Legendary Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic Battle! | Cincinnati 2023 Extended Highlights

Incredibly today playing his 57th, that's right 57 Masters Finals. Now the young Spaniard looking to continue his 100% record in Masters Finals. To this tournament for the first time today given it's Alcaraz versus Djokovic there'll be a lot of a lot of eyes on this match. Injection of pace from the Spaniard just so good from Djokovic. The depth is a joke at times. Makes his move. Breaks to love. At that time what a response. Outrageous from Carlitos. Short the match so far. Djokovic has gone where he wants him. He's missed it. Wow. It was looking like Djokovic was going to run away with this first set. Best point Djokovic has played so far. Incredible feel here because you know Alcaraz is as quick as anyone in the game so if it's not perfect he's getting there. He's played at night this week. Hasn't played in this kind of condition so it's maybe just shaking him here. Goodness me he wasn't far away and he's at least to play. It is remarkable watching Carlos Alcaraz. This time he does. What a terrific job he's done. Brilliant way to seal it and a brilliant effort from the world number one having been down a break but undoubtedly Djokovic struggling physically today and that's played a part. First set goes the way of Alcaraz. 7-5. Unsurprisingly Alcaraz breaks. It was a gift really. Had to do very little. What a shame. The worst Djokovic can make a miraculous physical recovery here. It's just not the the match that we were hoping for. Not the match that it had the potential to beat. That image there tells the story. Alcaraz is down. Still had to focus. It's better. Steps it up. A serve volley to shorten that point at least. Exquisite control off his toes. Turning on the style now. It's the last thing Djokovic wants to see. Djokovic used these chances. Well that's incredible. A poor game from Alcaraz you have to say but it did not look possible for Djokovic to find a way back into this set and here he is. It's well done. Good short volley from the Spaniards. Popped over. Alcaraz survives. Oh this is much better. When he had this match in the palm of his hand you know 7-4-2 did he just allow himself to get a little bit complacent. So he does get himself into a shootout. Oh got the lob. Robic did a good job. Oh brilliant. Had to stay alert after the volley came back. Unusual return. Goes straight with the lob. Saved in style. Rock solid from Djokovic. Incredible volleying from Djokovic this time. Stands his ground and earns himself a set point now. Alcaraz. Set point saved. Djokovic draws the error. Djokovic levels the match. I don't know how he's done it but he's done it. 4-2 down and running on fumes. Well struck. Beautifully timed. Oh that's well done. Goodness me. Well here we go. Carlitos is up in the ante again. Oh sensational. Djokovic played a pretty good point and yet could do nothing about the quality of the backhand pass. I mean fascinating viewing. There's Djokovic edging in attacking the second serve. Five he's saved in this deciding set now. He fancied it. He pulled the trigger and he has the advantage now in this deciding set. It's just magnificent. He's almost there. Alcaraz had match point. There's Djokovic. First one saved. Oh it's good. What a way to save another. This most remarkable contest continues. Great shot. Not half. You've got to be kidding me. I mean look at the shots he's coming out with here trying to save a match point. And he does survive. We're still going. He survives again. Went mighty close to the Spaniard's baseline. He's missed it. Amazing athleticism from Alcaraz. Oh that is absolutely brilliant. Djokovic at his best and what a time to produce it. No wonder it is a pass of pure perfection. Well this is getting silly now. Well he's just morphed into Andre Agassi. He's missed it and he has broken. Enough. Doesn't faze him being break point down in any way does it? Oh what a serve. What a game. What a hold. What a set. Oh that's just crazy. Crazy stuff. Rock solid from Novak Djokovic. Just machine like from Djokovic. Just exceptional. Again quality of the final volley. Is the champion in Cincinnati once more. A 39th Masters title. Surely one of the most remarkable of those finals. That is a match we will remember for a very long time. Seals it on his fifth championship point after three hours and 49 minutes on court. Remember he was a set and 4-2 down. Running on fumes. He saved a match point along the way. Somehow he's found a way. One of the great Masters finals. Good evening everyone. It's gonna be tough for me. It's gonna be tough for me to talk right now but I'll try. I'll try to to do my best. First of all I want to congratulate Novak once again. It's amazing playing against you. Sharing the court with you. Learning from you. So so close. So this this match was really close but I learned a lot from a champion like you. So congratulations to you and your team. And then I have my brother here as well. It's great to have you here supporting me every every day. To make me be a better person every day. Learning from you as well. So thank you. Thank you very much for for being with me this. Boy you never give up man. Jesus Christ. I mean I mean I love that about you but you know sometimes I wish that you maybe play a few points just like this you know. Spanish never die. Okay good. I've heard that before you know.
