Hey guys, I am super excited for today's video because as I've been hinting in previous videos
I've been thinking about changing up my color scheme for Christmas
But I'm not the kind of person to go to the store and buy whole new stuff
So instead we are headed to our favorite place the Goodwill Vins
I'm gonna go in see what I can find see what we can DIY to change up my color scheme for Christmas
I know y'all gonna enjoy today's video
So let's go ahead and get started and I want to thank Squarespace for sponsoring today's video
What are these?
Oh, there's some wooden curtain rings
I've done a DIY on these a few times, but it's been a while and it's one of my favorite projects
So I think i'm gonna grab these and we'll give them a little makeover
I absolutely love using these for DIYs
Just think of them as small little wooden frames, but I do need to paint them
So that way they kind of look all the same i'm going to be using fusion paint in the color victorian lace
And i'm going to be using two different size curtain rings
There was only four of the bigger ones that I found at the goodwill bins and I need six for this project
So I grabbed three that I had out my stash and i'm gonna use three that I just found at the goodwill bins
With these curtain rings. I want to create some new initial tags to put on my family stockings for Christmas
So I grabbed the iod letterpress stamp, which is a typography stamp you get
Several different fonts and numbers in this one and i'm going to stamp
The the first initial of each of the names in my family and i'm going to be using the china blue ink
And this is just a piece of flower sack cloth that i'm going to be stamping on
Sorry guys, I must not film the step where I actually hot glued the curtain rings to the fabric
I just hot glued them where the stamp letter was right in the center
And now i'm just trimming off all of the excess fabric with my fabric scissors
These tags are looking so cute exactly like I imagined
Now we need to add some string to hang them and attach them to my stockings. I ordered this
Gorgeous blue velvet ribbon and look how perfectly it matches with the china blue ink
I am so in love with these i'm going to be using them as tags
but i'm also going to be on the lookout for some more at the thrift stores because
These would also make beautiful ornaments on my christmas tree
This is a cute little pot and it already has foam in it. You know, that's gone in the cart
It's easy to take some of my florals and just stick them in there make an arrangement
Christmas tree be really cute in there
I always grab these pots filled with foam because half the work is already done
It's really easy to pull the floral out that is in there and I added a little hot glue to the center
Grab the christmas tree that I also got from the goodwill bins and put it right in the center
I wasn't planning on painting the pot, but I felt like it was a little yellow and not really going to go with my decor
So I just grabbed some dixie bell chalk paint and white and i'm just going to very quickly dry brush this pot
This is a very quick easy way to change something up and give it a new look without having to repaint the entire thing
Now I need to cover up the holes in the foam. I could have just added more moss
But I thought rocks would look a lot better. So I just added some hot glue
I had these rocks from the dollar tree and I just covered up all the foam
How gorgeous is this blue velvet ribbon with the raw edges, I love it
I'll definitely leave it linked in the description for y'all. I'm going to tie some little bows as decoration for this christmas tree
This is absolutely an upgrade from the piece that I found at the goodwill bins looks so much better with that whitewash on it
with the rocks
And the cute little christmas tree and of course the blue bows
These are cute
Marked usa
I don't know if this is like for food or soap
But it's the perfect size for soap and I think that's what i'm going to use it for
Like I said, it is the perfect size for soap, but we have to make this soap look cute
So I took the iod roll scene stamp. They have all kind of different images in here
But they also have these adorable little sheep that is what I want to use
So I took the iod china blue ink and I stamped these sheep on some white tissue paper
Now how precious is that?
Then I took some mod podge and I put some mod podge on the soap and then put the tissue paper on top
Now this is just going to be for decor
I actually got this soap from the goodwill bins as well
And i've really been into decorating with soap lately. I'll show y'all a few places
I have it in my house at the end of this project
Once the mod podge was dry
I took some sandpaper and just sanded the edges to get the excess off
And it actually looks like the sheep are printed on here. It came out so good
You can't even see the tissue paper now. Let's put this piece together
I grabbed the siberian hanging greenery from my website
I pulled off a few sprigs to put in the white dish. I put the soap on top and this year
It's all about the bows
So I grabbed some blue velvet ribbon that I ordered and I just tied a little bow and added it into the dish
Soap just for decoration may not be for everyone, but it should be because how adorable did this come out?
I recently thrifted an entire bag of soap from the goodwill bins
I didn't even realize they had these bees embossed on them
So I decided to add them in my decor in my dining room
I don't know if that's weird or not, but I think it is super cute
I just finished decorating these hutches with all of my beautiful thrifted finds
I love the way they came out
Here are a few ways that I have styled soap in my bathroom and i'm thinking a glass jar
Full of blue and white soap would be absolutely beautiful. I might be doing that very soon

It is pretty easy to find ornaments for a great price at the goodwill bins at the thrift stores
And at estate sales and garage sales when i'm looking for ornaments
I'm, just looking for size shape and the texture on there because it doesn't matter the color
You can give it a makeover to go with your christmas decor. I am going with a blue and white theme this year
So i'm painting these ornaments dixie bell chalk paint and the color yankee blue it matches perfectly
With this blue velvet ribbon that I purchased
But if you want it to go with a darker blue, then I would suggest dixie bell in the navy
So i'm going to give all of these ornaments a quick coat of paint and I find the best way to dry ornaments
Is get you some cups and just put the ornaments in there and y'all look how good they look with the ornaments
I diy'd earlier. I am so excited to decorate. My tree is going to be so pretty this year
Isn't it amazing what just a little bit of paint can do?
And this color looks absolutely beautiful with all the decor I already have in my home
I really wanted to start off with some white ornaments for this next project
So I ordered these off of amazon and it was only 24
For a pack of 24
So I felt like that was a pretty good deal for this project
I'm going to be using three different iod stamps iod china blue ink white tissue paper
Mod podge blue velvet ribbon and dixie bell gold gilding wax and probably some other things that I am forgetting
This is iod's rule scene stamps. It's one of my favorite
It comes with two pages full of stamps that you can put together and make a scene
Or I think it also looks good as is and that is how i'm going to use it
So i'm going to use it just like it's laid out fill it with the china blue ink
And then i'm going to stamp the tissue paper
And i'm going to do the same thing with the second page of the rule scene stamp
Next i'm going to use the ephemeral type stamp
This one is filled with different letters and stamps and again
I'm, just going to use the entire stamp as is china blue ink and then stamp the tissue paper
Basically, what i'm doing is I am creating my very own decoupage paper
Next i'm using iod's antiquity stamps, which is a little fun and a little quirky
It has all these different labels and images on it
and again
I'm going to leave it laid out exactly as it is and stamp my tissue paper and I stamped the same stamp
Over and over again on the tissue paper until the tissue paper was fully covered
I'm not going to be using this to wrap presents, but that would be really cute as well
How cool is this beautiful custom decoupage paper that I created using different iod stamps
Now we need to decoupage our ornaments using our new paper
So i'm going to apply mod podge to the entire ornament
I cut the tissue paper down to a more manageable size and i'm going to put it around the ornament
i'm not going to worry about folds and wrinkles actually i'm going to encourage it because it's really going to add to
The look of this piece so i'm just folding it over to the best of my ability and just slathering that mod podge on there
To keep everything in place
I did ornaments with all of the different tissue papers that I stamped and they are looking
Absolutely amazing. You see how all of the folds and the wrinkles just really add to the look
But I want to go with even more layers here
So I grabbed my stamped tissue paper and I just cut out some smaller images
And i'm going to mod podge these onto the ornaments just wherever I want to add another layer
And I am sticking with the same stamp
So i'm not mixing the stamps all the ornaments will be from one stamp
And this is just going to create more layers more textures and more variations of that blue color
I really loved the layered look and how these came out
but if you just want to do one layer you absolutely can and that is a great thing about
DIYing is you can do it in your own way to get the exact look that you are going for
Now we need to get rid of the silver because that does not go with my color scheme
I'm going to remove the silver ribbon and i'm going to take the gold
Gilding wax and i'm going to add it to the top of this piece
It is removable, but I actually find it a lot easier to paint it if you just leave it on the ornament
Last step is to bust out this gorgeous
Blue velvet ribbon and i'm going to just tie it to the top. It matches perfectly
I am loving the white and the blue and the gold and these ornaments were so fun to make
Are these not the most beautiful
French country ornaments you have ever seen I am totally obsessed
And you can just change up the ink color to go with your style
I also think these will look really amazing with some red ink
So go ahead try this technique and make them in your own style
All right, guys, I hope y'all enjoy today watching today's video as much as I enjoyed creating these projects
