The leader Nico Echevarria. Answers they see that little kind
of cut holdoff finish that back right pin trying to bleed it
back there. Judge perfectly.
Shot by Echevarria.
And little left of this flag.
Temple on that golf. All three of these guys in the final group
look good. To that aggressive T shirt, Echevarria for birdie
tiptoeing along Little Ridge, certainly quick and moving left.
He looks good. Yeah, this one's a good one.
They like that one right off the bat.
You gotta fly at least to the flag.
Yeah, it's carrying the right distance.
Oh.
And on a little bit of a downslope in the rough, that's
going to be tricky. Yeah, pretty severe downslope, but he's at
least pitching into the slope of the screen.
Show some skills with the short game yesterday.
And that's actually pretty decent guys have kept it
underneath the hole. Not too bad at all.
This is a good litmus test for our leader. It's pretty much
straight up the hill.
Well, neither of us have a crystal ball Craig, but you're
going to look back if you're Nico Echevarria. If you end up
missing this playoff or losing by one to get it through the
grass, I'm not sure you could get along on through there.
Gonna get have to get down.
He has a lot of club. Obviously it came out a lot faster than
he anticipated. Pretty good break there. Hopefully that
those camera people are OK, but he's got some space to use, but
it is on a downslope that will land on a downslope and trundle
down towards the flag.
Looks pretty good.
He's got great hands.
Really impressive under that kind of pressure.
Echeverria this football's be good up and down. This would be
a wonderful save. Sometimes you gotta take advantage of those
breaks, Tom. Yeah, you need a bit of luck if you're going to
get the victory and certainly had some fortune there.
Grace him into ball and just let it drift towards the flag.
Good shot here.
So speed pretty quick.
There you go.
Ends the drought for this final group and takes a one shot lead.
But of course, Justin Thomas still has a good 30 chance to
come. Echeverria ready to go his second thick line and again
just trying to advance it somewhere down.
And that's a mistake hit it in the heavy rough from there, even
though that was not the best of lies. 68 for Hideki Matsuyama.
Echeverria out of the rough. 135 a horrible line. Big mess to
the right.
That might have plugged on that downslope there.
That is so good. Even if it doesn't stay there, which looks
like it's not going to that is really, really good.
Once it catches that ridge will go another 10, 15, 20 feet closer
to the front left portion of the green will get two looks at the
line, though.
Can Echeverria say par back at 14?
I lose at least one.
Well done. That's a tricky little putt, especially when it's
for bogey.
Little knockdown six left to the flag. He's twirling.
Well, that is the best place to be putting from at the 16th and
I think that was probably a little accidental because you
heard him say to Reynolds, I think I like something a little
bit right of that.
So does that putter have another one in it?
Echeverria gets that to go. He's at 19 under. We're all tied up.
Claw grip. He squares up his shoulders so well.
Just catches the left side. Great birdie. Right when he needed
it, George.
Made eagle here yesterday. Replicate that you might get your
second victory. Good start.
It's played this 18th hole four under this week.
Need to get this moving left to right, Craig. Not really.
You know, pretty straight.
Well, it's hit really well, and if this is enough, this is right
on line with the flag.
Oh, just clears.
And that's on the green and two will be an eagle putt for
Echeverria.
Take a look at this. Just enough lands in the rough, but takes
a big hop, gets out to the middle of the green.
Inside 40 feet for eagle in the wind.
Echeverria so clutch in winning his second PGA Tour event.
He's your 2024 Zozo Championship winner.
First time playing this event.
First time to Japan.
There's a co-leader on that 72nd hole and did exactly what you
have to do to get the win, and now it's his second consecutive
season with the win on the PGA Tour. We got a moment. Let's
send it down to correct perks with the champs. Thank you very
much, George. Nico began the day with a two shot lead. You looked
extremely calm all day. How were the emotions?
They were they were fine.
I managed it well.
I don't think I would have gotten this wind without the
victory in Puerto Rico. I took a lot from that and just kept
myself calm.
And it was it was very fun. That was a lot of fun with these two
guys battling it out. And here we go.
When you won in Puerto Rico, you said the one proved to yourself
that you were better than what you thought. What does the
second one do?
Proving a little more now.
I'm just super excited. This is it's it's been a lot of work.
It's been a lot of rough weeks. But moments like this are the
ones that make everything better.
Came in here as a 292nd ranked player in the world, a very,
very strong field. How much does this add to your confidence?
You just continue on in your career?
A lot. It's the second win on the PGA Tour. Not a lot of
people get to win two times on the PGA Tour in two years. So
I'm just gonna enjoy this as much as I can and get ready for
the next one.
Congratulations. Enjoy.
