Noah Schnapp on Coming Out via TikTok & What He Doesn't Like About College | This or That

Hey guys, I'm Noah Schnapp, and I'm here to play This or That with Variety. Oh, that's a hard one. Definitely depending on the mood. I think usually I'm a more go-out type of person. I like to live life to the fullest and do the most with my day, so I would say go-out. I think I love a nice dinner. I love just like good conversation, good food with good people. I love Italian, I love tacos, I love sushi. I'll eat anything you hand me. Oh, these are good questions. I think, I don't know. I get in like phases, so I'll either be in watching a TV show and a series and be totally hooked and like obsessed with that, or I'm not watching a show and I just love watching movies, so I go in waves. It's a little embarrassing, but currently I'm watching Dance Moms, just like a reality show just to keep me busy while just waiting for the strike to end. Driver, 100%. Always need to be the one driving. You know, I have a Tesla and I love my Tesla. It's just like a little go-kart. I love like stepping on the pedal and everyone in the car like, it's like my favorite thing. So definitely my Tesla. Probably ask them out. Look for a partner. Someone who's like so funny and can make me laugh. That's like the number one important thing. You know what it never was? That Sirius. It was never that Sirius. You came out in a TikTok. What was the thought process behind it? Did you want to keep it light? Yeah, I think it was important for me to kind of make it casual and in today's day and age, it doesn't need to be this big announcement and it can kind of be a casual thing. And for me, TikTok is kind of my safe, fun space and it just felt right to do it there. What advice do you have for queer youth? I would say you are not alone in your struggle. There are many more people going through what you're going through than you think. And I'm always here to support you and many other queer and non-queer people and celebrities. And if you don't have a safe space in your family or with your friends, you can always come to me. You recently attended your first Pride. So watch a drag show or go to a Pride parade? I've never been to a drag show. So I would probably say Pride parade because I'd be best off. When you're on a road trip, radio or playlist? I haven't listened to the radio in I don't even know how long. I think always a playlist. I love Harry Styles. I could say I'm a Swifty. My music taste changes. I like country sometimes, pop, rap, house, like anything. Relaxing vacation or adventurous vacation? Oh, definitely adventurous vacation. I need to be doing something and always on my toes. I love somewhere where I can have fun and also relax. Star in a comedy or star in a drama? Oh, I'm definitely a more dramatic actor. That's my strong suit. So I have many dream roles, a wide variety of genres. I think Spider-Man has always been like just something I've always loved growing up. But besides that, I think just something very dark and like different than me seems like a fun challenge. You're in college, so sit in a lecture or write an essay? Probably sit in a lecture. It's just better than writing an essay. I took a sushi-making class, a history of film class. There's a lot of cool classes that are there. It was definitely one of the most developmental years for me, I think. Also that was the year that I came out. I think I just like really found myself that year and like not having to worry about my parents yelling at me about anything, like leaving my room a mess. It was just amazing. I loved it. You launched your own product, TBH. Eat TBH from the jar or put it on toast? I would say both work. I prefer to put it on toast. I like it on grapes with a little banana. That's my favorite way to do it. I have kind of a passion besides acting for entrepreneurship and I love food and I care about the environment and I love Nutella and kind of combining all these things that I care about and love into this business is kind of what birthed TBH. There's a big future for TBH and lots of collabs to come there as well. Have Eleven's telekinetic powers or be able to communicate through Christmas lights? I think the telekinetic power is a little bit cooler. I find what's most interesting with Will is when I was first cast in the role, I related to him a lot in the sense that like we were both kind of introverted, shy, young, innocent people. And as like I've grown, I've found that I've kind of grown separately from Will and I've become more comfortable with myself and outgoing and whatnot and it's interesting now to kind of play him because he is pretty different from me but he has a special place in my heart. I love Will. UFOs visiting Earth or humans exploring other planets? I think exploring other planets. That's always like fascinated me. Oh yeah, I love space movies. That would be a cool role to do. Which supernatural entity intrigues you more, ghosts or vampires? Probably ghosts. But speaking of vampire, Olivia Rodrigo just released her new song Vampire and I love it so ghost stream that.
