I'm also sensing the camaraderie between you and Snoop.
Yeah, between all of us, honestly.
Well, I saw that you guys had a connection because you're a kid, right?
Yeah, it was so weird.
Like, my daughter's six.
And no, this is not any salt on it, as my wife would say.
She's in the kitchen and she says,
Papi, are you going to go work with Snoop Dogg?
And I go, yeah.
And how would she?
I said, like, yeah.
And she said, can you give him a video message for me?
And I said, OK.
And I said, why do you know Snoop Dogg?
She said, because I listened to Affirmations.
No.
And I said, what?
Did you see this?
There's a video of it.
It's so cute.
She goes, Alexa, play Affirmations.
And all of a sudden.
Can we play that video?
Or we'll get flack by Affirmations.
You can probably play the video, not the song, not the Affirmations song.
I don't know.
But all of a sudden, she started.
And so she made this video.
And she was like, no joke, film me, Dad.
She said, Snoop, can you sing a song with my papi?
This song.
So they brought us down.
You know what this stuff is, right?
These upfronts, they call it.
Right.
I've never done TV before, so I don't know what upfronts are.
Upfronts for those that are listening that don't know or watching that they don't know.
You go in May.
You'll go to New York.
Was it New York?
Yep.
Yeah.
You'll go to New York and every advertiser, like whether they're Ford or all the agencies
or whatever, go there to be presented what the new television seasons are so that they
can buy and commit to it.
Billions of dollars worth of advertising.
So I'm tripping.
I'm tripping, Jacqueline, because I got to go meet Snoop.
And I don't know what I'm doing.
I've never really watched too much of the show, as much as I should.
And I've never met Snoop.
And he's really cool.
I'm a fan.
And I'm probably going to be disappointed.
I have been with 95% of the people that I've really liked and met.
In a minute, we're going to ask you who the most disappointing person is.
But keep going with this story.
So nothing.
I showed up.
They sat us in a booth.
And I said, like, hey, man.
And he said, like, what's up, Mike?
And I said, like, hey, man.
And I said, look, I'm nervous to do this whole thing.
I said, I got to show you my daughter.
And I showed him the video.
And he looked at me.
And he said, wait, wait.
And he said, why does she know this?
I said, well, it turns out her kindergarten teacher, Miss Paseel, hugs the kids as they
come in and then plays your song, Affirmations, every morning for the kindergarten class.
And his eyes got so big.
He started to cry.
Yeah, man.
He said to me, wait, whoa, whoa.
He said, you're telling me that in Vancouver, Canada, they're playing this song?
And it was this, honestly, man, it was like, it was instant.
He said to me, and he got so excited like a kid.
He said, like, I made this for my grandkids.
I did this because I wanted to do something positive and connect.
And he said, really?
Like, that's, and it was instantly.
And it was like, I met Snoop, who Snoop really is.
Not, again, we talk about brands and this deep, beautiful, emotional, smart, funny man.
And right away, it was like, wow, this is what it's going to be.
This is, and we all loved each other.
Anyway, from the, I know you do.
I'm not telling you to take favorites, but I'm telling you, you know,
nowadays, whether it's television or social media, music, whatever it is.
Authenticity, for some reason, rises to the top.
And not that you don't authentically love everybody that you're working with.
But there is a strong, weird, undescribable connection between you and Snoop.
And it's so great to watch.
You know what I think is so funny about that, too?
We just had Arsenio on, and he was just talking about how Snoop
didn't want to come on a show because of his street cred.
He thought it would hurt his street cred.
That was the first TV show he ever did.
You know, even for Snoop, and that's how we knew that story.
For Snoop to post that your daughter made him cry, I didn't know it from your post.
He said that.
So you've opened up a door to him that he was never opening up.
And that's what Jackie was just bringing up.
That's a long journey from the guy who didn't want to do...
He did his first freestyle ever on TV, on Arsenio.
Arsenio was here the other day.
And a guy that didn't want to lose street cred to this six-year-old girl
from the daughter of a guy I just met made me cry because she's listening.
That's a journey.
No, man.
And that's something so beautiful about a human being.
You know what I mean?
Accepting it and loving it and not being afraid to take on that new role.
And by the way, I love it.
It's cute out there.
