ToR Switch Demystified: Empowering IT Pros with Networking Insights
What is a ToR switch? How does this interesting data center network switch play an important role in a Spine-Leaf network topology? ToR switches reduce costs per rack of servers and storage and are also called “Leaf” switches. ToR switches are critical in connecting all the servers and storage in a single rack to each other and the data center network. Leaf/ToR switches do not use STP which increases capacity, they also are desired for low-latency computing. ToR/Leaf switches are critical in cloud applications using containers and virtualization.
