In the world of architecture and home design nothing fosters creativity like working within
spatial constraints and this next ultra tiny home in France is a fantastic example
of just how much functionality you can pack into a very small space.
I want to say a huge thank you to June's Journey for sponsoring this video and helping to make
what we do possible. If you love a good mystery and if you're a fan of 1920s style you'll love
this game. I'm the kind of person who can get a little bit stressed out and so I really like
games that can help me to unwind and clear my mind at the end of a long day. June's Journey
is perfect for that. It's really engaging as you follow the story of June Parker who's on a quest
to solve the murder of her sister and who uncovers some big family secrets along the way. This game
has a story that just really pulls you in and keeps you guessing. I like that it's also got a
fun design element to the game as you get to fix up and remodel your own mansion on a garden island
all with visually stunning vintage style. Definitely a grander scale than my usual design
projects. The best thing is to download the game and find out for yourself though. You can download
for free by clicking the link in the description of this video or by scanning the QR code on screen.
Supporting our show's sponsors helps to keep us making content so show June's Journey some love
by downloading the game and giving it a go. Hello I'm Yann. I'm very happy to welcome you
in France. We are in the Seine and I introduce you to my tiny house. The name is Bonsai like
the bonsai tree. The shape of the tiny is very particular and it's very unusual to get a climbing
wall on the tiny but it's very nice to climb and to get a beer with friends at the same time.
So the size it's not a very big one. It's only four meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 4.2 meters
high. We are not living in this tiny full-time with my wife and my two daughters. We are coming
here as often as possible. It's a legal place because we are on the campground. We are connected
for the water and for the electricity. We've got solar panels and for us it's a very nice
opportunity to stay in this paradise for not a lot of money and it's not far away from our house
because it's only two hours by bicycle so it's very quick to come here. And for me this tiny
house is very important because it's like an extension of myself. When I come here it's full
of energy with the trees, the grass, the birds and I love coming here for my spirit, for my brain
and for creating companies as well. I've got several jobs. I teach in university. I practice
lots of bicycles and it's my job and at this time I'm working about the idea of creating company
around well-being and sustainability and for me this tiny represents well-being and sustainability
and when I saw this tiny I met Remy, one of the builders, and I fell in love with this guy
and with the tiny at the same time. So it was love at first sight and the three guys who built
this tiny are very inspiring and they put in this tiny lots of love and when I come here I feel
their love in fact. So now let's have a look inside. Let's go. Welcome inside the Bonsai Tiny House.
This tiny is like a cocoon. You can feel all the natural materials and you can smell as well
the full essence of wood and it's important to know they didn't use any glue, any paints,
any varnish. So it's a healthy tiny, very natural inside and the builders did a lot of work with the
shape of the tiny. It's a triangle window as a particular position where you've got diamond,
you've got triangle and the mix of everything is very cozy in fact. When I met the builders
they explained to me that they wrote some love message directly on the structure of the tiny
So I love this story and to remember that this tiny has been built with love. So here it's the
living room, very cozy and comfortable. It's like a bike park. This bike is one of the 30 I have
because I've got a problem. I am a bike addict in fact and this one is my favorite because it's a
bamboo bike with the bamboo of the seven. It's a local and natural bike and it's very convenient
to be able to store the bike inside in such a small tiny. I think it's unique. Just behind we've
got a climbing wall so that the wall is a bit like this so it's not a problem for when you are seated
it's unique and what is very nice in this tiny is that you can move all the furniture and you
can transform for example a seat in a table, you can transform the couch in a bed and you've got
lots of storage under the couch. You could put lots of things. We've got the battery as well just
under the couch. You've got as well a foldable table because I am a digital nomad and it's
possible to get two seats and what is unique in this tiny is that as well one of the seats is in
the climbing wall. In fact it's a window but I can sit inside. It's very comfortable to sit. This lamp
is movable. We can put it up and down with a pulley and the ropes. My wife and my daughters love
playing games so when we are the four of us in the tiny house we can play together. For the
atmosphere it's very nice to get the lamp just above the table. It's very nice. Next just behind me
it's the kitchen. A very simple kitchen. We've got no fridge because we are vegetarian and when we need
some vegetables we just go with the bike to the shop. If one day we want to put a fridge we've got
the place under the sink to put it and we've got a cooktop with two burners and the two tables are
made in acacia wood. Up there it's a very clever storage space because you can put lots of things
and for example your tray and it's very convenient and in the kitchen you've got a second foldable
table and the two tables are made in acacia wood. We put all the dishes in the closet and the door
it's just gorgeous because there is a tree of life and when you arrive in the tiny you can see
only this tree of life. It's wonderful and the tree continues at the top in the mezzanine
and the handle all the details are very well thought and I adore this souvenir. The builder
offered me a souvenir at the end of the building and it's written in french
that means to the beautiful ideas, to the human connections and to the freedom and I love the idea.
So now let's go to the bathroom. We've got a door. It's a very nice separation between the bathroom
and the rest of the tiny. You can see a heavenly shower and on the other side we could think it's a
storage room but when you open the door you can see that it's a combusting toilet. We've got a
small deck just in front of the bathroom. You've got natural light with the door and when for
example you are in the sofa you can see far away thanks to this door as well. In summer it's very
hot in the south of France so it's nice to have a cross ventilation in the tiny thanks to this door.
Okay now let's go upstairs. I love the woody atmosphere of the bedroom. We can sleep as two or
three people in this bedroom. We just need to add the mattress if needed and we can open the window
entirely to get the impression to sleep outside so it's a very good sensation and just near the bed
we've got the storage. It's possible to move it if needed and it's incredible in terms of
construction because the weight of the mezzanine is supported by a screw and a rope. And the last
but not least, the net. It's a real fishing net and it's a reused material because it was thrown
by a fisherman and the builders saved it from the waste in fact. And this net is really a
key place in the tiny because it's very nice to keep cool, to sleep, to discuss with other
people in the tiny. And for me this is really my chilling spot in the tiny house. And when we come
the four of us, our daughters love sleeping in the net in fact. So in this tiny we can accommodate
about six people sleeping here because we could sleep three people here, two people in the net
and one downstairs in the living room. So we bought the tiny four years ago. We've paid
50 000 euros and sincerely my life changed with this tiny house online. There is a before
and an after tiny in my life. I mean in my job because before that I was in a conventional
business. Now I am more in alternative business. So thanks to the tiny I changed my way of working
but also as living because today what I love is minimalist and it's a great change as well for
the people I met. Because the three builders Rémy, Clément and Jérôme, it was incredible to meet
those guys. And today we are friends but really very good friends. And thanks to them today I
practice music so I've got a handpan. It's just incredible for me. And in the same time the tiny
has taught me lots of things. How to live with less energy, to be careful with the water,
to take the time for me. And now I practice yoga to move slowly. So I prefer to take my bicycle
for example than a car. So I learned a lot on minimalist, on low-tech. I learned about permaculture,
taking the time in fact. And now I am lucky because I've got the chance to teach this way of life
in the university. So for me it's very important to give the good kids to the students, to live
in a sustainable way. And as I am a passionate guy, what is important for me is to have several jobs
because I love to create. And now what I want to do is to create a marketplace. The name is
You Feel Good Point, FR. It's a kind of platform and I want to create workshop in other people
who are inspiring to meet and to question about how to live in this world, how to eat,
how to move, how to practice sports, how to create art in a positive way and to adapt their life
in a more sustainable way. I think today it's very important to create awareness and to be more
respectful for the humanity and for the planet as well. And what makes me happy today is to share
the experience I learned with other people. This is my mission today. We love sharing the tiny with
friends or sometimes with people we don't know that much. But I want them to discover the spirit
of a tiny, the wood atmosphere. And every person should have the opportunity to try
to live in a tiny house once in their life. You can see in Yann's tiny home that an immense
amount of time and effort was put into making a space that was beautiful, that was fun, playful,
but also one that really worked. There are just so many features that have been packed
into this ultra compact home to make a space that's highly functioning, but also just really
playful and fun. And I think that that's one of the things that I really love about this space.
Beyond that, this home just pairs so beautifully to Yann's personality and
all of the things that he's out to accomplish in the world. This really is just such a fantastic
home for him. Again I want to say a huge thank you to June's Journey for sponsoring this video
and helping to make what we do possible. You can download this game for free right now by clicking
the link in the description of this video or by scanning the QR code on screen. Enjoy and have fun!
