Welcome back to Open Your Reality.
Today we're looking at the 10 superpowers yogis have in real life.
Some were written down more than 1700 years ago in the Yoga Sutra by Patanjali.
These powers are nothing new for these superhuman yogis.
So without further ado, let's get into the 10 superpowers yogis have in real life.
The first superpower on our list is the ability to become invisible.
There have been many stories of normal people who have met up with yogic masters.
During their time together, at one point, either in front of their eyes or when their
backs were turned, these yogis simply disappeared.
Patanjali talks about this in his Yoga Sutras, and many yogis throughout time have seemingly
disappeared, only to reappear again at a later time.
This brings us to the second superpower, which is the ability to teleport.
With this power, yogis can appear and reappear in different locations very far apart.
There are many examples of yogis appearing out of thin air, directly in front of their
disciples, even though they were known to be thousands of miles away.
One such example is from the book Autobiography of a Yogi, my favorite spiritual book of all
time, and a must-read for all spiritual initiates.
There are several passages that speak of Babaji, an extremely high-level ascended master, manifesting
out of thin air, including one such example in Chapter 42.
I quote from the book,
Keshabananda, I am glad you are here.
These words came from behind me.
I turned, startled, and was dazzled to behold Babaji, the great guru had materialized himself
in a recess of the cave.
The third superpower is the ability to levitate.
Being that the yogi has mastered this reality, he can override the rule set we mere mortals
are bound to.
With this power, the yogi can levitate above the ground, unrestricted by gravity.
We turn to Autobiography of a Yogi again for another example.
By the way, this book was written by Paramahansa Yogananda, a super high-level yogi who possessed
some of these powers.
In Chapter 7, he writes about a particular yogi known as the Levitating Sage, and I quote,
Indeed, it is true, a yogi's body loses its grossness after the use of certain pranayamas.
By the way, if you don't know, these are certain breathing exercises that nearly all
yogis practice.
Yogananda goes on to say, Even saints who do not practice formal yoga have been known
to levitate during a state of intense devotion to God.
The fourth power is being able to manifest things out of thin air.
This is one of the more popular and controversial yogic superpowers.
Many have claimed trickery from yogis that have this power.
Perhaps the most famous example of a modern yogi who could materialize is Sai Baba.
He was said to manifest all sorts of things, but was most famous for materializing a sacred
ash.
Supposedly, Sai Baba could manifest things at a distance as well.
As such, his devotees claim to find this sacred ash around the pictures of Sai Baba in their
homes.
But there is much controversy surrounding Sai Baba's life and powers.
Another example of manifestation is found once again in Autobiography of a Yogi.
In chapter 34, Babaji manifested a shimmering palace of gold and jewels in the Himalaya
mountains from nothing.
Babaji claimed to have manifested it using nothing more than the power of his mind.
The fifth superpower of yogi masters is clairvoyance and psychic abilities.
These include an incredible array of different physical skills such as the capacity to foresee
the future or precognition, the ability to see things far away or remote viewing, and
the faculty to influence people and read their minds.
This general superpower also allows yogis to view a person's aura and past lives.
Another cool power that falls under this category is telepathy.
This is the ability to communicate by voice to people far away.
And yeah, that doesn't involve a cell phone.
One last power that I'll mention in this group is psychokinesis, which is the ability to
which could warrant an entire video in itself.
The sixth superpower is breatharianism.
This is the ability to live without eating or drinking.
I made an entire video devoted to breatharianism.
You can see it here.
Basically, having mastered this physical plane, the yogi can live off light and prana, which
is an invisible energy inherent in every molecule of air.
These yogis have no need for physical nourishment and can survive for months, years, and even
decades without food or drink.
A couple of examples are Therese Newman, who an entire chapter was devoted to in Autobiography
of a Yogi, and the Count of St. Germain.
The Count was one of the most amazing people of all time.
Voltaire called him the man who knew everything and never died.
If you want to know more about the Count, I made a 14-minute documentary video on him,
which you can see here.
The seventh superpower is one a bit more esoteric than the others.
It's the ability to consciously die.
Most high-level yogis can consciously choose the time and place they wish to die.
I know this sounds morbid, but remember, death of the physical body has nothing to do with
death of consciousness.
The yogi, having mastered this physical realm, transcends it by using his intent.
This is why so many yogi and zen masters have been able to predict their own death.
It's because they are choosing the time and place of it.
If you're interested in learning more about this fascinating power, there are a bunch
of examples in the amazing book Graceful Exits, How Great Beings Die.
This book was written in 2005 and is filled with dozens of short stories of how Hindu
and Buddhist masters consciously die.
It really goes to show how death is just an illusion and life is not what we think.
The eighth superpower is the ability to resist the elements.
This includes being impervious to scalding heat, freezing cold, being pierced by sharp
objects, and even being buried alive.
Many such examples of yogis burying the elements can be found.
Actually, the Shaolin monks are awesome examples of this.
Purely by using the power of their minds, they can withstand bitterly cold temperatures
and extreme physical feats of endurance.
Some yogis have even been known to withstand being burned alive.
The ninth superpower is the ability to confer spiritual energy.
This is called Shaktipath and literally means energy transmission.
This energy, imparted by the yogi, can often open the metaphorical third eye of a person.
Swami Muktananda was famous for touching his disciples on their foreheads to accelerate
their spiritual growth.
Another example of this comes from autobiography of a yogi.
Lahiri, who was Babaji's student, didn't remember his last incarnation, so Babaji taps
him on the forehead and instantly Lahiri remembers.
I put healing under this superpower too, as healing is a form of energy transmission.
Almost all the great masters, from Jesus to Yogananda, use their abilities to heal their
disciples at one time or another.
However, we all have the ability to heal, and it doesn't take that long to develop.
When an individual specializes in only healing, we call them a reike master, but all high-level
yogis have this ability.
They just use it very prudently, as it's not wise to heal every person for karmic reasons.
The tenth and last superpower is one that is reserved for only the highest of spiritual
adepts.
It's the ability to go directly from spirit into a physical body.
For example, in 1970, Haidekhan Babaji simply showed up one day.
He just appeared in a cave, taking on the body of a 19-year-old male yogi.
Until he appeared, nobody knew he existed.
There was no record of him being born or his childhood.
That's because Babaji simply decided to incarnate into a body directly from spirit.
Haidekhan Babaji is thought to be the legendary Babaji that has been incarnating in various
bodies down through the centuries, even back to ancient times.
If you'd like me to make a video on him, let me know in the comment section.
So there you have it, the 10 superpowers yogis have in real life.
While these powers are magnificent examples of our potential, we should remember that
they are byproducts of hard work and discipline in the spiritual arena.
In the grand scheme of things, our soul evolution is really what's most important.
