Sat Nam! My name is Mahanraj Kaur from The Great Divine Flow and I am so excited to share
with you my favorite meditation. It's called Kirtan Kriya. Kirtan means sound current.
Kriya means using a physical attribute in yoga to make a certain thing happen. So in
this Kriya, the certain thing we want to happen is our mind to get clearer, our mind to calm
down, to release from stress and have more clarity. So here's how you do it. There is
a system in this Kriya. It looks like it's very small, but there's a lot going on. The
first thing is the chant. It's going to be like this. SA TA NA MA. The biggest part of
that is the AH. God. Mama. The AH loosens the jaw and brings peace in itself and it
creates a current of calmness. The consonants that we use, SA, S, TA, T, NA, N, M, MA, SA,
TA, NA, MA. So now we are using the meridians in our mouth and stimulating these energy
currents that are going to promote oxytocin, serotonin, the love and peace hormone and
the hormone for energy. These, as well as the finger movements, are going to stimulate
the hypothymus and this is a huge healing for your brain. All I want to say about this
is it helps children all the way to 90s. I have seen some of my clients that couldn't
even put their fingers together. They had deteriorated that much and I was helping them
improve so much. But before we get to that, just the stress of life can wear out our mind.
This relaxes, empowers and clears the mind and in these busy times, I think everybody
can benefit from that. The finger movement is index finger to thumb, middle finger to
thumb, ring finger to thumb and the pinky to thumb. You are just going to relax your
hands down on your knees and move it to the chest. So SA, TA, NA, MA. There is one more
thing if you can keep this in your little mind. As you are saying these words, SA, TA,
NA, MA, we want to imagine that we are pulling this current of light through the head and
out the forehead. It is an added little thing for your mind, which is great because the
mind is going to need to do a lot of things in the middle of this relaxing, healing modality.
But it also helps you put more attention on the pineal and the pituitary, which are going
to be a big part of your healing in this meditation. The last thing is, what does SATANAMA
mean? SA means birth, TA means life, NA means death and MA means rebirth. It is known as
the cycle of transformation. When anybody in kundalini yoga, that is what this practice
comes from, wants to change something, wants something to be different in their life, they
chant SATANAMA. They put that into the cycle of change. I feel like there was one more
thing I wanted to tell you. Oh, there is three ways we are going to chant. First we are going
to use our regular voice, SA, TA, NA, MA. Then I am going to say, whisper, SA, TA, NA,
and then we won't use our voice, we will want to now chant with our minds and you will hear
a tone in the meditation that will keep you on track. Letting you have the same pace,
it is so good for the mind. We do it with our voice, whisper, silent, whisper, voice.
The voice speaks to the activity and the humanity of our life. The whisper speaks to the beloved
in our hearts. The mind, when we are silent, connects us to the infinite potential on this
day. Okay, sit up tall and let's begin. Close your eyes, gaze into the third eye, the middle
of your forehead and enjoy.
SA, TA, NA, MA
Satanam
Sada Nama, Sada Nama, Sada Nama, Sada Nama,
Sada Nama, Sada Nama, Sada Nama, Sada Nama, Sada Nama, Sada Nama, Sada Nama,
sadhana
ah
sadhana

Satanama, Satanama, Satanama, Satanama,
Satanama, Satanama, Satanama, Satanama, Satanama,
Satanama, Satanama, Satanama, Satanama, Satanama, Satanama, Satanama, Satanama, Satanama, Satanama, Satanama.
Inhale deep, suspend the breath, exhale and we always end our
practice with one long Sat Naam. Inhale deeply and sigh. On the next inhale, we're
going to chant one long Sat Naam. That's how we end our practices in Kundalini
Yoga. So inhale with me, Sat Naam. Remember, a peaceful brain is a happy
brain. May you find lots of peace, clarity, and happiness with this practice, Sat Naam.
