With almost no preparation time, it was important to have some tunes that rely heavily on improvisation and have a fun roadmap, like this one, “Charlie Brown Goes to South Africa” by Kenny Garrett. I’m really thankful to be embarking on a journey with Roland Szentpali (tuba) and Jacek Obstarczyk (piano) to redefine what’s possible for a group with this instrumentation.
