HIGHLIGHTS | Madrid CFF vs. FC Barcelona (Liga F 2024-25 Matchday 5)

Caroline Graham Hansen, maybe Vicky Lopez as well, taking off at some point today to get them wrapped up and safe ahead of the game away in Manchester. Good opportunity today for Kika Nazareth to show what she can do as Madrid come forward and the cutback has gone in and it's allowed to stand. Allegra Pogliac stuns Barcelona, had that ball cross the line before the cutback. In total 30 goals and 27 assists in 38 games, that's just obscene. Here's Vicky Lopez, no harm, Madrid's relatively untested so far, Barca certainly not scything through them. Kika Nazareth looking for her first goal for Barcelona although this is angled more for a cross and she leaves it for Graham Hansen who hopes to seek the top corner. Not a million miles away. Local derby against Real Madrid coming up later this month for Madrid and there are claims for a penalty and I think certainly audible ones from Barcelona's bench. There are a fair number of Barca fans in the crowd as well. Lopez up to Torrejón, that was a good cross oh and it was taken out of his grasp by Comete but I think that is the last touch. There won't be time for the resulting corner and a sigh of relief breathed and Madrid will head in one nil up. That's for Graham Hansen, oh that's nice, it's begging to be sent into the corner and third time lucky it is and it's Kira Walsh who brings Barcelona on a level. They've wasted no time in this second half, it looked like it would be Eva Pajor repelled for a second time as well. Patrick Guijarro, Walsh, oh it's a lovely reverse, Pajor springs the trap and keeps her composure and suddenly everything is all right in Barcelona's world again. She's hit the ground running six for the season now since arriving from Wolfsburg. You come to Walsh again, Yana Fernandez, Walsh does try again, it's unlike her. Interesting to see if her performance today can take her into the team on Wednesday against her former club Lopez. How often can Madrid even work their way into Barcelona's half in the second 45? Vicky Lopez and it's three and the youngster gets underway for the season at the home of the club where she was raised. The European and Spanish champions have held him at arm's length with one finger. Comes to Pateas, no angle on the spin but at the second attempt it is complete child's play for Barcelona. Alexia Pateas off the bench in on the act. This game is well beyond them now, they had a moment, it's a moment that Allegra Pogliac will never forget. Right back today but she did spend some time in an attacking position for Tenerife previously. Walsh takes aim again, a rare double for Kira Walsh. Another from distance and it's another game in which Barcelona have scored five goals. And into the net it goes, a playground goal for Barcelona and round the honeypot there's a little sting for a sick. Pateas in behind, yes they have the seventh. Battle gets her name on the score sheet, it looked like it might have been Eva Pajor first of all. Second half stroll for Barcelona, it'll be more severe for them on Wednesday night against Man City in their Champions League opener. Is there another? Yes, eight for Barcelona, all of them in the second half. What did they really have to worry about? Niana Fernandez with her first of the season, what could be the last kick of the game if Barca get rid of this? Oh it had such promise for Madrid's at half time. One nil up and by the time the full-time whistle arrived, eight one down.
