美國商務部9月25日公布數據，8月全美新建獨棟住宅銷量71.6萬套，低於7月的75.1萬套，按季節調整，年銷量下跌4.7%。新房成交價格中位為42.06萬美元，同比下跌4.6%。但上週，美聯儲降息2個基準點，一週內，30年固定房貸平均利率從6.2%下降到6.09%，讓房地產市場前景光明。
