Raccoon Destroys my Bonsai trees!
Hello everyone, so as you can see from the title a little guy has been messing with my trees
as you can see right here a raccoon he's been making a mess and destroying some of my trees
which really sucks. Now in this video this is the second time that he's just been playing around
messing around with my things and as you can see all over the floor there is things dropped
and he's just pretty much ruining my bonsai trees he's just playing around as you can see and having
a lot of fun. After the second night I decided to put all the little stuff away and just compact
all my trees as you can see but for some reason he loves the trident maple and he loves standing
on that pot and scratching on the leaves and unfortunately I did happen to lose I think one
or two trees yeah actually two trees and then the other ones were just broken pots small pots he
didn't really mess with the big ones except with my ball cypress that he broke some of the branches
and he had done that twice already. So after I decided to put all the little stuff away and
compact the trees as you can see all of them are just close together to avoid him from dropping
them and you know causing major damage the second day it was worse I had some pallets that I was
adding into the the water where the ball cypress is sitting to avoid mosquitoes and he completely
completely made a whole mess broken pots some branches as you can see in this video it's a
whole mess and it's in portrait I'm sorry about that but hopefully I can catch this thing. Now
funny story is that there is this script myrtle right here the little one with nice movement
he actually broke this pot the first time he dropped it and this blue pot broke so I repotted
into another container and the second night he dropped it again the pot broke but I could not
find the actual tree I looked around all over my balcony I even went downstairs and looked
on the ground to see if he might have tossed it over but I could not find it and he pretty much
took this tree which it sucks because he had beautiful movements so yeah it's been a crazy
situation with this raccoon. Alright so as you can see from the videos this guy is just making a mess
and as much as I love animals I feel bad but I do have to catch it I have a trap that a friend of
mine let me borrow and it's set up I'm covering the sides so he's not able to reach the food
through the other you know little sides of the of the thing forcing him to actually have to go in
put a little bit of bait right at the front and then there's the main meal right there
so I'll be having the camera hopefully I can pick up where you know the the trap is
is actually working so I'll keep you updated and here's the trap there is food in there right now
but ever since I put the trap this thing has not showed up at all it has not showed up at all
not even nothing it's been about four days that I've been setting the trap and this thing is just
not getting in there well not even like he's not even showing up like he is not here so I don't
know what happened hopefully he's gone for good I'm going to keep placing the trap so hopefully
yeah hopefully he doesn't come back. Alright so as you can see from the video
it's been pretty stressful honestly with this little guy just messing around with the trees
and of course they're animals they don't know better so I'm just going to show you what he
actually did he broke a few branches on the giveaway tree however the giveaway tree is
doing really well as you can see he would play so much with this tree I don't know why he loved
this tree so much but he took off some leaves nothing major air layer is good though a lot of
broken branches on this ball cypress as you can see the branches are kind of like hanging down
now because he was putting weight down on it so a lot of dead areas in between and this branch is
pretty much broken so you can see uh what about let's see uh there was some trees that kind of
fell down but other than that no major damage on those you might also notice that it looks a little
empty in here it does so like I said I saw the Chinese elm and the water jasmine so those you
went away my vietnamese blue bell is missing from here the reason why is because the vietnamese blue
bell and another tree I have them currently under the care of the bonsai maids they are
pretty much taking care of them I'm not getting too much sun now and that vietnamese blue bell
still not fully recovered so it needs some filter sunlight so that's the reason why I took him to
them for the next two months it should be over there and once the colds come in I'll bring it
back with me and it's going to stay indoors as you can see he messed with my poinsettia which I've
been really taking care of because finally it's been a whole year close to a year that I've been
able to keep a poinsettia alive and I'm planning on doing a bonsai with this but my variegated ficus
he completely killed it and still green on this side but this side had really nice twists that
I had created and that side is dead also the crypt myrtle that you saw in the video
it's gone I don't know what he was maybe into bonsai as well and he decided to give it a try
but other than that I mean I don't remember anything else that he might have messed with
oh yeah I was doing a thread graft and he took off the points the pointy thing the growth
of this tree so I don't know if that's gonna make it let's see what else yeah I think that's
that's pretty much it I mean he didn't really what I known he was also on top of this
every night I put everything together everything together and all those little ones all those
little ones I'm bringing me indoors because those are the ones that he'd been dropping
I see some of the videos a whole bunch of mess yeah just pretty much wanted to share this story
with you guys a crazy thing right and hopefully he's not coming back or if it does hopefully he
doesn't trap and yeah because every night I have to move everything around compress everything
together so he's not able to walk on the benches and not able to drop anything so I really do hope
that I can catch him or at least that he does not come back at all I don't know how he gets up here
but it is what it is right so yeah I just wanted to share this little crazy story with you guys
