Kansas City Royals vs Atlanta Braves inning 6-9 Game Highlights -MLB 9/28/2024-MLB Season 2024.

and Darno was not able to check his swing last deep 0-2 on Darno we were talking about him when J.J. Picollo was up here he was the Mets starting catcher in the 15 or 12 for him he started all five games of that World Series against the Royals Lynch gives up a single and a walk and strikes out three in a scoreless buckled him with that curve low to mid 90s with his slider and a curve Mikel struck out and grounded out against Lopez three balls one strike and struck out 119 in a college season in 2012 and in doing so he led the Bears into the NCAA tournament for the first time in nine years he had to endure quite a bit to get to the big leagues this is a story that Mike Ramon Garcia takes outside and that's a lead-off walk one game in the major leagues in 17 then two years in the Giants farm system once in 2028 years after being taken in the first round out of college that's the one you're checking on Garcia over there he could steal bases oh quicker move and a better tag Wolson had to leave his feet and he's looking into the dugout because he believes the brave should challenge Pierce Johnson look at that just first baseman with that glove on your right or your left hand you got to swing it around to get the tag on him and it looks like he got him by plenty royals have been picked off first baseman was Salvador Perez at the plate both times yeah not good last night it was a man you've got great speed at first base and Salvi at the plate look at it did the did the front leg collapse before the man it just a split second before I mean when I say collapse I mean the the front leg did the front leg bend leg the only thing he can do is come to the plate but as you pointed out that was some things that cannot happen come to Salvi was able to check his swing he lined a center vote Salvi for the 2024 Roberto Clemente award presented by Capital One off the field mlb.com slash Clemente award Salvi so the royals get a runner in scoring position and you can the possibility of the royals having runners at second and third and nobody out yeah that's why when you're ahead of Salvi out there on the bases you possibly but it had since it bounces into the stands it wouldn't have but had it stayed in it would have had a chance MJ grounded to second in the second and struck out swinging in the fourth this is just the second time tonight that the royals have had a runner past first base heat on that fastball that's 96 we begin in the top 10 for extra base hits it's impressive still one ball two strikes you know they all the young royals were proud that they could get the captain back there but he went ahead and said no no changing for them in their baseball career they're going to come to the ballpark or the spring training every year expecting postsync that on opening day of spring training and then all through camp like this royals team did this year and wherever we end up houston or baltimore it will be an experience crowds they played in big moments they played in big games but there's nothing like a postseason game man he just said here it is and that's one of the reports on pierce johnson he he's a guy great pitch i mean that that fastball is above average if you can challenge him and snitker has seen though jimenez is in with salvi at second base two down tied at one in the seventh and he'll be he'll be like this on tuesday and wednesday and he's smiling about and he should be getting a lot of love from his teammates like he has been look at that the doubles just hit his 28th all the young is 0 for 2 here's joe jimenez the royal sock fastball slider change up hard mid mid to upper 90s line foul pass third base coach vance slider away strikes him out so a lead-off walk it's our responsibility to put the right people for the first out here's a message from rally house rally house has gear for every fan well he throws that change up to him usually to try to finish him one ball one strike two and one striver pitched a scoreless seventh inning on 38th consecutive scoreless inning two outs that day had gone 20 and two thirds innings you know when you can string together a bunch of scoreless innings like that from your bullpen your starters anyway that's that's the whole pitching so now if you want to break it down to earned runs the bullpen has gone no balls two strikes on harris one ball two strikes start looking at guys that pitch tonight michael lorenzen this guy was he was the most reliable reliever in the first half of the season chris bubic has moved to the bullpen and mac matero's been using him in high leverage situations yeah still wanted to jump off here and execute a good one against michael harris the second and give him a swingle in case you're wondering it's a good angle and throws a strike and now that's nine consecutive scoreless outings for john and sign up for royals text messages and receive news exclusive ticket offers and more that you can't royals text royals to 8166 royals rob out of the seventh inning grossman struck out in two at bats against hired the last 11 royals and runs it down on the track detroit lost earlier today or a tiger's loss as far as the braves go they're tied right now with the mets for the second wild cards and behind the mets and the braves is air that's just that this this race here that they've got a double header coming up on monday potentially is it the other team you got to cooperate but the royals are not and it's going to be an interesting this month you know fightin's are in milwaukee's and it's it's going to be a lot of fun for the playoffs unless they have an elimination game and they will use him for that i didn't but they've been very guarded with chris sale all year he's having a great year but he has had traditional four days rest hamster so for a player you eliminate all that and just focus on what you can let's let the management take care of things on with two outs and michael massey is gonna pinch hit as he had two doubles last night and both of those were against max freed who only gave up three hits so three for 13 as a pinch hitter that's respectable give him a fastball where he likes it down and in 325 down the right field that's his wheelhouse and he'll take that heater in the middle too so pitcher makes a mistake masses got quick enough hands he can barrel it three and oh to get the final out of the seventh inning and relief of johnson he has gotten a fly out and a and that's back to back four pitch walks so jimenez is missed with eight straights is going to go out for a chat dear unbreakable spirit you roll on paths called impossible and now rizal last night is warming up rapid fire yeah i mean you got a guy up there he's walking the house inside ball one on frazier ninth inning and now a chance to drive and run with two down in the eighth and a 1-1 tie and look good against a young to end the seventh grossman flied out to deep right field in this inning for mean hit not thrown a strike over his last 10 pitches make him throw you a strike now us from the home crowd pull one to right field and that is low no swing rounds it foul three two and frazier grounds it to first right to olson and jimenez gets out of it we'll get the bottom of the eighth inning the braves to one run four hits down and away ball one on ozzy albeys he is oafris and south side two balls in second to first two and one three and one sam long he's low 90s to mid 90s slider curve split and albies is on with a leadoff block he struck out in the fourth against lorenzen and struck out in this with 39 home runs and 102 rbis he for me in ball one and is grounded into 22 double plays that's braves don't don't steal a lot albies has right field and grossman back one long loud out so high it's a good thing because that almost snuck out of the ballpark and here's matt olsen he has two singles both to center field and he has flied out what he was trying to do that he was trying to hit the ball hard on the ground up the middle one ball one strike keep that down nine year who signed to a minor league contract with a make the team out of spring training and he strikes out olsen yeah that's that curve i was telling you about yeah see how he stays on top of that baby comes out letter high it ended up below the belt it was a pretty good pitch with matt sour remember him rule five pick out of the yankees organization and that's what kept matt long off the opening day our eventually was returned to the yankees and in the big leagues one ball one strike he pitched 5.6 and this is appearance number 43 this year and his era is 3.05 checked his swing and took a strike great sabbat i mean kenned and solare takes low two and two so it's a heck of a year for sam long and especially a guy who leased by tampa bay in spring training of 2018 he not only walked away but he was ready for a new career he went back to school he was taking but before he got that started he decided to give baseball one last shot in 2009 lair swings and misses so it wasn't a great start for long he gave up a lead-off walk but he gets a fly out and four royals shattered expectations now you have a chance to get in from the start in 2025 defense that's an all-star play the bombs fancy drives it the heaters deliver closet for 2025 season tickets today to guarantee postseason access in 2024 big league season with at least 30 saves his next save will be his 34th and that'll tie a career lost it for a moment in lights went away in 34 with the reds the next year 34 with the angels in 21 and saudi winds up and lets it go from last night you thought it was a home run from everybody that you wasted a grunt too i did because i i was pulling a little extra hard anyway which is good you feel a sense of relief don't you like there's not a lot of still a lot to be decided here by tonight tomorrow gracius is from cuba and saudi is out on a fastball at 97 with that low arm slot it's almost like that ball's rising yeah he pushes it so he's got that good extension you're looking to be aggressive it's hard on melendez he is old one and one pitchers have struck out 12 royals they've got one plate umpire will little and strikeouts and you have an offense that leads their league in fewest strikeouts all those were from starter max freed they have struck out 12 still one and two and her shell up in the bottom of the night with some right hand bats available and chris buvich come royals have one run three hit and iglesias comes on and gets the royals in order with a couple of strikeouts ramon loriano long worked around a lead-off walk in the loriano he has struck out twice against lugo in the second and against lynch jammed and fouled away yeah right on his hands graves run scored on a throwing error by michael lorenzen in the fourth the royals run scored and that was back in the third inning two and two struck him out outstanding work his location to change his speeds but you know his fastball balls and slider in the curve up and away ball one he is 0 for 3 with a couple of strikeouts both sides two and oh graves are so no teams are hitless in that situation and both have had very few opportunities and it's gone for a brave win in the bottom of the night
