Chloe, are you talking to yourself?
I'm just annoyed that I spent all this money
and there's all these f***ing scuffs on the floor.
Chloe is the most organized, cleanest,
most obsessive person I know in her own home.
But lately, she's on another level.
See this scuff? Why do you ...
Literally nobody walks here.
It's right in front of the refrigerator.
Of course they walk here.
I mean, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.
When we were raising the kids,
I was always cleaning and organizing
and reorganizing and moving things around.
So I kind of feel responsible.
But the one thing that I've learned through the years
is that this desire to have everything perfect
can really drive you crazy.
You can't live on your hands and knees, honey.
It's not going to get any better.
Yes, it is. I've already gotten a couple of them out.
I just don't understand.
A couple of them? This is 12,000 square feet of floor.
And there's a little white thing.
Like, what are people wearing in here?
Maybe it's the baby. Maybe she's, you know, rolling.
Don't bring True into this.
True lives here, too. And she's just a little squirt,
but she still has her toys.
You don't think I've tested all of these?
Tested? You test her toys on your floor?
Chloe, you're going to see a therapist.
If you have kids,
everything isn't going to be perfect all of the time.
Ever since she finished doing renovations on her house,
I've been more worried about Chloe's obsessive cleaning.
Do you want a water or anything?
I have a water. Okay. Thank you so much.
Yeah. Shiva is this exposure therapist
that my mom is having me meet with.
I'm willing to talk to this therapist
because I'm polite, but I just don't think I have a problem.
My name is Shiva Rajai. I'm the founder
and director of the Center for Anxiety and OCD.
I have OCD myself. Okay.
And so it became kind of like my lifelong passion
and sort of like my career just to specialize in it
and to treat people who suffer from anxiety of any kind.
When I even say anxiety, Chloe, what does that mean to you?
What does that feel like to you? Maybe we start there.
Well, to me, I think my OCD is more like a pro rather than a con.
I feel like once everything's organized, I feel really good.
I know where every single thing is.
It's very self-soothing, it sounds like, to have your home
be like you said, your sanctuary and a place of order and control.
In reality, even our sanctuary sometimes, right,
we can't perfectly control it.
I guess I wonder if you'd like to maybe work on that a bit.
How so?
That's a good question.
So the idea...
You have a very soothing voice, but you're not going to trick me.
How so?
You want the facts. I would expect that. You want the facts.
I would like to mess something up.
So I'd want to make you a little uncomfortable
without like totally rocking your world
because it's kind of what life throws at us anyway.
You feel down to try something?
Let's f*** stuff up.
All right.
If somebody says, I'm crazy, I'm meticulous, I'm clean, neurotic,
thank you.
I just don't know why this really matters.
Hi, Mom.
Hi.
How's it going?
I mean, they have TV shows called Hoarders.
They don't have TV shows called Cleaners.
Like they have shows Hoarders.
They want you to stop hoarding.
And now someone's going to tell me to stop being clean and organized.
That makes no sense.
So the fruit exposure,
I'm going to ask you to take that artichoke right there
and just put it in the middle of that grapefruit pile.
And then you'll move a grapefruit over into the artichoke pile.
I would like to put it back, but it's fine.
It's OK the way it is.
I'm going to put it back, but it's fine.
What I want you to do is basically we're going to sit with the mismatched fruit
and we're going to let you see that actually while we're talking,
you might not notice it so much.
So do you mind if we actually open that refrigerator?
I've heard about this refrigerator.
Oh, boy.
Well, they're done in a color system.
It's red, orange, yellow, green, blue.
And then it's, you know, it's supposed to be like a rainbow.
It's a beautiful rainbow.
Can we mess the rainbow up just a little bit?
You can mess any two colors you want.
Yeah. Because they're similar-ish.
Yeah. Yeah. Let's do those.
And you just make sure you're breathing.
OK, how does that feel?
It makes me excited for you to leave.
