done.
Story finally woke up.
You slept the whole boat ride.
Yeah, you feel better?
You got a nap in?
Story's like, where did that boat take us?
Pretty good.
I wasn't sure how much that bag of candy was going to be.
I was a little skeptical.
I thought it was going to be expensive.
Yeah, you just never know.
That was our first time buying something here, so we didn't know the conversion rate.
It was 90 Turkish, whatever it is.
Euros or whatever?
I don't know.
But anyway, it ended up being $2.
Which is so surprising.
I'm like, should we go get more?
I want to get a bunch.
Story loves it.
I was very cautious when I was loading my bag because I was like, this is going to be expensive.
Like $50.
Two bucks.
Two US dollars.
For all of that.
It was crazy.
She saw a dog pillow and she's obsessed.
I think she misses our pup Banks.
Oh, Banks.
Banks.
She loves Banks.
Do you love Banks?
I like chocolate.
Okay, it's up to you.
Which one?
This one.
It's good?
Not good.
So good.
It's pretty good.
And you?
You need some?
Wow.
Delicious.
Michelin lunch?
Dang.
This is fancy.
So we're sitting at the restaurant right now.
They're just bringing out a bunch of different Turkish foods.
The first ones we had, it was like eggplant, beef on top.
I don't know.
It was delicious though.
This was my favorite.
It's like a tomato and cucumber.
I already ate a lot of it, so.
Story likes it too.
Geez, you're a little loud in the restaurant.
We just brought out the next meal.
It looked like beef, but it's actually lamb.
Very fitting because we're Lamberts.
And it has eggplant.
I thought it was mashed potatoes.
See, the American me thinks that everything is like mashed potatoes and butter.
But no.
Very healthy.
It's eggplant and lamb.
Never had this before, but it's delicious.
I will say.
Daddy do it.
This has kept her entertained all dinner.
Ice?
Can you say ice?
Ice.
We are going into a mosque right now.
I'm actually excited.
We've only ever been to one other mosque and it was in Abu Dhabi and it was like unbelievable.
The Grand Palace.
But you cover your hair to show respect, so I just covered my hair.
And we're ready to go in.
She finally fell asleep.
And it's kind of perfect timing.
I'm really hoping that this nap will line up perfectly with the night tonight.
And we can get some sleep tonight.
Hopefully.
I'm so happy that Story fell asleep because there's water underneath us.
Anytime she sees water, it's game over.
She runs to the water as fast as she can.
So if she wasn't asleep right now, I'd be chasing her like crazy trying to not let her jump in the water.
I probably wouldn't have been able to be in here.
Either one of us would have had to have gone out because she would have literally been in that water this whole time.
It would have been a struggle.
We got some street corn because it's everywhere and it smells amazing.
And it's corn.
Our big love for gloves.
It has the juice.
Thank you.
That might be some of the best corn I've ever had.
Corn's one of my favorite foods.
I couldn't resist.
That's so fire.
Wow.
Story woke up when she smelled the corn.
She said, give me some of that.
Is that good?
We might have to buy her another one.
It's day two in Turkey.
Today, on the itinerary, first thing we're doing is we're going to explore a mosque.
Oh my gosh, the cat is literally on our camera.
Do you see that, Story?
Look at the kitty cat.
The cat is sitting right next to our camera.
Story!
I think Turkey's known for cats.
There's so many.
It's kind of like Greece where there's just cats everywhere.
We could wait out the storm.
Can you say kitty cat?
Kitty cat.
What does a kitty cat say?
Meow.
Can you say meow?
Let's find a kitty cat.
This country is infested with kitty cats.
We just finished at the mosque and that was amazing.
The detail in that mosque is insane.
It's like a cross of Christianity and Muslim.
Now we just made it to Bella's paradise.
Yes.
We are going to an old candy shop.
Let's go.
I'm excited.
They said we're going to try club sodas, all the old candies.
This should be really cool.
I'm excited for this one.
Wait, comment if you're a sweet or salty type person.
Dallin's definitely salty and I'm sweet.
We're the complete opposite.
We're a good match though, right?
Bella loves her sweets.
I'm not the biggest fan.
I like salty.
Give me some chips.
Ooh, this looks cool.
Story saw those lollipops immediately.
She's like, please, please.
We're about to go upstairs.
They don't let people go up there, but they're going to let us go up there
and see how everything is made, I guess.
We're going to have to get one of those for her to go.
We're going upstairs.
Oh, thank you.
I thought you were a statue.
This is where they made the candy?
Yeah, here.
This market.
This is like the original area where everything was made.
They have like the marble slab where they were originally making the candy.
It's fascinating.
I love learning about the history of candy.
It's like right up my alley.
Kitty cat.
Look at the cat.
Cat.
Good job.
There's a mixed one?
It's mixed.
I made it.
All of them inside.
Yeah, I want that.
What do you have, Story?
Listen, when we're on vacation, just let them loose a little.
Let them get what they want, you know?
Wait, I want one of those.
What?
A donut?
Does that look bomb or what?
So, we're at a soda shop.
I'm very disappointed.
They don't have Diet Coke.
What's the point of having a soda shop if they don't have Diet Coke?
But I guess I'll show you.
It's kind of cool.
It's really cool, actually.
All these shops are super tiny and quaint,
and so I feel like I could just go in and out of all the shops all day long.
We are at a pickle place.
We're about to try some different types of pickles.
Story fell asleep.
Dallin is dad of the year.
Can I just say, Dallin is the best dad in the world.
He always gets her to sleep on the go.
I'm always impressed.
I feel like we're a good team.
Proud of us.
James, show us your pickles.
This is our friend, James.
Alright, I love pickled beans.
I just love pickles in general.
Me too.
I'm excited for this.
Like, taste test.
Extra sour, just the way I like it.
Okay, I'm about to get some pickles, like a whole little taster.
Okay, this is what it looks like.
We're going to try this.
Yup.
It's kind of spicy.
Oh, I like that.
It's kind of sour.
Guys, am I embarrassed?
I really like this.
This might be my favorite thing I've had here.
We're at the candy shop.
I'm a pickle gal.
Open your mouth.
Blow him a kiss.
Blow him a kiss and say, I love you.
Kisses.
Say, love you, kitty, kitty.
We have seen so many cats.
This one looks like he's seen something.
We were walking and I saw this and I had to get it for Story.
Everywhere we go, I get her something like this.
How cute.
I picked it up from right here.
Story.
I got this for you.
Do you love it?
Aww.
Do you love it?
From Turkey.
It's for you.
Yay.
She's so cute.
What should we name her?
We got Cozy and Pocitano.
What should we name her?
We got the camel in Dubai.
Yeah.
We need something cute for her.
We need a Turkish name.
That's so cute.
I think she loves it.
I think she's obsessed.
Why does it make me so happy that she loves stuff like that?
These are priceless things for me.
All the things we've collected around the world.
Can't wait to show her these videos.
She can watch it back when we got it.
And then have a little memento.
It's the perfect souvenir for her.
Looks like someone handmade that.
Is that your baby in there?
Oh, look.
We got to put her in her buckles.
Buckle her up.
Buckle, buckle, buckle.
Okay.
Now, let's push her.
Whoa.
Push the baby.
See, this is what it would be like if she had a sibling.
She would feel like she's like the big sister.
She sees something.
A dog.
A really big dog.
We just got back to the room.
Why am I exhausted?
It's been a day.
I feel like we've just been go, go, go for so long.
Like, we've been walking so much.
But we just got back to the room.
Turkish Airlines had left this cool box for us.
Oh, this always comes in handy.
Travel adapter.
You can never have too many of these.
I'm like, I hope there's chocolate in here.
Their chocolates they gave at the end of the flight are so good.
Dear Donna Lambert, we're thrilled.
Wow.
We're thrilled to welcome you to Istanbul as Turkish Airlines.
Turkish Airlines hooked us up on this trip.
This is so cool.
Bella's looking for chocolate.
Yeah.
We had the opportunity to go to a hamam.
Hamam.
What is it?
Hamam.
Which is like a Turkish bathhouse.
But unfortunately with Story, we weren't able to do it.
It's all good.
Bella and I actually did one of those a couple years ago.
When we were in Oman.
Yeah, when we were in Oman.
Which was really cool.
Whoa, Story, it's an airplane.
It says Turkish Airlines.
Oh, okay.
That's pretty sick.
Whoa.
The rest of the day, I think we're going to go to a tea.
We're going to a tea party.
And then we're going to go to dinner tonight.
If Dallin makes it.
He's pretty excited.
I'm excited.
I'm exhausted.
Our goal right now is to find Galata Tower.
I see it.
Why does this kind of look like something that would be in Disneyland?
It's really cool.
Hey, I'm really proud.
I went into a really cute kid's store, and I didn't buy anything.
So you know what that means?
We gotta get some baklava.
I've been telling Dallin, he needs to try baklava.
He's never had any, and it's on like every corner here.
It looks so good.
Right now, we're currently at the base of the Galata Tower.
This thing is so cool.
It's like fairy tale vibe.
All right, so we're back in the room.
And on our way up, the reception lady gave Story a balloon.
She's been loving it in the room.
But it's up there.
She let go.
They fill it with helium, and it's up there.
She has been distraught.
She's just standing there saying, balloon.
Every time she sees it, she gets really sad.
There's actually nothing in this room that I can use.
Oh, no.
She sees her balloon.
Mom and Dad are going to get it for you, okay?
How are we going to do this?
Daddy.
Story, I'm getting it.
We're trying.
Daddy, balloon.
I don't know how I'm going to get on the bed next.
I don't know about this, Dallin.
This is a big step.
Move your feet to the front.
Story.
We're trying.
Stop yelling.
We're trying.
I can't because this bed is boggling.
Wait.
Put Story on your shoulders.
Okay.
Ready?
Get your balloon.
Get it.
We got your balloon.
I thought it was gone.
I thought it was gone again.
I learned my lesson this time.
This is called innovation for a toddler.
She keeps trying to throw it, so I had to put it on her baby doll.
Whoa.
She loves this balloon.
Did I put it on your baby?
You can't let it fly away.
No babies were harmed in the making of this.
