PRESENTATION :
The Lobadanaki refuge is a care and rehabilitation center for birds and mammals of Quebec wildlife.
The refuge also has a conservation component and a sanctuary for non-rehabilitable species which helps raise awareness among the public.
Since 2016, we have welcomed more than 3,500 patients into care, in addition to providing a sanctuary for life to nearly 200 individuals.
DISTINCTION:
Our center stands out for our eco-responsible working methodologies in order to be as consistent as possible with our values and the reason for being of the center which is to help reduce the impact of human action on wildlife and flora.
All our facilities are 100% recycled and our site is designed to be as traceless as possible. When we fight against deforestation, loss of habitat, overconsumption, it is essential to be able to circumvent these actions by taking actions in our way of living on a daily basis that fully reflect these awareness.
The shelter is also 100% self-sufficient thanks to various food partners.
We treat our animals mainly with medicinal plants in order to reduce the impact that synthetic medications could have on the patients' bodies.
APPOINTMENT:
We are currently nominated for the environmental excellence award by the Estrienne environmental foundation.
