Hi friends, I'm Katie and welcome back to Phoenix Jewelry for another wire wrapping tutorial.
I hope you guys are doing so great. I'm not going to hold you, so let's get right into this tutorial.
As you can see that I've already started the project and I've gotten about a quarter of a
way through it. If you remember my unboxing video, I'm using this Howlite that I got from BB Craft
to complete this project. For the project today, I'm using 20 gauge square wire and then I'm also
using my 22 gauge half round wire. Right here, what you can see is me wrapping the half round
wire around the square wire. I do this to start off the pattern that I showed you on the left side.
the square wire or just using a half round wire can be difficult in general. You'll see me use
about two or three different techniques to make sure that I'm not overlapping, but more importantly
that I'm not twisting that half round wire because once it gets twisted, it's really difficult to
include the top wire, the one that's twisted, and I'm going to wrap around both wires with my half
left side, I have three rotations already completed, so I'm going to do I think like
two or three more and then you'll see me come back with both sides completed.
Here's what it looks like with both sides completed with that pattern.
We've come to the part where we're going to be cutting the half round wire so we can finish
off the ends of the pattern. What I'm doing here, I'm just snipping my half round wire
off and I'm going to tuck that away. Then I'm going to use the top twisted wire and I'm going
to wrap around the bottom wire three times and of course I'll be doing this to the other side. I
don't believe that I filmed that part, but of course I'll be doing this to the left side of the
the one I'm twisting right now is still a square wire with the half round wrapped around it and
the other wire is just the square wire twisted. I'm just going to do some simple
coils at the front just to bring some interest to the choker and yeah, just keep watching.
To finish things off here, I'm going to go ahead and cut my wires shorter
try to form it into a necklace like a choker that would fit around the neck. I definitely need a
better method for this, but for now this works and this is how the Howlite choker turned out and I'm
super, super happy with how it turned out. I'm happy that I gave myself a little bit of grace
and gave it a shot and actually completed it because I wasn't sure with how it was going to
turn out. So I'm really excited to share this with you guys. Let me know what you guys think in the
comments and I hope you guys are doing great and you enjoyed the video. Don't forget to like and
subscribe and drop me a comment and say hi. Take care guys. Bye.
