HOW TO WALL RIDE WITH INLINE AND ROLLER SKATES // TUTORIAL

How to Roller Skate

Olá YouTube, my name is Ricardo Lino and I'm a wheel addict.
Do you know how Spider-Man got famous?
Well, Spider-Man got famous for throwing and for walking on walls.
So now imagine that you can also skate on walls.
That's what I'm going to teach you today.
I'm going to teach you how to do wall rides with inline skates
or if you want you can also do them with roller skates.
It also works, it's basically the same technique.
The main thing that you need to know is no matter what surface you're rolling
you always need to go perpendicular which means 90 degrees
to the surface that you're rolling.
That's your way to get the perfect balance.
Basically, if you're going to go around the looping
you always need to go perpendicular to the surface.
Like when you go here, you need to go like this.
You don't go like that, right?
So that's what you need to know.
That's the basic rule, if there's a rule.
That's the most basic thing that you need to know.
So when you want to wall ride, obviously the easiest place to do wall rides
it's in a skate park.
It's easier to do a wall ride in a skate park than in the street.
And the reason why that happens is because usually on a skate park
you can use the ramp to give you some hair.
It will give you some extra timing and that extra timing will be the time
for you to put yourself on the position that you need to go.
And I'm going to explain it right now and then get back in.
So, starting from the beginning.
Now that you know that you always need to be 90 degrees
to the surface that you're rolling
the most basic wall ride that you already do would be a quarter pipe.
Every time that you're going up and down a quarter pipe
basically you're getting yourself in that wall ride position.
When you go on top, you're like this.
When you go down, you go like this.
No one goes up a quarter pipe like this and comes down like this
because otherwise you fall backwards, right?
So you always need to go again for the last time I'm trying to
perpendicular to the surface that you're rolling.
If this is a quarter pipe, you go up, you come down.
Once you get used to this, the next step that you can do is
imagine if in your skate park there's two different quarter pipes
or two different ramps like from a flat bank to the quarter pipe
or from one quarter pipe to a deeper quarter pipe
you can try just to go from one ramp to the top of the other.
I'm going to show you a few examples of what you can do.
So here at the shred at the skate park where my shop is
what I did was a flat bank with a quarter pipe behind
and then I just jumped from the flat bank,
landed completely perpendicular on the vert part.
It doesn't need to be on the vert part of the quarter pipe.
That's the thing.
You can even land lower just for you to understand
that you need to go sideways.
So I did it also there
and then I did it from one quarter pipe to the other
and then there's also this other place where I tried
which is basically done just for that
which is like a flat bank that go up
and then another flat bank like this.
So basically this one is not even vertical
so it's I would say like 70 degrees.
This one is like 30.
So I just need to go sideways like 40 degrees
which makes it a lot easier for me.
I just wanted to show you a few progressions.
Once you can do these
something which is important for you to know is
when you're going to do a wall ride
you need to land and bend your legs once you land
because then you're going to need to pop out again
and if you land with your legs completely straight
you won't absorb the shock which is going to be painful
and at the same time you can't pop out of the wall ride.
So I did it on the mini ramp here.
The mini ramp is now quite short
so I couldn't really do a wall ride.
That was more a wall stall than a wall ride
but I really wanted to show you the basic
and the basic again you always need to be 90 degrees
to the surface where you're rolling.
Basically you need to go sideways.
See feet, head.
That's what you need to know about a wall ride.
Once you master it on a skate park
then just go out on the streets.
You can do it over steps.
It's actually easier if you do it over a stair gap
than if you do it flat.
Even if flat is usually here easier
but if the more time the more space you have
to put your body sideways
and to come back to the right position the easiest it is
and that's what I wanted to let you know.
Like I told you before
the mini ramp at the skate park where my shop is
it's now smaller and the reason why it's smaller
is because they're building a huge
not that big but for me it's cool
like a really big bowl
so a really big cement bowl right in front of the shop
not even five meters
so check this out.
Yep this bowl is being made like two meters away from the shop
and because the bowl is here check what I picked up.
Yes the skates that I was skating
basically because I'm going to be riding bowl a lot more often
I wanted bigger wheels so I can roll smoother
but it's not just because of the bowl
I was skating with these for a little bit
and I have two 68 millimeters in front
and two 72 millimeters
and the reason why I have these
is because I want my skates to be able to turn a lot easier
so when I'm rolling normally
I just go on the front and the third wheel
because this one is bigger than this
and then this
so this and this will touch the ground
and this one will be in the air
every time I need some more power on my heel
then this one goes down and this one goes up
basically it's just a way for me to turn easier
and it's also an experience
I wanted to try different types of rockering
and that's what I'm doing with this
I'll keep you updated how this goes
until now I've been enjoying it
that's all I can tell you
and that's it
I hope you enjoyed this video
I hope you learned how to wall ride
I hope you're watching this video like this right now
sideways 90 degrees
like I told you before
that's the main thing
and if you did like this video
if you're watching this video like this
make sure you subscribe to the channel
if you're not already
if it's red that means you're not subscribing
the button right here
if it's white that means you're already subscribing
but there's a little bell on the side
if you click on that bell
you'll get notifications every time that I upload a video
which might be cool for you
also if you like this video
don't forget to give me some thumbs up
if you didn't like it
thumbs down
but hey why are you giving me thumbs down
let me know what you don't like about this video
other than that
let's just not forget why we all started skating
because it's fun
cheers guys
see you soon
