Is Jennifer Lopez buying a new mansion next to her ex, Diddy?
Following her split from Ben Affleck, rumors are going around that JLo is in talks to buy
a luxurious home in the exclusive Osrea estate in Holmby Hills, LA, right next door to her
former boyfriend, Sean Diddy Combs, who's getting airtime for some other not-so-great things
at the moment, like his arrest.
Anyways, the mansion JLo's reportedly eyeing was originally listed for $85 million,
and has quite the history. It boasts 60 rooms, a guest house, a catering kitchen, theater,
infinity pool, and much more, all on 2.8 acres of land. Despite being in the middle of selling
the $68 million mansion she once shared with Ben Affleck, Jen seems ready to move forward
with a new purchase of her own.
As rumors continue about the end of their two-year marriage, Jennifer Lopez and Ben
Affleck wasted no time listing their massive Beverly Hills mansion for sale while searching
for new homes in LA. Ben quickly settled into a $20 million equestrian estate in Brentwood,
but Jen, well, she was seen checking out several high-end properties around town.
Now, it seems she might have found the perfect place,
a historic estate on Sunset Boulevard in the exclusive Comby Hills neighborhood.
The home also appears to be next door to the property her ex,
who's currently in jail awaiting trial, Sean Diddy Combs, is selling for $61 million.
JLo and Diddy were a high-profile couple from 1999 to 2001. In terms of their marital mansion,
Ben and JLo could face a potential $25 million loss on the sale. Either way, it seems Lopez
isn't letting that stop her from pursuing her dream property.
It's reported she's already in negotiations for the grand Osrea estate. So, let's take a look.
According to recent reports, Jennifer Lopez is close to closing a deal on the iconic Osrea
estate, designed by Paul R. Williams, purchased by the Osreas in 2005 and extensively renovated.
The estate has been on and off the market for years, first listed at $85 million,
and fluctuating between $88 million and its most recent price of $55 million.
The property was also available for rent at $400k per month and has been used as a filming location,
including for JLo's recent movie, Alice. In fact, she even toured the property earlier
this year while house hunting with Affleck before their separation.
The epic estate is located just 5 miles from her former home with Affleck and borders her
ex-boyfriend Diddy's property. The 1930s-era mansion was once owned by fashion designer
Max Osrea and his widow Lubov, boasting a storied history and a long list of luxury amenities.
Earlier this year, the estate went to auction, where billionaire investor Ron Burkle,
known for snagging famous properties like Michael Jackson's Neverland,
placed the winning $30 million bid. However, a legal dispute between Burkle and Osrea's widow
has given JLo an opportunity to step in and negotiate a deal. She's looking at somewhere
between $30 million and $39 million. If JLo successfully purchases the estate at her target
price, it would be an amazing deal. Originally built in the late 1930s for radio star Charles
Carell, the sprawling compound boasts 14 bedrooms and 25 baths across 30,000 square
feet of luxury living space. The property includes a separate 5,500-square-foot building
with movie theater, games room with wet bar, and office with panoramic views. I mean,
that alone is bigger than most people's homes. Other features include a fully-equipped gym,
a wine cellar, and a pool house-turned-wellness center with sauna, steam shower, and massage area.
The estate was previously owned by producer-writer Sidney Sheldon before the Osreas purchased it
for $14.4 million in 2005. When it comes to the home's decor, it features a mix of quiet luxury
with neutral tones and elegant wood finishing. Walking inside the mansion, there's a stunning
double-height entry foyer with a skylight and sweeping staircase next to a living room with
parquet floors and a music nook. Also on the main level, you'll find a formal dining room with silver
leaf ceiling and a gourmet kitchen with two islands. The master suite is impressive as you'd
expect with a fireplace, private balcony, expansive closet, and opulent bathroom. Outside, the mega
mansion is set on nearly 3 acres of land in the exclusive Holmby Hills neighborhood. The grounds
include an infinity-edge pool, a tennis court with a viewing box, a koi pond, and a tea room.
There's also a greenhouse, sun deck, and fire pit lounge. All of this is surrounded by Mediterranean
and Japanese gardens and the kind of privacy and luxury that would suit any A-list celebrity.
J.Lo, who recently sold her Manhattan penthouse for $23 million,
still owns a $10 million Hamptons estate in her real estate portfolio. J.Lo and Ben have also
been trying to sell their $60 million marital mansion in Beverly Hills, but they may eat a loss
of up to $25 million on that. Back in spring 2023, the pair finally found their dream home
after a lengthy two-year search, which spanned nearly 40,000 square feet on a secure,
5-acre lot with mountain views. While J.Lo's team has yet to confirm these claims about her
new home purchase, fans are watching closely to see if she'll make the move, and whether
she'll end up living right next to her famous ex Diddy. For today, that'll wrap up this video.
