Hey guys! I'm back today and I'm looking to show you all of the pieces that I have
to make you look taller, especially they're more summertime pieces for warmer weather
and I'm just really looking forward to incorporating these into my upcoming outfits this
season. So don't forget to subscribe so you can see them in upcoming videos. I do want to run
through with you guys each one as an example of different things that you absolutely should have
in your closet to move forward and feel so good, especially for any of you petites out there like
me. I'm standing at five foot one and so how I style these pieces and making these ones my
examples is super important. So let's get started with the first one. The first piece is what I'm
wearing today which is a high-rise or mid-rise cropped jean. So there's a few components in that.
First, you guys already know this tip, I love having high-rise jeans. They make my legs look
super long and like most girls, if you want your legs to look longer, the higher the rise is going
to lengthen your legs. And if you're somebody who has a short torso, maybe you feel like when you
wear high-rise jeans that it's just like coming all the way up to your boobs, then you might want
to try for a mid-rise jean and that's going to have the same illusion as someone who has a longer
torso. I happen to have a longer torso and shorter legs, so having high-rise jeans is so perfect for
my body style. I think the other component to that is having something that's cropped. So this is one
jean style that I always rely on because number one, it's going to already look like it's a
standard size for me. When I buy a cropped jean, it's going to look hemmed to my length. Otherwise,
if it shows more than just a little ankle, I'm so okay with that. That's going to make my jeans look
like they were made to fit me and that my legs just happen to be extra long so that my ankle and
whatever else is exposed down there. Next is the opposite of that. So I still want to have the high
rise or the mid-rise jean, but instead of making it a cropped jean, you could have the length go all
the way down almost to the ground. As long as the jean isn't buckling at the bottom by having maybe
your pants too long or your shoes not high enough, then that's going to create this unwanted buckle.
Otherwise, it's going to have this long perfect line that goes almost all the way to the ground
and again, that's just taking that line even longer. So it will look appropriately sized with
the right heel height and that's just an absolutely beautiful way if you want to wear heels with your
jeans. Next, it's very important to have a good neckline and so some tops that are absolutely
perfect is to have a scoop neck top. What that's going to do is it looks more feminine than
something that's more like a crew neck like a standard tee and then it's going to just expose
all this beautiful neckline. Your collarbone is going to lengthen your neck and it's going to
take this beautiful line from the bottom of the neckline all the way up and just lengthen and
elongate all of this area. It's also perfect if you want to sort of widen this area a little bit.
Since I'm pear-shaped, I like to sort of create a balance and put more emphasis on the top and
widen the top and a scoop neckline is going to do that perfectly. By the way, I have everything
listed down below with links, sizes, and sometimes even similar items at different price points. So
be sure to check all that out. But next is cropped tees. So this is going to work so well. It's going
to be your friend whether you have a long torso or a short torso. This is going to lengthen. Anytime
that your pieces of clothing look like they are not oversized on you, maybe a little bit even
small, it's going to make you look bigger. So what this is going to do for something that's a crop
tee like this one, it's going to give a little bit of like a sexiness but it's going to pair
really well with something like a high-rise jean or a mid-rise jean depending on the size of your
torso. And just having a little sliver of skin is very lengthening because it makes your legs look
super long. It also something like this is looser on the sides and if you can get one that's looser
it's going to make you look slimmer and much taller. So there's other options too. You can
get one that's a little bit more on the conservative side where it's a little bit longer, a little bit
drapier, and then that's just going to meet those jeans. It's hardly going to even look like a crop
tee. That was something that fell out of my comfort zone but the minute I started wearing them I fell
in love with this style and it was very just a beautiful incredible way to wear a regular t-shirt.
Next, the most universally flattering neckline is the v-neck. So this is going to work perfectly
for something more office appropriate. You can wear a more formal v-neck. What's great about this v-neck
line is it's got this triangle or this downward diagonal line and what that's going to do,
anything that works like some sort of arrow that's directional, it will lengthen and elongate
and stretch you. So that's an incredible thing to do. You can also pair it with different necklaces
and that will further echo that sort of direction. The other great thing is that you could wear
something that's less formal and wear something more like a t-shirt maybe for summertime.
This one cinches a little bit so that you can make it a little bit flirty or keep it
you know more on the longer side, tuck it into jeans, whatever you want to do.
And it's going to just make you feel much more comfortable in hot weather. It's just an added
bonus. Next is an off the shoulder top. Now last season, last year I mean, I loved wearing these so
much in these humid Tennessee days. I also love it if you like more of a bohemian style. This would
be a perfect option because as a petite I usually find bohemian styles to be overwhelming on my body
frame, especially different like patterns and textures that come with it. It's just too much.
So something like this is a toned down version of that. It also could be made in a different style
like this one's very feminine from Cezanne, more of a French style. And then this one is Nanine
and I just love to wear that. I feel like it's this beautiful like I don't know Spanish princess
sort of design and both of those I just love so much. I'll leave you links for anything here as
well. But this is so cool because you get all of this beautiful collarbone and shoulder and I also
love it because I like to cover up right here with my tees. Anything that's like a longer tee I'm very
much a component, a proponent, a fan of. And one thing that's cool with that is that it slams your
shoulder because then you have this poof here that really makes you look smaller underneath.
So it's not an overwhelming garment because then it cinches right at your waist. Otherwise if it's
something longer like this Cezanne one it will tuck into your pants. So it's going to show off
a waist compared to something much bulkier here and yet it still is showing more tiny shoulders.
So I know some of you guys write me and you're like I don't feel comfortable wearing things that
puff sleeves because it makes me feel like my shoulders are even larger than they are and I feel
insecure about that. Something like this could be a really good option for that if you want the puff
sleeves look because this isn't going to emphasize your shoulders too much. It's actually going to
make them look smaller. Next is a perfect cami. This is so much fun to buy for summertime because
they're much on the cheaper end usually anyways. So this one is from Rouge. It's much more feminine,
a lighter shade and something that will work well as I get more tan moving into summertime.
The most important thing with this is that it has an adjustable strap and anytime that you have
straps like these if they are not adjustable they are so prone to just flying off and then
something like this could be really revealing really fast. So it's important to get the right
length for your straps. It's a very easy fix at the tailor too but right now this is like the
perfect easy option. I've got this white one from Reformation which has that scoop neck feel to it
and it is so flattering. I love it so much. I also love having more of a bodysuit style too because
then it's always tucked into my pants or my short to whatever skirts and it's going to be the perfect
piece to either layer with or just wear out and it looks just like a shirt. You don't have to really
fuss with the bra or anything necessarily because bodysuits usually have a little bit more support
and then otherwise I like to wear these with like pasties, nippies, something like that.
Next are cropped cardigans or sweaters. So same thinking here as with the crop tee. Something
like this will keep you much warmer without overwhelming. So this I love this sweater from
because if it was any longer it probably wouldn't be as flattering. A lot of times I'm going to keep
this open and so these flaps, these front sides are going to be like longer anyways and if they
were any longer then it probably wouldn't be quite as flattering because you want to keep that
beautiful long line that's moving from the top of your jeans all the way down. So this I love it too
because I personally get a little bit cold in summertime because of air conditioning or just
you know sometimes if you're traveling or if you live in a place that's colder it's very easy to
feel chilly. So I like to have something to layer with for a more casual look. I love having just
this sort of sweatshirt or sweater that has more of a cropped feel to it. It's square too so that
it's going to make you look slimmer down here because it's going to have a lot more room and
then you're going to be smaller than the shirt itself and that works because of the length. Next
it's important to have just the right jumpsuit. This can feel just like a dress but much more
casual. Something you could wear doing anything. You could wear something like this to a wedding
or at your house. I mean you could I like to wear this when I am just you know driving around. It
I've worn something like this on car trips anything. It's so incredibly like it feels like
a dress but then it's not like it doesn't feel formal or uncomfortable or like too dressed up
either. So find a good jumpsuit. I will list some down below that I think are excellent. This one
was from a couple years ago and I think that's important to find something just like you would
a little black dress. Find the perfect jumpsuit. This one's great because it's a v-neck. It's got
a small print which is great for petites as well and then it's more cropped up so that I can wear
whatever I want to for my shoes. Just one more note about jumpsuits. They work because they are
what you would consider one long line from your shoulders all the way down and anytime that you
can create those longer lines just like you would with a monochrome outfit that will make you look
taller. Lastly are skin tone shoes. So anything that is a mule, a sandal, a heel, a boot, anything
like that will lengthen you and what's really cool is that what will happen here is instead of
sort of color blocking with your shoes you're going to have one long line from the bottom of
your toes all the way up to where you're showing no more skin anymore and creating that illusion
will give you longer legs. I've talked about this in depth with my other look taller videos
but just some examples today. I love my by far mules. They are from last year and I fully plan
on wearing them all this year as well and I also like to have little ankle booties sometimes too
something like this where I've got just enough height and then also these are going to be much
more lengthening under those longer jeans. They have a pointed toe just like these flats. Anytime
that you have a pointed toe it's going to look much more tall because it creates this two inch
illusion that just in a 2D world it will really lengthen and make you look like you've got a few
extra inches on you and so that is going to be perfect. This one is from Nesolo. I can leave
guys links for this as well but this one is just a little bit darker than my skin tone which I'm
much more fair-skinned so it might be perfect for other people and anything that will match your
particular skin tone is the takeaway there. So not necessarily like a nude shoe or a beige shoe
but something that matches yours to where it's not color blocking is the key. So those were my
basics for summertime. All pieces that I'm going to be able to mix and match with and really carry
me through not only this summer but then store and then bring them out again next year. I know I
will definitely wear all of these pieces and if you want any more ideas for basics for summertime
to look taller then definitely let me know in the comments what you'd like to see and be sure to add
your own down there too if you'd like and I'll see you guys next time. Bye!
