What's up everybody, how's it going?
In this video, I'm going to tell you the easiest way to land a job in tech
right now in the middle of this admittedly pretty rough tech market.
It's no secret that the tech market has been rough for at least a couple of years now.
We've got tons of companies that have stopped hiring altogether.
The companies that are still hiring are hiring fewer positions.
It's much more difficult to land an interview right now,
especially for people who don't have much work experience.
And if you do land an interview,
the interviews themselves are way harder and more competitive
because of the increased demand and competition for these interviews.
That being said, it's not all doom and gloom.
In the last few months, we've seen an uptick in the total number of
open tech positions out there in the market.
And in fact, I've got a couple of firsthand experiences backing that up.
Recruiters from both Google and Facebook reached out to me directly by email,
asking me if I wanted to go back to work as a software engineer at both companies.
And they told me that they are restarting to ramp up their hiring,
which is a very good sign.
By the way, if you're a software engineer who's lucky enough
to land an interview at these companies or any other tech company,
for that matter, in this market,
you definitely want to make sure that you rigorously prepare.
Like I said before, the interviews are way more competitive.
And so here, I'll obviously recommend my company, Algo Expert.
We've got the best software engineering interview prep products on the market
across all specializations, front-end, ML, infra, iOS, you name it.
Check it out, algoexpert.io.

So this brings us to the topic of the hour,
which is what is the easiest way to land a job right now?
And it's not at Google or at Facebook.
No, the easiest way to land a job in tech right now
is to dive into the blockchain industry.
That's right, crypto.
Now, before some of you get out your fingers and start typing in the comments that,
no, Clement, what are you talking about?
Crypto is a scam, FTX, hacks, blah, blah, blah.
No, hear me out.
The blockchain industry is here to stay.
The demand and the need for decentralized services,
trust-minimized computation and services is only growing
and is only going to continue to grow over the next decade or two,
particularly with the rapid growth of artificial intelligence now.
I actually made a video on this topic a year ago
about how AI and crypto had a really great symbiotic relationship.
The fact that right now we can barely tell if text
or even images and videos are artificially generated.
Crypto is going to play a huge role in that
and being able to verify that in a sort of trust-minimized manner.
Or if you look at all the bank failures that we've had in the last year
or all the other failures like FTX,
which ironically had nothing really to do with crypto
as much as it had to do with traditional fraud.
You had individuals who basically lied about
what they were doing with customer funds.
And all these problems are going to be solved,
at least in part, by crypto and the blockchain industry.
But if you don't believe me, perhaps you'll believe BlackRock,
the largest asset management firm on the planet
that recently got its Bitcoin ETF approved.
Or perhaps you'll believe the 10 other giant firms
that got their 10 Bitcoin ETFs approved.
And all these firms are right now piling on
to get their Ethereum ETFs approved.
And these might be approved as early as May.
So let that sink in.
We've got Bitcoin ETFs, multiple of them in the United States right now,
just on the market, publicly traded.
We might get Ethereum ETFs, more likely than not,
at least eventually within a few months after May,
crypto and the blockchain industry are here to stay.
Now, how does that relate to tech jobs and easy tech jobs?
Well, over the last few years,
where we had this big crypto bear market,
as we've had many times in the past,
all the people and companies that were already in crypto
and that believe in crypto were heads down building.
And right now, as we start to enter perhaps in a bull market,
and as the hype starts to come back,
and more importantly,
because who cares about bull market hype and all that?
More importantly, as the greater world
is starting to adopt crypto more seriously,
and as we sort of pass this inflection point,
past which crypto has become completely mainstream,
you have tons and tons and tons of blockchain companies,
both old and new,
that are in dire need of software developers
and other tech adjacent roles.
So that means that you've got many, many companies out there
that are aggressively hiring developers
and other tech adjacent roles.
And on top of that, because for whatever reason,
many people in the sort of mainstream,
perhaps you included,
don't really believe in or understand crypto,
they are dismissing this industry completely.
In other words, there is way less competition
between applicants for these jobs
at these blockchain companies.
And on top of that,
these blockchain companies are aware of that,
and they are aware that because it is a nascent industry,
not everybody knows blockchain development.
So they are willing to take on developers
or other folks who might not have much experience
in blockchain development, if any at all,
or even much experience as software developers,
and they are willing to take them on
and teach them if they are hungry enough.
Now, of course, if you know blockchain development,
it's always an advantage.
And here I will definitely promote BlockchainXpert,
our blockchain development product on AlgoXpert.
Go check it out.
It'll be the best way to go from zero to hero
as a blockchain developer.
BlockchainXpert.io,
used to promote with Cloud and CLEM for a discounted platform.
The point is,
even if you don't want to go through BlockchainXpert,
and even if you don't know much about blockchain development,
you can still land a job
at one of these blockchain companies
and learn through them.
Furthermore, there's demand
for more than just blockchain development skills.
There's also demand for front-end skills,
because the whole UI, UX problem
is incredibly important in crypto
to onboard millions of new users
and to really go mainstream.
There's also demand for infrastructure engineers,
mobile engineers.
There's a demand for virtually any role,
product managers, technical program managers,
marketers, business strategists, you name it.
If you're not even a developer, who cares?
You have tons of roles waiting for you.
And here, I'll end this video
by sharing two companies
that are hiring aggressively right now
that happen to be remote first,
which is fantastic for most people,
Coinbase and Chainlink Labs.
You've probably heard about them already.
If you haven't, Google them.
You can learn everything you need to know about them.
Check out their career pages.
They've got tons of open jobs.
I'm not affiliated with them.
I'm just recommending them
because I think it's a great opportunity.
And otherwise, there are hundreds
of other blockchain companies.
And I'm telling you, this is a sleeper industry.
This is a sleeper moment for us software engineers
where you have a lot of companies hiring.
You don't have much demand
from the software engineering side,
meaning from applicants.
So you're not gonna have as much competition.
You will have a much easier time
landing an interview
and passing an interview at these companies.
And you will be part
of an incredibly fast-growing industry
that is about to go really, really, really mainstream.
