Johnny Depp's Favorite Part of Playing Jack Sparrow

This is the fifth movie. Can you believe that when you did the first one, did you think there would even be a second one? I didn't think I'd make it past three weeks. Really? Yeah. No, no, I was right on the way out of Disney premises. And then look, wow, look at it now. It's crazy. And then there's more. From what I heard today, there's like four or five more lined up. Is that true? Four or five more? Yeah. I'll be doing this till I'm like 150. Yes, exactly. I'll be appearing at your local fast food restaurant just outside. Theater in the round, eat Jack Sparrow. Would you ever do that, just go on the road? You go to children's hospitals as Jack Sparrow. You could go on the road as Jack Sparrow. It's actually, it's great fun because it's like sort of like a three and a half hour improvisation. You go into the hospital and say hi to the kitties and you see this amazing. Isn't that sweet? I can't believe that, I mean, that's so sweet that you do that. And you do that a lot. You do that often. Yeah, I mean, as much as I can. Wherever I go, I bring Captain Jack in a box. Captain Jack in the box. Jack in the box. If they haven't made that toy yet, they should, Captain Jack in the box, where you turn it. I'd like to design it, actually. You should, if they haven't done it yet. But yeah, you meet all these amazing kids who are dealing with very, very adult illnesses. And you see this incredible courage in their faces. It's the parents who are just falling apart. So I don't break character, I just try to sort of do as much stupid stuff as I can to make people, to make them laugh, you know? I was a parent in a hospital once for a few weeks. Yeah, your daughter was in the hospital. Yeah, she was a kid, she was seven. So I- You know what that feels like. Well, that's amazing. I mean, it's one thing to go through, like you said, it's the parents that really struggle the most, that have to go home, or try to hold it together and be strong for the kids. Right, they're with the kid at all times. Is this true, that you have never seen one of your movies, but this one you actually did watch, right? But you didn't see any of the others? No, I saw part of maybe the first one. I ran out anyway, it doesn't matter. Ran out like a scared rat. But this one I did see, because it's the fifth one. I want to make sure that we're delivering what we need to deliver to the people. Because the people, you guys went and saw the thing three, four, five times, who knows, you know what I mean? You deserve to not be spoon-fed formula. So I tried to up the stakes a little with some of the jokes. And you're happy with it, right? You should be. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a great advertisement, because that people. You know, I can't stand watching myself. I understand. But yeah, no, yeah. Yeah, it's OK, you should see it, because yeah, yeah. No, it's very funny, it's great. If you're not in it, you should see it. That's the way you say it. Everyone who's not in the film should see it. Go see it, yeah.
