Hello everybody, I'm the Introverted Astrologer and today I'm back with a video which I promised
for my viewers. As those of you in the States will know, Trump has been nominating the various
members for his new cabinet and I know that some of you have been wondering whether he will be
inaugurated as president on the 20th of January. I'd said that we would look closer at the position
between now and January and establish whether we have any bumpy weather ahead. And there's no better
place to start than with the very intense full moon which we had just a couple of days ago.
I'll just explain that we have a central chart here which is the birth chart for the United States.
It's dated way back in 1776 when you had the Declaration of Independence and placed around
the inner chart are these red glyphs which represent all the positions of the very intense
full moon that fell here where you can see this little moon at around 24 degrees of Taurus.
I know a lot of people were hopeful that this moon might mean a sudden change or a reversal
particularly because this degree of Taurus, 24 degrees, corresponds with Trump's midheaven
and J.D. Vance's is in that area too. As you can see Uranus is on the moon. It's tightly woven into
this lunation energy and so sudden shocks, abrupt change, the unexpected are all possible. I have to
say that I've personally seen many full moons come and go and very intense ones at that which didn't
bring deeply impactive change and so although it isn't what many of you would like to hear
I'm not sure that this full moon is going to be of the magnitude that would bring an abrupt
and shocking reversal of the election results in some way and although this new moon is square
the moon in the United States chart, this moon which represents people and democracy, I'm still
doubtful that there will be any swift upheaval preventing the presidential inauguration. However
what I would like to say is that new moons are a different matter. Their energy is more condensed
and more potent and we still have a couple of new moons coming before the presidential inauguration
and so we'll take a look at those now. And again we have the Sibley chart in the center
and we have the new moon positions around the outer edge in red cliffs. This new moon falls on
the 1st of December and it's at around nine and a half degrees of Sagittarius. This means that it
falls on the ascendant of the American chart. The ascendant tells us something about the general
population, the general health of a country, the general state of its economy, the general mannerisms
of the people. It is the appearance of a country, broadly speaking, viewed from a more global
perspective. Now this particular new moon's energy is trining with Mars and applying to
a square with Saturn. I think this separating trine with Mars in the fire signs is showing
that there has been a time of many decisive actions, of acting with authority and determination.
Fire is very warm and enthusiastic. There's a dynamism to this. The trine aspect also removes
any resistance and so it is likely that various executive actions will be undertaken and
implemented at speed. This applying square to Saturn though is more difficult. This Sagittarius
energy is saying something about belief systems and ideologies, philosophies, potentially even
the wider legal system. And we might think of beliefs, ideas or legal constraints coming up
sharply against barriers, restrictions, impediments, delays. This Saturn is in Pisces and Pisces is
actually an area where we would look for the great unbounded, a place of no boundaries or barriers,
the collective unconscious, dreams, fantasies. It can even get messy and chaotic and so Saturn is
not going to feel very at home against this backdrop as it tries to make sense of a variety
of messier, disorganised dreams and visions. Some of you may well have your natal Saturn in Pisces
and with this combination we can have vague feelings of anxiety, of concerns and worries,
maybe low self-esteem or guilt and we might struggle with situations where we feel
out of control. I wonder also if we could view Saturn in Pisces as underpinning ways of coping
which could include conspiracy theories as Saturn tries to make sense of the many disorganised,
free-floating concerns and worries. There's no denying that the collective's way of coping with
the fear generated by the election result might include hopes that there has been a dreadful
mistake or misdeed which will be put right. On balance though, do I believe that this new moon
in itself would be sufficient to reverse or jeopardise the outcome of the election? Well,
it is opposing America's natal Uranus and so I do think there's a potential there for some kind of
shock or surprise, some revelation coming to light and indeed it may even be related to
the United States' relationships with other countries, its foreign relations. However,
there are a couple of other things taking place in December and so we'll look at those in a minute.
We'll first have a look at this last new moon, the one that will take place most immediately
before the presidential inauguration. Again, it's America's chart in the centre with the new moon
positions placed around the edge and we can see here that this new moon falls at around
10 degrees of Capricorn. This new moon energy is in a wide sextile with Saturn and we have a couple
of minor aspects too which include a semi-square with Venus and also a sesquiquadrate with Uranus.
So if we break these aspects down one by one, we have very much a business-like air about this new
moon. It's falling in the sign of Capricorn which is very pro-authority. Capricorn speaks of leaders,
of tradition, of social hierarchies and it's very conventional and it is sextile with Saturn which
is a traditional ruler of Capricorn and I think, if anything, the combination of these two is
showing an adherence to due process. There's a very formal and conventional air about this new
moon. It implies an adherence to order and to tradition. The minor aspects with Venus and with
Uranus could be showing some discontent, some tense energy, chafing at the bit. Perhaps there will be
some unexpected changes but I would anticipate that these would not be major. However, this new
moon is opposing the American sun. The sun which represents the president, the ruler of the country.
Of course, we are going to have the ruler of the country replaced as a new president is sworn in.
Now we have been seeing a couple of little signs of something unexpected happening. Not necessarily
a major and total overhaul of the election outcome but potentially some smaller unexpected happenings
and to consider what they might be we're going to have a look at how the planets are behaving in
December because a few things will be changing. So we have America's natal chart, the Sibley chart,
in the centre and I've arbitrarily selected the date of 16th of December to show you where all
the transiting planets are at this time. Let's consider Saturn first. Now Saturn is now moving
direct. Saturn turned direct around halfway through November and so it is now slowly inching away
from the square that it has been making to the United States chart. You can see Mercury here
moving through the early degrees of Sagittarius. Now Mercury turned retrograde on the 26th of
November and at this time it was around 22 degrees of Sagittarius and so it's been slowly
retrograding backwards over the United States ascendant and back into the darker 12 house,
the place where we have things which are hidden or secret. Mercury has only just turned direct
as at the 16th of December and what will happen is that Mercury is going to gradually edge back
towards America's ascendant and at this time Mercury may well be bringing out of the depths
of the 12th house something which was previously hidden or secret. Mercury can of course be
communications but when we're looking at things from the perspective of countries it may be
communication networks, travel networks, the mass media but something about this is going to be
brought out of the 12th house and just before Mercury does cross the ascendant
it will make an opposition with America's natal Uranus and so the information it brings out could
indeed be very surprising, unexpected. In America's birth chart its natal Mercury is in an eighth
house position so it's very intense and secretive and it also has some connection with shared
resources or finances possibly even finances relating to foreign spending but I suspect
something important is going to come to light. Mercury will cross this ascendant again in the
last week of December and it will be interesting to see what comes up in the news then. We can also
consider Mars because Mars has been moving very slowly as seen from our earthly perspective and
around the 7th of December Universal Time it will be conjunct the United States north node and will
then turn retrograde and over the first couple of months of 2025 it will be slowly retrograding
over some of America's eighth house including its Mercury. When Mars initially reaches the node in
early December what might we be looking at? The node can often imply destiny, joint collaboration.
It can also magnify things and so that Martian energy may be magnified and when Mars retreats
to revise, to re-evaluate and reassess much of this retreat will be happening in the eighth house.
I do partly wonder if some collaboration or shared agreement, a joint venture or initiative
has to be reconsidered or re-evaluated as Mars pulls back into the eighth house
and it will of course oppose Pluto again, it will conjunct the United States Mercury and square its
Chiron. This eighth house in a country is speaking of jointly held resources, of taxation, of national
death rates. Mars with the node could well imply a collective strength drive or determination,
a joint decisiveness which subsequently needs tweaking as Mars retrogrades. Now will any of
these changed planetary positions prevent the inauguration taking place? I have to say that I
think the inauguration is going to go ahead. I think the chances of exposure or revelations that
are unwanted or shocking is there. I do suspect some exposure of underhanded practices or
communications could come to light this month but given the new moon energy that we looked at
and the fact that transiting Saturn is also going to trine the state's sun, the sun which is the
president or rulership, the implication is of persistent and methodical application to
the country's due processes and so I suspect the inauguration will take place.
Let's take a look at the flavour of the inauguration chart and see what it contains.
This central chart has been cast for 12 noon on the 20th of January in Washington and around the
outer edge you can see in red glyphs Donald Trump's natal positions and so what is the flavour
of this coming term? As always the sun is in the Aquarius but this year it's conjunct with Pluto.
Pluto can speak of power transformation, an intense overhaul for better or for worse.
It looks like change is the order of the day because this is being promised by a Uranus
in the first house and you can see this at around the degree of Donald Trump's own natal
midheaven. Broadly speaking we have innovation and reforms coming. Uranus is also quite a radical and
revolutionary energy. Now we do have a very interesting grand cross being formed in the
if we consider Chiron to be a major player. I find this very interesting because I'm picking up
subtle signs that this term could be painful for females or for family issues that are important
to the American people. The moon can represent the people of America generally and also that
strong principle of democracy but the moon can also represent women. In fact both the feminine
planets of moon and Venus are being brought in. Venus has got Saturn sitting conjunct with it.
This is indeed an aspect which Donald Trump has in his natal chart and here we can see that his
Venus-Saturn conjunction is on the IC of the inauguration chart. Saturn on Venus might be seen
as restricting feminine energy, of applying brakes to the archetypal feminine expression.
Trump's Venus-Saturn conjunction was also on the IC of his first presidential term with the
inauguration chart for January 2017. But the Mars in this inauguration chart is pulling in
that Saturn-Venus conjunction that he has in a way that didn't happen back in 2017.
And so we have this much stronger force here with the potential for upset, anger, conflict
within the general population. I didn't add Eris to this chart but it is actually
here at around 24 degrees of Eris and so it too is pulled into this grand cross energy.
Eris can show where we are inclined to stand down the ground and fight for what's right
if it comes to that. And because this grand cross is in the cardinal signs, these are signs of
action. And so I think we're going to have a lot of disagreements and resistance during this term.
Chiron can also speak of a nation's health, its illnesses, its physical as well as emotional or
psychological hurts. And this opposition to the Moon may represent illness, hurt or damage
to women's physical health, particularly given that this is the sixth house of health.
This Mars is also opposing the Sun. Mars can represent a national urge to get things that we
want for ourselves in the same way that it can in a personal chart. But it does also speak more
broadly of a country's levels of general violence and also of its military assets, its soldiers.
Given that this Mars opposes the Sun, which is the ruler or the president, we can pick up that
perhaps government and military functions may not see eye to eye. They could be at loggerheads
and tensions could run high. There is no presidential term without its problems. Each
one is unique. And I would also add that this Moon is in the area of Trump's lateral Chiron
and Jupiter. And so I wouldn't want to catastrophize and imply that this situation is without hope.
It may well even be that Trump is able to alleviate some of the conflict in this cross by
extending sympathy or benevolence in some way. And we'll have to see how that plays out. A lunar
return is not necessarily the best way of establishing whether an inauguration will take
place. But for what it's worth, we have Trump's lunar return here, which is dated for the 29th
of December. And it's the last point at which the Moon returns to 21 degrees of Sagittarius,
which is where it was at Donald Trump's birth. So this central chart is showing us roughly a
four-week period from the 29th of December through to the end of January. And so it will
cover the inauguration day. And if we're looking for close and prominent aspects, then straight
away we can see that his son is on the ascendant of this lunar return. The lunar return is saying
something to us about emotions. And in this case, we can see that Trump is beaming out his true
solar expression onto the world for all to see. The ascendant is the most powerful of all the
angles. So I don't think it's a coincidence that we have his son there. If we look at the chart on
the right, this shows us Trump's birth chart in the centre. And all those lunar return planets
have been placed around the outer edge. As you can see here, the lunar return ascendant with the
Sun on it is at the bottom of the chart. And opposite that ascendant, we have the descendant.
This descendant does have Trump's natal Mercury sitting conjuncted. And so I think where we are
committing verbally during the inauguration process, the relevant planets are showing up.
As a last touch to conclude, we have an important mundane chart here. Mundane relates to the
astrology of countries. And part of the traditional process of evaluating a particular year for a
nation involves casting ingress charts. And these are the pivotal times when the Sun reaches zero
degrees of a cardinal sign. So starting from March, we would have cast an Aries ingress chart
for the states. And it would be precisely that naught degrees Aries point over the skies of
Washington, which would lay out the tone for the year. But at every subsequent ingress into a
cardinal sign, so Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, those charts should also always be considered
in conjunction to the Aries ingress chart. And so we have here a chart cast for the very second
that the Sun entered the sign of Capricorn. This is something that takes place on the 21st of
December. And its importance lasts from 21st of December through to March in 2025, when the Sun
next enters a cardinal sign. Now this ingress chart does have some prominent aspects being made,
which I thought were important. If we start by looking at the Sun, the Sun is telling us
something about the president or the ruler of a country, its elite, who is in charge.
And in the Placidus chart, the Sun is in the second house, which is reasonably stable. It's a
It's not very well aspected. However, do bear in mind, the Sun has not been well
aspected for most of the ingress charts during the course of this year. And of course, the Aries
ingress had the Sun on Neptune, Cancer had it square Neptune, etc. But the Sun is not particularly
well aspected by other planets that could help either. If we were looking at the whole sign
The Sun is in a cadent house. It's not a particularly strong house. And there would
be far better places for it to sit. If this was going to be a few months where a president is
popular. We do have Uranus tight on the descendant. And is this going to tell us something very
important about the next few months and America's relationships with other countries, not its
further afield than that. So for example, Russia, Ukraine, the Middle East are all possibilities.
Is there going to be significant change or revision here? The tightest aspect of all,
however, involves Saturn and the Moon. There's this partial opposition between them,
which doesn't look altogether happy. Amongst the mundane explanations for this particular
opposition, we'd be looking at very unpopular government, higher rates of unemployment,
difficulties with trade, government apparatus may not run smoothly or efficiently. And indeed,
in some cases, it may be that an important state official dies. The picture is never clear,
however, and I'd hate to present it all as being totally negative. We can see Venus here,
which is being brought to prominence somewhat because it is angular to the ascendant. There is
this trine with Jupiter. And so to some extent, there is peace and goodwill. And this is also
saying something about women again. And in this case, we could consider that the interests of
women generally are going to benefit in some way too. I know some of you have felt let down by the
sheer volume of astrologers who were unable to predict the outcome of the election successfully.
I share your frustration, and I've been delving into the whys and wherefores of how this happened.
And I'm starting to find answers to those questions, which also cast light on some of the
early months of Trump's presidential term. So if you're interested, watch out for a video coming
soon, which takes a look at this whole area. Until next time, though, look after yourselves.
God bless you and yours. Try not to worry. It's one day at a time. Do take care.
