you see a port hole go right through it
maybe a speed breaker doesn't matter you
see a rough patch gas right through it
you see yourself stuck in a traffic
situation and you have to free yourself
and you see a small pathway but there is
nothing but slush smk rocks this is the
bike that you would want the Ducati
desert X rally and if you have the
skills to tame this 21 Kil odd Beast of
a machine with 910 mm of seat height
trust me there is virtually nothing
stopping you from Waring what you want
to do I'm going to be telling you how it
performs what it has to offer and more

[Music]
one now how does the Ducar desert X
rally perform now get let's get some
numbers out of the way first uh it
houses a 937 CC liquid cooled L twin
engine the duari Testa engine that makes
110 BHP of power and 92 new M of peak
torque having said that it comes uh
equipped with a six-speed uh gearbox
with B Direction quick shifter and uh
which works actually seamlessly now it
has six riding modes I think that's the
only Ducati which has that so you have
Enduro you have vet you have sport you
have Urban you have rally and you have
touring so when you are in the city or
when you are on those Highway Johns I
would suggest that you stick to the
touring mode or the urban mode because
uh that's a little more tamed it's a
little more uh docile uh but even then
it's really fast but at the same time
Endura and rally those are the two modes
where you can actually have some fun you
have all the power at your disposal and
the rear ABS it turns off and you can
have quite a lot of fun in that in those
two modes having said that there's a
flat top curve that the bike gifts you
with so there's ample amount of talk at
your backck and call you need a quick
overtakes easy just like that at the
snap of a finger at the same time you
have a sudden quench for a little burst
of power blip the throttle and there it
is you go just like that and to be
honest the weight could be an issue it
has a 21 Kil bike now that becomes an
issue only when it is on the stand still
which means when you're trying to get
into a parking zone or when you're
getting out of one that is when the bike
actually calls for a little more uh
strength which you might have if you
taking care of yourself and you have to
because the kind of bike this is it
looks small but it is not trust me you
it's not it has 280 mm of ground
clearance and the seat height itself is
9910 mm which means average bikes have
780 mm 750 mm of seat height so we have
750 800 850 and 9910 so this one you
know actually but there's bounds to that
as well so when you're sitting up on the
bike once you once the bike gets rolling
and you're sitting on it it actually all
that weight that 210 kilos of weight it
vanishes into Into Thin Air it's
actually surprisingly Nimble on its feet
and apart from that you sit quite
perched up high with a nice commanding
View and like I said the seating
position is neutral you sit in a very
neutral stance which makes you uh quite
relaxed and very neutral in the way when
you're sitting it's actually great for
Highway Johns the seat on the other hand
might not be the most comfortable of
course because it's not meant to be
comfortable it's it's a place where
you're supposed to be uncomfortable at
the same time enjoy doing it now with
280 mm of ground cleance throw whatever
you have it at Big Rocks places like
this where you know your skills would
matter a lot and you might be a little
concerned about maybe rocks would bash
the guard or something but as you can
see so there's a proper sum guard right
over there which helps the bike protect
anything that you can throw at it and
trust me if you try to scrutinize this
bike with rough train or throwing things
at it trust me you'll be doing this one
a favor but when you are doing off-road
surfaces like this it takes a little
skill but once you have developed that
trust me you you will not look any
further for any other bike because this
is all the bike you need right here now
moving on let's talk about the
suspension of the bike you have kayaba
USD Forks up front fully adjustable it's
a 48 mm suspension with 250 mm of travel
fully adjustable and at the rear you
have a kayaba mono shck again 240 mm of
travel both are fully adjustable and
they do a phenomenal job of absorbing
whatever you throw at it not too stiff
not too soft just the right amount to
give you the suspension that you need on
road as well as when you are doing tough
terrain like this at the same time
braking duties they are done by Brembo
calipers right up there so up front you
have two twin dis rotors 320mm they both
do not have a sharp bite which is a good
thing trust me in conditions like this
you do not need a sharp bite it has a
very gradual bite the progression is
actually quite friendly and it doesn't
take much time to get used to it so in
that terms I think the bike is very
friendly it might look a little
intimidating and to be honest once you
start riding it for the first few days
you it takes a little time for you to
calibrate but other than that trust me
you it's an amazing bike to be once you
have saddled in and you have calibrated
well enough it's a hood to ride it has
ample of power on tap and uh you won you
don't and the best part is apart from
roads you are stuck in a situation where
you know you see maybe at places like
lak or something you're stuck in a place
where there's a lot of traffic but you
can see that you can you know go over
there but there's a lot of rock so the
only limitation here is your own skill
having said that this is all the bike
you will ever need for your Highway johs
for your off-roading Thrills and for
everything else in between or for that
matter over and above the desert X rally
rarely leaves any room for complaints
now if you look at the ducti desert X
rally it's undeniably off-road capable
and the reason to that is well not just
the looks but the components it gets to
start with you have the Slick pelli uh
Scorpio rally S strr Tires now this one
is a a 21in wheel and you have spoke
wheels again this is tube tires these
are not tubeless the tube ones you get
on the ducatti desert X for the rally
you have proper tube tires now if you
get a puncher that would be a problem
but then again these are these these
tires don't get punchered easily so you
have Brembo calipers two uh discs up
front two rotors up front 320 mm discs
and for suspension you have kayaba FKS
goldplated again this is 250 mm of
travel and 48 mm Kaba FKS upside down
they look quite nice and as we move
there that's the radiator Grill you have
this guard right here this is again a 21
L tank 5 Gall again uh this is a guard
uh engine guard that protects from the
mck dirt and all the rocks that you
would probably bash it against when
you're doing off-road you have serated
foot pegs for uh serated foot pegs and
Brake liver same goes for the gear liver
as well as for the billions you have
this slim seat right here and it's not
the most comfortable but then again this
is
uh not supposed to be comfortable again
this is supposed to be uh more about uh
function over form you have a nice grab
ra right over here you have 18in again
pelli Scorpio SDR tires and uh so you
have 320 mm uh twin disc rotors up there
and you have a 265 mm rotor right up
here Brembo and again 280 mm of ground
clearance as you can see 910 mm of seat
height so I am around 5T 10 inches tall
and let me show you even for me so
someone who is 61 or 62 even that person
can have a little tricky time sitting on
this so this is how I sit on it and if I
remove the stand so right now it's a
little uneven but I can barely tiptoe so
only one of my legs are going here so I
can sit like this comfortably with one
of my legs there but both of them they
don't really touch down but uh if I put
the stand back on this is how you sit on
the reach is quite intuitive and it's
actually falls in naturally and your
foot pegs are neutrally placed right
below your hip and even when you stand
on the bike this is how you look so it's
actually a very comfortable place to be
in you can stand like this for hours and
you have a single piece handlebar right
over here the suspensions are fully
adjustable you have heated grips you
have adjustable levers you have knuckle
G you have a a small uh wind protector
over here and you have conventional
mirrors actually the mirrors could have
been a little better I feel and apart
from that you get a 5in vertical screen
right over here you can toggle through
your all your modes from here from and
it's actually very easy to use it's not
that confusing for that matter now in
terms of equipment there's also a
steering damper given right here so when
you are doing off-roading like proper
off-roading there's a lot of undulations
that you know go through uh the
suspension as well so instead of them
coming right up to the handle bars
there's a proper steering damper right
over here and you can adjust the clicks
on this as well you can minimize it you
can maximize it so there is a steering
damper also available on the Ducati
desert X rally apart from that I think
when I'm riding in it does heat up so
unlike the DI V4 where you have a
cylinder deactivation technology uh
where the rear two cylinders actually
are turned off when you are at low
speeds that actually helps in not uh
cooking your thighs but this one does
cook your thighs and uh if you're not in
complete gear and even if you are for
that matter you will feel the heat it's
a it's a proper liter class bike and it
will make you feel the heat when you are
riding it actually gunning it and even
if you are stuck in traffic for that
matter but apart from that I think it
has a lot to offer now in terms of tech
nanes you get a lot of things here you
get Ducard traction control you Ducard
wheelie control you get cornering ABS to
name a few so in that way the desert X
rally is properly coming loaded with all
the tech and nannies it's loaded to the
guils in terms of that you have an
offset fuel cap right over here it could
have been in the center but it looks
really nice I think that goes well with
the design you have the decals right
over here and the entire black white and
red Theme Goes so well with the design
of this bike it looks proper Offroad
machine and it's intimidating as well at
the same time you will be gathering
quite a lot of ice because this looks
like a proper SUV manifested into a bike
like take out the two wheels you sit up
purged high so that is what in terms of
equipment and ergonomics this bike has
to offer now who is the desert X rally
targeted at to be honest if you develop
the skill to tame this bike it will give
you the tool to go no matter where it is
roads or no roads you will be on the go
at an asking price of
23.72% the tool to go no matter where
you want at your whim and in my books
that's kind of Priceless that's it from
my side on this one I'll see you on the
next one drive safe ride safe wear your
helmets follow Park Plus for all the
