B-roll: Giant Panda Mei Xiang's 25th Birthday at Smithsonian's National Zoo

Hi, I'm Mariel. I'm one of the panda keepers here at Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. Today is a very special day. We are celebrating Meixiang's 25th birthday here at the zoo. We are celebrating with a nice ice cake for her. It's made with some of her favorite foods like apple juice, mashed sweet potatoes, apple slices, and even carrots for a little crunch. And she's also receiving some special enrichment made by our team that has happy birthday messages on there for her and her fans, as well as honey inside for her to enjoy. We are so excited to celebrate Meixiang. She brings us so much joy and happiness here at the panda house, and we know she also brings it to her fans all over the world. Thank you to all of our giant panda fans for celebrating Meixiang's birthday with us, whether it was through the panda cam or making it out here in person to tell her happy birthday.
