So I'm really excited to try probably the only boulder set by Alex Honhold. He set it for you
know when he did the movie tour and this is the crux of Freerider. This is like the on the hardest
pitch, the hardest part of the route. It's just it's gonna be interesting to see how hard it is
because the fact that he did that like a thousand or not a thousand but like 500 meters above the
ground it's just mind-blowing. It's crazy. I can still not say the word by the way so I have to
there's a word I have to avoid. I think you all know what I'm talking about so I'm being a little
bit cryptic and that's why. This V4 looks very interesting and it's set by, we were set with my
favorite shoe brand Scarpa. I didn't even know they had Scarpa holes. It's not that bad actually.
Oh this red looks cool. Dualtex looks tricky. There are a lot of good climbers in London too.
That's like they have Toby Roberts. He's like one of the best climbers in the world right now.
He trains at these gyms so first of all they set harder grades but also I think it's, I don't
know yet but I suspect that it's a little bit more sandbagged than other gyms because the Brits are
notorious for that. I guess these are on. That was not too bad actually. Maybe it's not true
what they say. Maybe it's not sandbagged in the UK. Okay V6. I actually saw there's a really cool V6
on the other side here so now I'm just warming up but after warming up I'm going to try Alex's
problem. I don't think I'm going to flash it. I think it's going to be really hard and I don't
say that to be humble. I say that because I've seen a lot of strong people struggle on it.
That second to last one was really bad. I didn't want to use that. The route setter here is really
tall. The size of the route setter usually you can tell how the problems are like because if
the route setter is tall it's going to set more reachy, longer moves, bigger moves and this boulder
looks like it has some pretty big moves but we'll see. There's a blue one V8 in the overhang that
looks like one of the hardest. The route setter just took down all the or most of the holes around
the boulder pump to make it look clean for the video. The boulder pump looks pretty reachy so
I don't think my chances of doing. I don't think I'm going to do that well on it to be honest
but V8 blue this looks very just powerful. I almost skipped the second to last hole. I didn't
see it. I thought you had to go straight. Okay cool I think it's time to try the no rope
boulder pump. So here it is. I've been dying to try this boulder pump. This is so cool like I don't
think he's set any boulder problems ever so and the fact that they still have this here and that he
set it this is like four or five years ago. I've seen a lot of strong climbers try it and fail on it so
I'm curious how it'll do. It looks like it's kind of reachy though when you grab
this you have to get matched feet and you have to get the foot all the way out there.
That looks like the crux for sure. So I don't often get like flash nerves but now I do have a
little bit of nerves before trying this because this probably could be the coolest boulder pump
indoor boulder pump in the world. Oh my god that's so slippery that foothold.
That's a flash. I wouldn't have un-alive myself but I would never do that like if it was 500
meters down to the bottom like there's no way I would even I wouldn't even try it you know.
I'm gonna try to do it another way too because I remember when I watched the video there were two
ways, two methods. One was kind of like I was doing now doing it statically reaching my foot
out and then the other one was just dynoing to the jug. So I'm gonna see if I can do that method as
well. That works as well but no what sorry excuse the language no way I would do that without a
rope. So over there are the hardest boulder pumps in the gym. B9 and B10. I'm gonna try those as
well. I'm actually very surprised though that the Alex from that I did it like I never thought I
would like I'm not I wasn't trying to be like humble or something like I actually thought it'd
be very very difficult. It was very difficult but not that difficult. Oh no that was so much worse
than I thought. I actually talked to Alex about doing something in Yosemite together
but it's so hard to find like a permit to film in Yosemite. So I don't know if it's gonna happen.
They just make it really really difficult. You know Adam filmed the dawn wall in Yosemite and
he's not able to release the footage because he didn't apply for the thing. It was too late or
something and then now he's just sitting on all the footage and he can't release it.
So I'm not sure if it's worth it. My suggestion was that we would go and try Freerider with a rope
just to see how it is. It'd be very cool to climb it with him. I guess it would be the first time
he climbed it after he did his thing where he climbed it without any rope. So I think that
would be very interesting but he when I suggested that he suggested that we try the nose instead
but not free. The speed instead so you're aid climbing so you're pulling on gear and everything
like also just filming it all the logistics of filming something like that. It's just very
difficult. It's a hard V9 I think but especially because it's just very physical. I don't think
there's much I could do differently. I just have to pull harder basically. So maybe the UK is a
higher grade. I don't know. I just did it better. I didn't hesitate on the last move.
Hesitation is always the thing that makes you fall you know. I guess I'll try the V10 as well.
I mean why not. This is the hardest bowler in the gym I think and I don't know if anyone's
done this. The researchers said that there's a lot of strong people who've tried also the V9
but haven't succeeded. So I guess these are really hard. I feel pretty good today.
It's like some days I just feel pretty strong and other days I feel very weak. It's so up and down
but today is one of those good days. Okay that is weird. It's almost like you have to jump into that
even though I said a moment ago that I was going to hesitate. Now I'm hesitating again.
I should just try to skip that hold. Too much of a swing. I think I just have to try to keep
my foot on but that's hard and then kind of let my body go out and then jump into the Gaston.
Oh yeah yeah that's something. Maybe get my foot up before. There's one person though I've been
wanting to have on the channel for a long time and that's Janja Gambre. I know a lot of people
have commented that oh why don't you do a collab with her and I've been trying trust me. I've sent
a lot of messages. I've tried to reach her through Red Bull. Anything to do a collab with her I think
that'd be amazing. She's the best female climber in the world and people say she's very likely to
she could easily make finals for guys as well. That's how good she is. I've even heard people
think that she could be top three of the guys which is just incredible. I think it'd be incredible
to climb with her and see for myself how strong she is. She is very busy and it's just been hard.
I do hope that eventually I could do a collab with her. That'd be amazing. I just wanted to
address it because I've seen so many comments about it and if it was up to me I would have
done that a long time ago obviously. That is hard too. I'm actually not sure how to do that.
Yeah you can't. No because that's why they put the blocker there. You can't really.
There's nothing really to maybe a little. Maybe I could try. Oh yeah actually works.
You found the beta. I think they didn't want that to happen but I guess that's why they put
the other hole there that they wanted to try to block it. Sam found the beta behind the camera here.
Nice. All thanks to you Sam. That was incredible. I've never had someone behind the camera tell me
what to do and been able to do it. That was amazing. That was fun. The two hardest bowlers.
They said that like not many if any people have done these so that was very cool. All right well
I think I'm gonna end the video there. Thank you guys so much for watching. If you have any
suggestions or anything that you want me to do in the future please leave a comment below.
