Are there any other numbers you'd want to be associated with instead?
Eight.
Why?
It's my favourite soccer team player, Steven Gerrard.
One of the best players I've seen in my life, not only in the Premier League but in the world.
The best player you ever played with for England?
I'd have to say Gerrard, you know, he got us two games.
Hello Steve, just to say it was a pleasure to play with you
many years when we played Manchester against Liverpool.
You are a fantastic player, I wish you all the best for your career and for your life.
Stevie G knocked at my house at three o'clock in the morning,
wants to sleep with me, misses, I'd probably let him.
The best player I play with, I say many times that he's the player that completes my game.
Any system, any team, key player for me and obviously
the most important player in that role.
You have to pick one player to go into a team,
you can't tell me you would pick Lampard over Gerrard.
You've both got Gerrard ahead of Lampard in this order.
You're the messiah, you've been doing it for how long, 30 years?
I think the best footballer is Gerrard, out of him and Lampard.
For me, Gerrard, always.
He belongs to the top ten in the world, definitely.
He knows how I admire him and his career, what he has done for this country.
I tried to bring him to Chelsea, I tried to bring him to Inter,
I tried to bring him to Real Madrid and he was always a dear enemy.
In a strange way, as an enemy, will you miss him?
I will miss him, yes.
I want my league to be always the best league,
I want my league to have always the best players.
Steven Gerrard or Paul Sturridge?
Steven Gerrard is an utter, utter animal.
He is so big, so strong, he's got such big levers,
he's aggressive, he's the best header of the ball,
he's fast, he's strong,
he could play right back and be the best player in the Premier League,
he could play left wing and be the best player in the Premier League,
he could put him anywhere.
Steven Gerrard, the greatest player to ever play for Liverpool, in my opinion,
goes in and this goal just sums him up against Olympiacos
and then we go on to win the European Cup.
Without that goal, there's no Istanbul.
He just dragged Liverpool to Istanbul, winning Istanbul 2005 final.
As I say, an incredible footballer and also, in this day and age,
a really humble, good human being.
I think he's kept his head down and done everything right.
The way he could decide a game at any time,
with his abilities, it was just breathtaking at times.
That was unbelievable.
He scored too many goals from outside
and just like you hit the ball, it's going straight to the corner.
He's etched his name in Anfield folklore
with some of the most audacious moments of individual brilliance.
Against Olympiacos and without that goal,
we couldn't live the miracle of Istanbul.
So that was pretty special.
And the year after we leave the FA Cup final,
another similar but unbelievable strike from Steven from 30 yards.
That's why, for me, he was one of my heroes.
He's been fantastic for the football club,
and every accolade that he gets, he thoroughly deserves.
He took my game up tenfold by his demeanour,
the way he trained, the way he was around the place.
You know, you've got Steven Gerrard,
like I said, one of the greatest players of all time.
Then handing the capacity down to Jordan Henderson.
Down or across?
Well, down at the time.
He was a hero growing up.
I was lucky enough to play with him for a year.
And looking ahead to the game,
any other players you're particularly excited about seeing?
Stevie. I'd love to see Stevie.
What was it like for you when Steven Gerrard scored that goal?
That was great.
It was definitely an adrenaline rush from not only myself,
but from the rest of the fans that was watching the game.
To be here live and witness that from the captain who's been injured,
who, you know, brought the home come back to the team.
I think it was probably one of the single most,
you know, fun and experiences I've had at a match.
I was fortunate enough to play in some of the great Liverpool teams.
Teams that dominated Europe.
We won everything.
I can honestly say that Steven Gerrard would have got on any of those teams.
