#MeganFox Speaks On Being Insecure, Losing Confidence In Her Looks & More At The Daily Front Row Fashion Awards With Maeve Reilly In Beverly Hills
Please welcome Megan Fox.
I'm sewn into this, so I'm just trying to be careful not to burst it.
I, for some reason, thought this was going to be like a PTA meeting with like 10 people,
so I didn't write anything.
Bear with me.
I considered reading an excerpt from a poem from one of my favorite poets,
and then I was like, God, that's going to be a lot like that time Sharon Stone
read all the lyrics to Imagine, and everyone's going to hate that.
Some of you are too young to remember that.
But it's basically a gardening analogy, and to paraphrase,
it talks about the risk of remaining a tight bud became more painful
than the idea of having to blossom.
And Maeve came to me at a point in my life where I had spent a long time in a winter
where I had been in a tight bud.
And I was at a place where either it was time to blossom or it was time to die, really.
And a lot of that warmth and me opening up had a lot to do with that very tall,
handsome, demonic creature right there who brought Maeve into my life.
And Maeve has sort of brought me out of my shell.
Not sort of.
She brought me out of my shell a lot because at the point where I met her,
I kind of just always wanted to be in, like, what were those overalls we all used to wear
when we were little kids?
Like Oshkosh Bigosh.
Remember those?
I wanted to be in that with a hat and like for no one to look at me
because I had spent so much time focusing on my mental and my emotional,
which is healthy, that I had lost confidence in my physical.
And that is also something that's really important, especially for what I do for a living.
And she took me in a matter of months from being very insecure
and being on a very difficult body journey to finding my way to being this girl
who was like, yeah, but am I naked enough?
Like show my vagina but make it fashion, right?
And while probably neither of those things are healthy,
both of those people who live inside of me sort of need a guide or like a mentor
and that's who Maeve has been to me on this journey.
And she's helped me to, she's met me where I am but also encouraged me to push beyond
what I thought I could do and what was possible.
So for me it's been a much deeper process than just wearing clothes or just being fashionable.
It has a lot to do with my self-confidence and the way I project myself out into the world,
which she's helped to shape.
So much gratitude to you, Maeve.
Please come up and shut me up, you hot bitch.
Come get this award.
