Welcome to the Weekly Windon, a recap of the biggest news, reviews, features and advice
from MCN. Head to MotorcycleNews.com for full details of the stories mentioned and remember
to like and subscribe so you don't miss future instalments.
This week we received the sad news that multiple speed record holder, daredevil racer and bike
builder Zef Eisenberg was tragically killed in an accident at Elvington. Zef was well
known in the bike world for his speed attempts on tarmac, sand and even ice. He also built
the famous Mad Max turbine bike, powered by a jet engine. Our thoughts go out to his friends
and family at this difficult time. KTM have upped the ante in displacement for their middleweight
off-road adventure models in the shape of the new 890 Adventure R. There will also be
a special rally version which will be a limited run of 700 bikes. There's no word yet on price
or availability but we'd expect them to arrive soon. Keep an eye out on MotorcycleNews.com
for full reviews when they do. Sticking with new bikes, Ducati have announced they've started
to produce the new Multistrada V4, complete with front and rear radar. It's used to control
adaptive cruise control, brought from the car world and also has a blind spot warning
system. We'll be getting full details about this bike and its engine from Ducati in the
coming weeks. A man riding a stolen motorcycle through the streets of Coventry recklessly
and with no helmet has been jailed at Leamington Justice Centre. Not only did James Rowley
endanger himself and others with his riding, but he also punched a witness who later died
in hospital from his injuries. See the full story on our page. And finally, we've taken
an in-depth look at 100 years of development that went into the new BMW R18's 1800cc boxer
engine. The flat twin layout has been a staple on BMWs since the beginning. It's also easy
to see where the new cruiser gets its styling cues from when you see it sat next to the
Bavarian brand's historic models. Thanks for watching the weekly wind-on, and remember
to watch out for the next instalments. Hit like and subscribe to make sure you don't
miss it.
