Italy - Road To Glory ✪ EURO 2020

And it's Italy who are the champions of Europe. Can't help but feel pleased for him. He deserves the big prizes like this. Italy are the champions of Europe. Florenzi goes long for the first time. Looked to have been a little too long but the ball was kept alive and then put wide. Back come Italy. This time it's a long-range effort that was speculative at best. Chiellini with the header. What a save that is. Movement from right to left from Berardi. And the header is wide from Immobile. So he's going to try. Oh the sting taken off by Spinazzola. It really is but... It's Berardi. Oh Berardi's got in now. And it's an own goal. It's gone in off Meri Demiral. That's what it's taken for Italy to find a way. There was a very untimely stumbling. Held on to but he's shrugged off the challenge to shoot. And to pull back. That's Immobile. Not this time. He's been brilliant today, Spinazzola. Berardi. Spotted the run. Another one from Spinazzola. Well kept out. Not that one though. Immobile in for two. Turkey now in trouble. Kovacic. Up towards Karaman. He needed a bit more on it. Yeah, it's a good ball to him though. That's why the rebuild. That's why the work went into looking at a lot of different individuals. Here's Insignia. All over. And Italy have been all over Turkey from the start. Celhanoglu. That's a clever pass. Yilmaz. Great tackle by Chiellini. Game one. Goes emphatically to him. By Locatelli. And Spinazzola's away and can get the cross in. And it created a chance. Chiellini! Chiellini! Made it his! German VAR. Universal joy amongst the Italian squad. It's Berardi. Strong running style of his. And he's set it up for Locatelli. And this one surely will count. A temporary reprieve. For Switzerland no more than that. It was a poor pass if it was Barella. There is Barella. Locatelli! Oh, he's done it again. This time from further out. First goal from a long run. And here is a chance for Zouba. Another chance to cut it back as well. And it could get even better here. And that's going to be either one thing or the other. From Chiesa. Fresh legs. He's in. Immobile this time. Sekiri again. He's done that beautifully. But plenty of those... ...from the veterans like Dino Zoff. Here's Immobile. And it's seen as a foul. Out by Rodriguez. It's worth a shot from distance. It's certainly worth a shot from distance. When that happens. And Chiro Immobile. And blows the final whistle. And Italy are through to the last 16. Messina. An advanced midfield role. Is Bastoni allowed to carry the ball? They send in a beautiful ball to the back post. And it just evaded Bellotti. And Emerson. He might have a go. It's comfortable for Ward in the end. And the ball clipped in. Very good defending. But it drops back out again. And almost diverted. In it goes from James. Nice flat corner as well. And that was pretty close. Gunter. Of all people. He's dangerous. Bastoni. Teasing one in. Breaks to the back post. Couldn't hit the target. Chiesa. Calls it. Daniel James. Chips it with a diagonal towards Rodon. That's not it. But there's the ball from Berazzi through. And that's always the danger in a blink of an eye. All the moves for Italy. Chiesa goes down. He'll win a free kick here. Berazzi. Clever. Very clever. That's the breakthrough. Perfect. Berazzi again. Look at that for a clever ball in. And he almost provided another goal. Bernadeschi. Swings one in towards near post. Ward. Berazzi leaves it for Bernadeschi. Tries to sneak it through. And almost did. Off the post in. Can he pull it back to Blucher? Pulls it back. And another save from Ward. Ward in the right place to the nose. Roberts with a diagonal. And it's helped on. A bail. Puts it over. And they're linking up well again. This desperate challenge is in front of the Welsh. And they're in a snapshot. For a ballot in. Ward just got... Still two minutes left, John. Yep. They're having a shot rolled in. Ward makes the save. He had it. Schlager blocked it. One back by Berazzi though. Spinazzola. Wide of the target. What can the middle man conjure up here? Straight forward in the end for Backman. And a drop of the shoulder again. The cut back into Barella. Denied by Backman's leg. Good reflexes from the Watford goalkeeper. That's for Nautovic to chase. He got goal side of Bonucci. And he got underneath the shot. Mobley wants more. Long way out. And he nearly caught Backman out. It is Alaba. And it's off target. Wrong choice. Anthony Taylor says play on. Savitza does just that. Deflected and deflected just wide. In from Leina. Alaba jumping and out of it. Austria lead Italy. And Marko and out of it. He rules the goal out. He's got this one across. Berardi. Miscued. Competed in. That would be new ground. Chiesa. Went for goal. Safely held by Backman. Here's Chiesa again. Bouncing up at him. He did really well. He did exceedingly well. Federico Chiesa for Italy. To break the deadlock in extra time. They have found a way. And it's the substitute. Chiesa. Insigne. They're all waiting for it to drop. That's game. Huge moment. It's Pessina. All against Wales. Has a second goal against Austria. There's a chance. And it still might be. For Sabitzer. Goes for goal. And he forces a terrific save from Backman. All introduced now from Austria. As the corner goes in. All the way in from Schalke. Touch on the way. From Kalaich. And also Goric. Cleared by Achebe. Goric through the crowd. And then right across the fence. Backman's come to meet him. Can Chiesa get there? And there it is. The previous well-oiled Italian machine. Had a few splutters tonight. Both these nations won every qualifier to get here. They've both won every game so far. In the tournament. Belgium. Once again in front of Thibaut Courtois. All the way through. There's no man in there. I'm wondering if he's offside. Chiellini again. Initial ball that comes. Still De Bruyne. Denied by Donnarumma. Well, that's beautiful play. Up against Chiellini. Denied by Donnarumma and put behind by Di Lorenzo. Brilliant football. Breathtaking from one end of the pitch to the other. Forward here, Italy. Still Chiesa. Deflected. Manoni into the arms of Courtois. Insigne. Wanted the angle to Kirtland. Never really got over it. That was quickly taken in towards Immobile. Looked theatrical. It's come back to Verratti. Then Chiesa. He's done it again. Barella. This one does count for Italy. And this time they do lead. Well defended by Meunier. Oh, what a try that was from Chiesa. Insigne again. Tielemans trying to come back with him, but he's rounded. Insigne. What a hit! Two for Italy. D'Arcoult. Oh, Di Lorenzo. He's given it. The Slovenian referee points to the spot to reduce the deficit. Which he takes. Belgian back in the game. Romelu Lukaku's fourth goal of the tournament. D'Arcoult's on his way. And he's found Kevin De Bruyne. Lukaku! Italy survive. We're not sure how. Well, I wondered if De Bruyne was going to hit it. It's a brilliant move again. Look at the movement from De Bruyne. He's found Chiesa. Insigne. What a good ball! Oh, and Spinezzola can't take the off. Direct run from him. Chadli, two substitutes combining. Lukaku couldn't get there. Neither could Hazard. I wondered if Chadli there was going to do something special. That pace again. How's it going to end up? Off target from the teenager. The Italian rose continues to flower. Forward is beautifully weighted as well. And the goal opens up. And it hits the post. Varela. Riata Bal taking on Chiellini. Dani Olmo, good save by Donnarumma to his right hand. Lorenzo Insigne. Emerson, can he get there? He can. Bal to his right-hand side. Ferran Torres in the middle. Valdi Lorenzo knew exactly what was around him. About here, running at Chiellini, coming inside. Busquets! Nearly, nearly, nearly. Funneled back quickly. Chiesa, through the legs of Jordi Albo. Well, saved. A sample around Giorgino. Good hit, well saved. Great ball down the middle. What a superb challenge by Laporte. But Chiesa's up to it. Chiesa, yes! Federico Chiesa for... That's not a great header away, though. And Koke can skip it. Oh, Iacobal's missed it. Missed it. And he comes... Iacobal again. Good first touch. Olmo! Great effort from Olmo to... Oh, great ball for Adi. An orthodox kind of save in Italy. Spain have lost possession. And it's Domenico Berardi. Areas to exploit, that's for sure. Morata forward. Olmo! Morata! Goal! Forget that. Morata! To catch out on the Roma. And it's Morata. And it's blocked by Chiellini. And the deflection takes it behind. And it was... Try to stay down at the moment. And now it goes up. Which penalty is going to take first? Maybe Spain will get that option if... Saved! The Italian goal. He's missed it. Score! And scores! Scores! And it's saved by Donnarumma! Roberto Mancini has kept things as they were for Italy. With so much attention on the Centurions in defence. Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini have played in the Euros final before. Run ragged by Spain in 2012. It hasn't happened often to do masters of the defending art. Emerson and Jorginho call London home. The Chelsea players both present. Settled to watch. To urge their teams on. And there are perhaps... The Walker is charging past Trippier. Is Trippier who'll cross? And it's Luke Shaw! It's the start of dreams! Luke Shaw's first ever goal for his country. Is the fastest ever scored in a European Championship final. To the Raptors as... Chiesa takes a tumble. Shaw... To the senior. And it's high. A couple of times but he's away anyway. And Chiesa's shot. Oh, Pickford wasn't saving that. That's just a... Terrific work again from Shaw. It was just missing the Mount Flick. Shaw. Stirling. Stirling darts through. Then went down. He claims he was held on to. No, it's not a penalty. They try and break again. And they have got a free kick. Right on the edge of the England penalty area. Emerson leaves it. Insignia strikes. And Insignia couldn't find the target. Chiesa fires in. Collected by Insignia. Dribbled his way to the byline. This is Chiesa. Chiesa goes on. We've seen him do this before. Brilliantly saved. Shafia. Just over the top. Tipped over the top by the giant. Chiesa swung it in. It's behind for a corner. Good job it was Insignia in there. Five-foot ball. Benucci trying to find some space. It's flicked across. This is a problem. And it is in. Italy are level. And it is Benucci who's put them that way. One of the most experienced players in the World Game. A rock at the back. A thorn. Benucci. That's a great ball. But it's over the bar. Pickford out to meet Berardi. In extra time. Everything is different. He's towards his goal. Phillips might have a go at goal. He does. To stop the run. Comes off Pickford. And it's bounced behind. It wasn't kept in. It will be itself. And hits it hard. Straight at Pickford who cushions it down. Make sure there's... Kane. Everything at that moment. Donnarumma. And Berardi. Scores for the Benucci. And Rashford is missed. Bernadeschi. And he's... Saved by Donnarumma. Pickford is down to stop him. England are still up. It's saved by Donnarumma. And it's Italy who are the champions of Europe. Proved to be the dagger in English hearts once more. Can't help but feel pleased for him. He deserves the big prizes like this. Italy are the champions.
