This is a hundred layers of pennies.
And behind it are a hundred of the cheapest layers ever created.
And this is a hundred layers of cash.
And behind this layer are the most expensive layers we've ever built.
You asked if our most expensive layers are more difficult to break than our cheap layers.
So, we're putting it all to the test today.
I've got $500 worth of clay that weighs 500 pounds.
This is just free dirt from outside.
Alright, we're gonna test this fairly with the exact same clay jars.
We'll let cheap go first.
Not a scratch.
Nope.
A quarter of an inch impact.
Cool, man.
Now that's progress.
For each layer, Chase and I will have to start with the cheapest weapons and work our way down to the most expensive weapon.
What tool next?
Spatula.
Spatula?
Alright.
Why do you have a golden spatula?
I paid for the DLC.
Ooh, look at this.
You can scrape it off slowly for me.
I'm not gonna lie, I have this beautiful...
That's so satisfying.
...spatula motion going on.
What happened to your spatula?
For the sake of the audience, can you please use the giant AirPod?
Yes.
Please.
Alright.
That's copyright.
Silence it.
Who's putting pre-loaded elevator music on a giant AirPod?
Oh my gosh.
Wait, what is that?
Yo, Chase, have you seen this?
I'll let you use one of them.
What the heck?
It's like a clay pigeon launcher.
And...
Gravity.
Okay, one at a time.
I can't even go too soon or too late.
Come on, Pete.
Yay!
Alright, you're up.
Alright, let me show you how it's done.
There you go.
Ready?
Hit it.
Did I do it right?
I mean, I think it's time.
We just gotta upgrade at this point.
Like, it's literally just time to upgrade.
Diamond shovel.
Attack!
Wait.
Wait, it's actually working.
Is Minecraft real?
Oh, I'm seeing big progress.
I feel like I'm about to make giant scoops of gelato.
What's inside of this?
Oh, it's rocks.
Let's rock, baby.
Oh my.
Oh, he's getting chunks off.
What?
Preston, look at this nice hole I've made.
Oh, you actually got through.
Oh yeah, I did.
I feel like the first layer of dirt was hard and then afterwards it was easy.
I'm gonna knock this whole thing down.
Oh, Chase.
I got a lot more dirt to go through.
We gave him the dirt because he's literally a dog.
That was a rough joke, dude.
Bark for me.
I'm gonna dig this whole thing down.
Watch this.
Preston, landslide.
I'm not gonna lie, it's actually kind of tough.
Dirt bin.
I might be able to fit now.
I don't know.
Hey, it's clay.
You're supposed to mold it.
There we go.
All right, Preston.
I'll see you on the other side.
All right, cheap player.
Oh no.
In first, baby.
Of course, dirt would be easier to break through when compared to clay.
But what about our next layer?
I've got $1,000 worth of aluminum plates.
This is $100 tree stump we found outside.
Oh wait, this is actually such a good example of what this basically is.
Chase, I don't know where this is gonna go, by the way.
Shake it up.
There it is.
That's it.
This is gonna be bad.
All right, 3, 2, 1.
What?
Wait, that was actually good.
Yo, how did you play baseball?
I have an idea, but first, I needed to get something done.
I got the squirrel.
Yep.
Get out of my way, squirrel.
All right.
Merry Christmas.
Okay, dude.
All right.
All right, thank you.
Don't worry, we can fix it with the anvil.
All right, hit for hit with the hammer?
Oh yeah, I'll go hit for hit for you.
Ladies first.
All right.
Oh my gosh, wait, that cut.
Wait, Chase, look.
I like cut through one of the plates.
How is the wood stronger than the steel?
The aluminum.
How is this easier than the clay?
What, you're making progress?
Not as much as that.
Oh my gosh.
All right.
That's not bad.
I have never blown a horn.
That's so satisfying.
Saddest reverie you'll ever hear.
All right, and now it turns into a weapon.
I gotta get this squirrel out of my way.
And then I can make true progress on the wood.
Oh.
I'm actually opening this up.
This is wicked.
I'm cutting this squirrel up.
All right, now this is just cool.
Why are you cutting off the knobbler?
It's already off.
Not yet.
There we go.
Now it's off.
Give me this guy.
What's that on me?
I think it was brick.
Is it a subscribe button or something?
I don't know.
It's just a brick.
Oh.
I'm going to see if I can get the tip side end, though.
Hey, right back to you.
I do love a boomerang.
Oh, wait.
How many plates did we just go through?
We went through one, two, three, four, five plates.
Now, I know I'm on the cheap side, but this is at least tree-fitty.
Oh.
Oh, why is it so perfect?
We're kind of proving right now that expensive is easier to go through.
Yeah, cheap is so far a lot tougher, in my opinion.
Now, what is this?
Oh, wow.
It's making it come loose from the screw.
All right, I know Post is bad at me for asking, but can you make this look like a lumberjack
roll?
Thank you.
All right, you can knock it off.
Let's do it.
All right, we're going to give it a tough swing and see how many layers we can go through.
Guys, who's in the lead?
Me or Preston?
Oh, my gosh.
Preston wants to make a bunch of progress.
Let's meet him halfway.
We're going off the chain.
Yeah.
Oh, no.
This is not cutting.
Preston, watch this.
It's a chainsaw, right?
You think you should cut a tree?
Watch.
Can I use it for the metal?
Yeah.
I do want to see what it does for the aluminum.
That was off the chain.
If this doesn't work, I'm screwed.
Oh, it feels 10 times as powerful.
Yes.
Oh, yeah.
Now it's anvil time.
Where'd that go?
I mean, I sent it.
No.
Chainsaw's too hot right now, so let's go back a little old school.
Back to the ax.
What was that?
What did I say?
What are you?
The more expensive the layer so far, the easier it is.
Hey, thank God for that.
Amen?
Yeah, amen.
Oh, I'm in that.
Meet me on the other side.
Aluminum, you were tough, but not as tough as the clay.
Yep, this tree's about to fall.
No more chainsaw.
Oh, there you go.
Now we can push it.
All right.
Forward.
I actually can't believe wood ended up being stronger than metal.
Now, let's see what happens when it comes to expensive versus cheap sticky layers.
This is 100 layers of duct tape.
It's about $500.
100 bottles of Gorilla Glue.
That's $2,000.
A little box cutter.
How about that?
Let's see what we got.
What the heck?
Are you ready for this?
Let's do it.
It did not like that.
Whoa.
What is this?
Oh, no.
No more knife, too.
What are we moving to?
It's a magic glue ball.
I don't think it's going to do anything, by the way, but we love testing things here.
Come on.
It's going to bounce.
That thing came back with a vengeance.
I ain't never thrown that again in my lair.
Jeez.
Quack.
Now we know we have to stick to sharp things.
Now, what in the...
Now, this looks like literally Jerry Riggs.
I mean, this one does have a serrated edge.
Maybe we can kind of like cut it.
This is if you want to play baseball with your friends, but you don't trust them at
the same time.
And cut.
Let's use the poker.
That's kind of cool.
What about this weird side?
What is it?
Is this like the scrape?
Yep, yep.
Put a little separation, break in the joint.
Yeah, I don't really necessarily know what the best tactic is to go through glue.
Usually when we have glue, we just get stuck.
Can I throw this?
I mean, you can just be super careful.
Let's be super careful.
This is how they played baseball in the old days.
You got one more.
One more throw.
That's all one more.
Wait, listen for the scissors, and that's your countdown.
Get it.
Three, two...
That's impossible.
One more time.
Three, two, one.
Three, two...
I don't think that's going to happen.
There's no shot.
I will do a trade.
This was my weapon.
Yeah, it was.
Oh, my.
Use the pokey.
And now what?
I didn't think that far ahead.
Okay, I'm just this...
These scissors would work if I had like 200 years to do this.
That's not going to...
What?
Hey, cross your fingers.
I need this to work right now.
Oh, what?
Is that piece of the chainsaw?
Double-decker, man.
That's...
I expected the whole layer to come down.
Oh, no.
Oh, did it get stuck?
Houston, we have a problem.
Okay, Preston is struggling with all this money he's got.
How?
Classic YouTuber problem.
Spin!
Oh, okay.
Axe versus duct tape.
Oh, oh.
You got glue in my lair.
Yeah, my bad, dawg.
All right, come on now.
Hopefully, we just cut the top part and an axe will come out.
Let's just use a combat knife.
I'm going to John Wick it.
Okay, I'm going to try my hands now.
Go!
Yeah!
No!
I just added to my lair.
There we go.
Someone just...
Oh, I wanted that one.
Can I please have this one, papa?
Yeah.
Thank you.
You're not going to use your bamboo?
You want this here?
You can have this.
I mean, dude, how do pandas eat that stuff?
No wonder they go on extinct.
They probably should be.
Oh!
Oh, we are definitely connected.
This is the tricky part because now it's just stuck.
Can we maybe use the serrated edge?
Oh, yep.
Oh, that's it.
Does this not look like tuna?
Tuna.
Am I, like, literally about to make my own sushi?
This is probably my best strategy.
Cut a hole and then cut the rest of it off with a...
No.
Stop!
Oh, we are cutting.
Can you see me?
There you are.
Hello!
Oh, wait a second.
New spawn.
The oscillator saw.
Look at that.
All right, Preston.
You can talk to the audience now.
Yeah, thanks, buddy.
How did you make your hole so high?
Three words.
I don't know.
Y'all can roast me in the comments for making this so high up.
I don't know how I'm going to call for it.
Yeah.
Preston, tell me something you don't like about me.
Where do I start?
What the...
Do you want the big one back?
I haven't used the big one yet.
Finally.
Back to where you belong.
I gotta go hand-to-hand combat.
Oh, yeah.
That's not doing jack.
Yeah, this is not a good trade, y'all.
This is what I call progress.
I'm for sure on the other side.
Can we just show the footage of the other side of this lair?
And what is that?
Oh, Preston, thank you for this tool.
This is working.
You're welcome.
I'm going in with the sword.
Come on.
Cut that pig fat.
Oh, there you go.
Oh, yeah.
We're trimming the pig.
Thank you for letting me use your sword, by the way.
You used all my weapons today, sir.
I literally did.
Hey, this chaste but generous.
Please.
Give me that fat.
Oh, yes.
That is wild.
That looked like a tongue.
Hold my lair.
Whoa.
Does that not just feel so weird?
What does it sound like?
Let's just get rid of that.
I don't know if we're going to fit, but I hope so.
Oh, no way.
Gotta get my step stool.
I don't care.
Yeah, there you go.
Big old stroke.
Yes.
Progress.
That's all you have?
Yes.
Oh, my God.
Oh, there you go.
Yes.
We are so in, baby.
Sir, please, just clap me in.
Clap me in.
So far, the cheapest lairs have been harder to break.
However, the last lair will be the toughest material I've ever had.
Not to mention the most expensive.
For our last lair, we have a $3,000 marble countertop that weighs 1,000 pounds and...
My bad.
Preston?
Do you know what yours is?
This is $400 worth of tempered glass.
As bad as we want, we want to go big.
Y'all know this will happen, but not right now.
I'll take this one.
You want that one?
I'll take this one.
Hey, batter, batter, batter.
Hey, batter, batter.
Yeah, okay.
They got it on my back.
That did nothing.
Preston, hit it.
Got it.
Back straight.
Wait, do you have one of these?
Or this?
That's a good-looking mirror.
Chase, check this.
No, use it.
Oh, use it.
Either lair took damage from the baseballs.
Now it's time for these little fake diamonds.
Ready?
Yep.
Oh, just a little way.
You did kind of chip it a little bit.
Did I chip it?
Oh, yeah.
It's a little tiny scratch.
Here we go.
It just shattered.
We got a nice little, like a tiny dent.
What else can we throw?
Watch out, Pete.
It's a fake sled.
Can you please use the cheese?
Use the cheese?
This is American cheese if I've ever seen it.
Now, last time we did this, I don't even remember.
I think it was maybe on glass, but this thing exploded.
All right, this is nacho cheese.
What?
Hey, Chase, can I try using it on mine?
Send it.
All right.
That was so lame.
Why isn't this working?
What?
Don't do it, Chase.
Oh, why do this?
See, this is how you get ants.
Actually, this is good.
Put this on my lair, and we'll have 100 layers of ants.
Yeah?
Why did I tell him to do that?
I just love this so much, man.
Oh, that's going to work.
Big moment in here.
Come on.
What the?
Toss it.
All right.
Now, this has got to shatter the tempered glass.
Ready?
Send it.
What?
Are you kidding me?
Wait, listen.
Can you get the ASMR?
Does this not sound like pop rocks?
It's like pop rocks in your mouth.
Did you just ruin the ASMR?
This is the first layer that I'm not having a struggle with.
Hold on, hold on.
Can it now baseball?
No, potato.
What?
Yeah.
Preston, I need help.
Hold this slingshot for me.
I'm not joking, dude.
The potato is going to work.
Come on.
Rust it.
Three, two, one.
Oh, it didn't do anything.
That would have been so cool if it did.
Oh, dang it.
Discus.
I think I just missed this.
That's how you throw the discus.
That's my layer.
Yeah?
What?
Yeah, I'm kind of at a loss for words.
The marble has not had any damage.
Is it pickaxe?
I mean, just give it a swing.
Let's see what we're dealing with.
All right, half pepper.
So that's how you make a fire.
Wow.
Nice.
Dude, wait.
Did you see the smoke coming off?
Dude, that is tough.
Oh, my gosh.
You can smell the smoke.
It's barely scraping it.
Finally, the expensive layer is actually harder.
So this is a throwing dart, but it's not just any dart.
This tip is meant for breaking glass.
Let's see if it works.
What the heck?
Nah, this is actually just unfair.
All right, please.
This is our last hope.
Oh, come on.
Come on.
Finally getting some chips off.
Tiny, tiny chips.
If this breaks, you have to like this video.
Did it break?
Yes!
That means you like this video right now, or I'm going to report you to Preston.
Oh, my gosh.
I mean, it feels like I'm literally cutting into rock.
There's no way the pickaxe won't work.
Lock in, buddy.
Dude.
I feel like we're just getting to the marble core.
Can I help?
I mean, if you want to try to hit it, go ahead.
The marble is so difficult to get through that we're actually having to work together for once.
Toss me the big boy.
Oh, my.
Okay.
We might have met the first layer we're not going to be able to get through.
Bro, like this would be a first on the channel.
Not even a potato can't get through this.
It's so much tougher than that.
It honestly is.
I think we actually have to go to a power tool.
Before we do that, I got to finish off my layer.
Nice.
This is our smallest jackhammer, which we're going to start off with, and hopefully this does something.
You got this.
No, wait, hold on.
It could still work.
Okay, maybe it doesn't do anything.
Yeah, I legit think we have to already go to the big jackhammer.
Let's do it.
Are you ready to get jacked?
Your layer, your tool.
Come on, please.
Each layer has been more difficult than the last, but there's no way I was going to give up now,
especially on our most expensive layer yet.
There's just no way.
This is not real, right?
Is this the hardest 100 layers layer we've had?
No way.
You see what I'm saying?
Jason and I tried everything, so we had to call it for now.
Expensive layers are clearly stronger than cheap layers.
This is the first time ever we've not been able to get through a layer.
What do we do?
I think we're going to have to come back again for the marble with even better power tools,
but in the meantime, please click into one of these videos.
I hate marble.
