Vinicius Jr. has won the hearts of football fans all across the world with his electric pace,
dazzling abilities, and thirst for victory. He even has excellent dribbling skills that have earned him comparisons to Neymar.
Although Vinicius Jr.'s
biography is highly fascinating, not many football fans are familiar with it.
So in this video, we explore the remarkable journey of a young talent who became a worldwide sensation despite all odds.
Vinicius Jose Paicho de Oliveira Jr.
was born on July 12, 2000 in Sogoncuolo, a slum area of Rio de Janeiro,
where mainly low-income families resided. They were a modest household with three siblings, including him.
Sometimes there was not enough bread for dinner. According to Vinicius Jr.'s parents,
his uncle Ulysses occasionally assisted the family due to the difficult living circumstances.
He therefore had first-hand experience with what it was like to lead a difficult existence,
starting in his early years.
This helped shape him into a guy who constantly sought success via hard labor rather than relying just on natural skill.
Vinny was crazy about video games and football while growing up.
He loved playing FIFA and the FC Barcelona squad was his favorite, with Lionel Messi being his go-to player.
He also participated in a lot of street football games and consistently appeared to be the fastest child on the block.
We all know that Brazil is a country where football is practically a religion.
So like many kids in Brazil, Vinicius began playing futsal as a youngster. Vinny played futsal from
2007 to 2010 at the Flamengo School of Sogoncuolo, which is housed at the renowned club Canto del Rio,
located in the heart of Niterói and headquartered in the southern region of Salgancalo,
Vinicius' hometown. There,
he developed amazing dribbling skills that only a select few players had. When he was 9 years old, his parents enrolled him at Flamengo
Academy because they wanted him to play football in school.
He had potential and the Academy saw it, but advised him to return the following year when Vinicius'
junior's age would not be an issue,
but he could not wait any longer.
So he made the decision to forego playing football and opt for futsal instead.
His parents persuaded him that futsal was not the best sport for him because they thought he would have a better future playing football.
Finally, they were successful and Vinny waited for a whole year. Later in August,
2010, he took the Flamengo young football team's trial exam and passed.
Vinicius' journey toward becoming an international sensation began with his enrollment in this Academy,
but his family had to work harder during his early years at Flamengo since they knew it was a crucial time in his life and
needed more money for his upkeep.
Everyone believed that Vinny would have a great future,
so his parents had to make significant financial sacrifices in order to pay for the Academy.
This was a difficult period for them, but Vinny was their priority.
Therefore, they found a way to manage the issue and covered the cost of his education.
While his father continued to look for a better job in Sao Paulo,
his mother was forced to relocate to be with him, even though he was still living with his uncle.
Vinny's mother would ride the bus with her son to practice in the wealthy part of Gavia.
She would patiently wait at the same park for her son to return as he trained with his teammates.
After a while, things became a little easier for the family.
Finally, his dad got a job and helping out financially became normal.
A van was eventually bought, allowing Vinicius to be driven directly to his Academy grounds.
Vinicius declared on his application that he was a left-back when he signed up with Flamengo, although this was untrue.
However, it did not take long for it to become clear that he was an attacker,
rather than a left-back as had previously been suggested.
This was made clear when he single-handedly led the front line of his team to his first youth title medal.
Vinicius received not only the player of the tournament honor, but also the golden boot.
With this, everyone at the club, including his manager, became aware of the gem in their hands.
At the age of just 13, he was even selected for the Brazil U-15 team,
and his six goals and five assists in six games pushed Brazil to the championship.
And at only 16 years old, he had won two continental championships.
With all this, Flamengo realized that delaying Vinny's professional debut would serve no purpose other than to keep him safe.
So in 2017, exactly 10 years after his father brought him to the Flamengo Academy in Sao Goncalo,
Vinny made his professional debut for the Flamengo side.
When he made his debut, ESPN FC's Tim Vickery made a joke about it, saying,
Vinicius, on his debut, still looked a little bit like a ball boy who had run onto the field when no one was looking.
Tim Vickery was startled to witness the young Brazilian hammering goals in,
celebrating in a unique way for his Flamengo team.
Vinny quickly established himself as the most well-liked player,
and Flamengo made the announcement that his contract had been extended just two days after his professional debut.
His release clause increased as a result, going from 30 million euros to 45 million euros,
because the team expected to be harassed by European teams.
Vinicius received an invitation to represent Brazil at the South American U-17 Championship in March of the same year.
He made a reputation for himself in South America by helping Brazil win the competition for a record 12th time with 7 goals.
The best player award even went to Vinny.
Additionally, he was able to perform 3 Chapos quickly one after the other during a match between Brazil and Paraguay.
Chapo became really popular after the game.
For those who don't know, Chapo is a humiliating tactic in which a player flips the ball over an opponent's head.
Robin Ho was the first performer he had ever seen do this move,
and it fascinated him with how expertly he could execute it.
Vinicius quickly piqued the interest of prominent European clubs as he continued to perform admirably on the field,
and at long last, he was revealed to have signed a 6-year contract with Real Madrid in May 2018
for a reported 45 million euros transfer fee, making him the most expensive player ever signed by a Brazilian club.
The size of the transfer fee shocked people, especially because Vinny had not even participated in senior-level competition,
but the forward's career seemed to be moving very quickly.
Vinicius Jr. joined the team in July of that year and officially started playing for Madrid in September in a La Liga match against Athletic Bilbao.
He became the first player to play for Los Blancos, who was born in 2000 or later.
When he made his Real debut, he went on to score his first goal for the team in a Copa del Rey match against Melilla in October 2018.
Vinny Jr. was one of the few lone bright spots in a catastrophic season during his first with Real Madrid,
breaking through under Santiago Solari but suffering an injury against Ajax in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 that terminated his season.
But since that time, Vinny Jr. has made a name for himself as one of football's most promising young players.
His technical talents are superb and he has a good eye for goal as well as exceptional dribbling abilities.
The Brazilian attacker, who is still young, exudes confidence in a sport that he has wanted to play in since he was a young child.
He has also broken numerous records while doing so, including one at the Santiago Bernabeu.
During Real Madrid's match against FC Barcelona, he scored the first goal in this game as Los Merengue defeated their fierce rivals 2-0.
In doing so, he became the youngest foreign player to score in El Clásico history at 19 years and 230 days,
breaking Lionel Messi's previous record of 19 years and 259 days.
The Brazilian wonderkid has now evolved into the face of Los Blancos.
In recent years, Vinicius Jr., who made 28 La Liga games and scored 3 goals and provided 4 assists,
was essential to Real Madrid's title-winning effort in the 2020-21 season.
In the Champions League, he also scored twice, including a crucial goal in the second leg of the quarterfinal match against Liverpool.
He also took Brazil to the quarterfinals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup but ultimately lost on penalties to Croatia.
Vinicius Jr., who is only 22 years old, has already accomplished a great deal in his career and has established himself as one of the top players in the world.
Even though he still has a lot of career goals to accomplish, including winning the Ballon d'Or, Vinicius appears to be a complete player, quick and talented.
He spent his boyhood dribbling past defenders in the famous Brazilian tradition.
His vision, which has allowed him to create innumerable chances for his colleagues, is another outstanding quality.
Vinicius still faces extremely high expectations, though. In fact, he has some attention to it.
He insists,
Vinicius comes in just second to Sancho at Real Madrid.
The young Brazilian earns £186,000 a week as a winger for Real Madrid and is under contract with the club until the summer of 2024.
His net worth is believed to be approximately $20 million and according to the transfer market, his current market value is in the area of €120 million.
It is only logical to expect to see this figure increase significantly in the future.
According to insiders, he even receives his footwear from Nike and his contract with the major sportswear company reportedly pays him an additional €7.32 million annually.
Vinicius has had a long-standing affiliation with the company since he was hired by Nike at the age of just 13.
They remained loyal to him throughout his transformation from a young prodigy into a dominant force at one of Europe's biggest clubs.
The agreement with Nike was, however, formally dissolved in February of this year.
Outside the football field, Vinny also promotes Gaga Milano, a renowned watch company from Milan.
Vinny is a player who, with his talent and conceivable feats and superstar status, was unquestionably born to score goals and raise the roofs of stadiums throughout the world.
We cannot wait to watch how the next chapter plays out and what the future holds for this extraordinary talent.
There you have it everyone, Vinicius Jr.'s extraordinary life story and legendary football career.
