This video is brought to you by Squarespace.
I just got back, hello.
Wow, she just threw herself on her side as in pet me now.
I just got back from plant shopping.
It was absolutely amazing.
I've been doing a lot of big box plant shopping videos,
which are really fun,
but today I went to a local nursery or local plant shop.
So if you haven't been to your local plant shops,
I 10 out of 10 recommend,
because a lot of times the prices actually line up
with the big box shops and they have more variety.
The plants are really healthy.
So today Horrocks Nursery had a lot of really cool varieties
and they always have up and coming plants.
So I know what to keep an eye out for.
And so I share the prices of all the different plants
they had, what the different plants are called.
That way you can keep an eye out for them.
Maybe the next time you're plant shopping,
or you can kind of add some of these plants
to your wishlist.
Plus it's always nice just to share the plant shopping
and plants with all of my plant friends.
And if you like these kinds of videos,
make sure to subscribe so that the episodes show up
in your newsfeed on YouTube.
And we also have a terrific community on TikTok.
Yeah, and Instagram.
All right, now, lastly,
a huge thank you to our friends at Squarespace
for sponsoring this video.
Squarespace is the all-in-one website platform
that I used to create my website.
I am not a technical person,
and that's one of the reasons why I love Squarespace
so much.
It took something that felt super overwhelming,
like creating a website,
and made it really easy and simple.
To get started,
I used their guided design system, Squarespace Blueprint,
and I got to choose from professionally curated layouts,
which made creating the page so much easier.
And I didn't have to make a million tiny decisions.
The hard work was already done for me.
The drag and drop technology made each step feel natural
instead of like technical and hard to figure out.
I also appreciate all the additional features they provide
so that it's easy to set up a professional business website,
which makes the daily logistics like invoicing,
payment, and merchandising, seamless and stress-free.
So to get started,
you can go to squarespace.com slash plant life.
I've also included the link in my description below,
and you can get 10% off your first purchase
of a website or domain.
All right, so now for the plant shopping portion
of the video, as always, I will share my haul at the end,
and let me know what you would have picked out today
if you would have been plant shopping with me.
I'm so excited to be here.
I see so many interesting and unusual plants.
I cannot wait to dive in.
There are variegated euphorbias.
They're really, really pretty.
And they're $49, which is a great deal actually.
And then really large booby cactus.
And they're called booby cactus for the obvious,
but let me just see how much they are.
44.99, that's actually a really good deal on these.
They're normally around 70,
which they used to be like 150,
especially for ones that are this big.
These are really beautiful.
Noto cactus magnificus, 39.
And there's a little baby in there.
They have some littles here,
little rattlesnake calathea, 7.99,
and some little alacasia.
Not sure what variety, 6.99, bambino.
Ooh, what kind of syngonium?
Is this a syngonium?
Oh, alacasia macrorhiza camouflage variegated.
Okay, so it's a variegated alacasia, 31.99.
I don't think I've ever seen that kind before.
Camouflage, beautiful.
Calathea white fusion, 14.
Some alacasia black velvet.
And then alacasia jacqueline, I think.
Let me double check.
Alacasia porti, 15.99.
Okay, it does look a little different than jacquie,
that's why I had to,
or jacqueline, that's why I had to double check.
Some dracaena and crocodile fern.
This one's called crocodile because it has
what looks like scale on the leaves, like crocodile skin.
Not sure what kind this is,
but they have variegation on them, let's see.
Ficus aspera, 13.99.
Okay, new variety I've not seen before.
Ficus aspera.

And I'll name off prices as I see them.
Red maranta, 4.99, wow, 4.49 for this huge maranta.
Silver band, very curious how much the silver bands are.
9.99, that's a great deal.
Oh, we have some other beauties here.
Okay, this is the summer glory,
and this one is 14.99.
Summer glory plowmanii gloriosum, interesting.
Okay, philodendron bstea here.
We're starting to find these at the big box shops as well.
These are 16.99, so even cheaper than the big box shops.
That's amazing.
A lot of the local plant shops are just really stepping up.
Oh, yopii, philodendron yopii, 20.99.
This one used to be thousands and thousands of dollars,
so that's really great.
Philodendron tortum, 20.99.

for new houseplants coming on the market.
15.99, epicremnum skeleton key, 15.99.
I've always wanted one of these.
The leaves, as they mature, turn into this key shape,
and it's amazing.
I'm trying to see if I can see one
that maybe has the more mature leaves.
I don't see, but here's some variegated.
Epicremnum albo variegata, 18.99.
Some pothos here, pothos mandula, 20.99.
Imidium silver, 26.

And some cute little polka dot plants.

not long ago, and it is doing great.
Here we have the Alocasia again.
And they have Monstera stanleyana variegated.
And this one's 20.99.
Lipstick, Twister, 10.99.
This is one of the coolest ferns.
It's a heart fern, 4.99.
They're not expensive.
They're just really sensitive to drought.
So you never wanna let these dry out.
But they're so cool.
They have like these little wiry stems
and the beautiful heart-shaped leaves.
I just love it.
This would be great in a self-watering pot.
This is an Aglaonema, 25.99.
Another beautiful Aglaonema.
Quilted Dreams Alocasia, 19.
Now these are all pretty large.
Alocasia cuprea.
The Alocasia cuprea is 16, such a great deal.
Ooh, Alocasia mellow.
Over here, it has such an interesting texture
to the leaves, 18.99.
Some Alocasia friedex, good to see one of these.
Haven't seen one in a long time, 20.99.
Coming into some more Calathea varieties.
This is like the fuzzy Calathea.
It has a really interesting texture to the leaves, 19.
Another Calathea white fusion.
Cordyline mocha latte cordyline.
That's such a cute name, 23.
I love the colors.
I can see why it's called mocha latte.
This is a cool Setenthi and Diphymbachia.

Some Dracaena, absolutely lovely.
Okay, they have some fun fern varieties.

and it's reverted, but it's 15.99.
Some Stromanthes, let's see how much these are.
12.99 for the beautiful Stromanthe.

their leaves start to droop
and then they bounce right back.
Some cool spider plants.
This is like the creamsicle plant
or the mandarin spider plant, 20.99.
Apologize for the background noise.

Oh yeah, these are all $3.99.
Look how fuzzy this one is, I love it.
There's so many beautiful succulents.
String of dolphins, haven't seen these in a while.
You know, these never get old
because they look so much like dolphins.
It's crazy to me.
This is an interesting succulent.
Rose, rose acres.
Oh, here's a leopard lily, beautiful.
This is a fun palm to point out.
It's called a fishtail palm
because the leaves look like a fishtail.
And you don't see them around that often.
So I always like to point them out when I see them.
I just think it's such a cool palm.
All right, so time for the haul portion of the video.
I'm excited to show the plant I got.
It's one I have never seen before.
I wonder if she'll let me get up.
So hard to get up when they're being snuggly.
Okay, all right, baby, here you go.
Got this plant, I'm excited.
So this is the name of the place that I went to, Forex.
And I got one plant that I've literally never seen before.
And it's a type of ficus.
It's a ficus aspera.
And it was only $13.99.
And look at this ficus, it is so cool.
It has variegation on the leaves.
I mean, I just think this is the most interesting ficus.
I love the leaf shape too.
It has like kind of ruffly leaves.
I'm very curious what this is gonna look like
when it's fully grown and the leaves aren't juvenile anymore.
I thought $14 for this plant was an absolute steal.
And the leaves are somewhat thin,
so it's going to need to be watered more regularly.
It's not gonna be as drought tolerant
because the leaves aren't as thick as maybe fiddly fig
or rubber trees to retain water.
So I wanna stay on top of watering it
when it's about halfway to fully dry.
And because it has variegation,
I'm gonna wanna give it a lot of light
to make sure that the variegation holds.
There's usually an adjustment period too
when you first bring plants from the greenhouse
where you may see some crisping.
The older leaves might struggle a little bit,
but as long as the new growth is looking good,
that plant probably just needed some time to adapt.
And then the new growth will be just fine.
If the old leaves are looking rough,
new leaves looking okay, then you're fine.
So I'm thrilled with this.
There were so many cool plants,
ones that I'd never seen before.
And I can't remember the names of them
because they're new to me,
so you'll have to watch the shopping portion of the video.
But there were some really cool
like Philodendron Kathleen maybe was one of them,
or Catherine.
There were some neat ones, some cool alocasias.
But this one really stuck out to me today.
So let me know what you think,
what you would have picked out
if you would have been plant shopping with me today.
And if you're finding any cool plants,
there's some really good ones out there.
And just because we're coming into fall and winter,
they still are continuing to release
some pretty amazing plants.
So I was very excited to find this one.
So leave your comments and subscribe
if you wanna see more videos.

All right, I hope you have a wonderful rest of the day
and that I get to see you soon.
